What to expect
Head out on this guided boat tour to Rio Lagartos, a small fishing village in the Rio Lagartos Biosphere Reserve. You'll start the tour at Las Coloradas, home to pink lakes and a large sea salt harvesting industry. Then, you'll head to Rio Lagartos for a boat ride through the mangroves. This place is known for its wildlife – your guide will help you spot native birds often found hanging around here, like pink flamingos, pelicans and eagles. To wrap things up, you'll head to a traditional a Mayan bath for a soaking session – they use nutrient-rich clay as well here to help soothe and exfoliate your skin.

Mooie en bijzondere excursie, al ben je vanuit Playa del Carmen wel ongeveer 4 uur heen onderweg, wat best lang is. We bezochten een zoutmijn waar bacteriën zorgen voor water in een roze kleur. Daarna een boottocht door de mangroven met flamingo’s, roofvogels en zelfs een krokodil van dichtbij. Het eten was lekker in een klein, gezellig restaurant en de gids was erg vriendelijk. Kortom, zeker de moeite als je tegen langdurige busritten kunt.

De reisleider vertelde kort over de zoutwinning em algemene zaken verdee heeft hij bijna zo wel de heen als terugreis geslapen in de bus. Verder veel dieren gezien. Flamingos, racoons, pelikanen en een krokodil ook de zoutmeren waren bijzonder om een keer te zien

1. Bad info about the length of the trip 2. At La Coloradas no warning about the depth of the lake which was also very steep to get in. So I fell down and got my knee and elbow scratched. The guide instead of helping me was watching and laughing. I received assistance and medication (Iwas bleeding) from one of the park guides. 3.on the boat my guide didn’t speak English plus our boat broke in the middle of the river so I missed all the infos and the program. Only one stop to watch the animals :(

Rio Lagartos war super, gute Botsfahrer/Guides und sehr schönes Erlebnis mir den Tieren. Die Salzienen war cool mal zu sehen aber das wars dann auch schon.

De reis er naar toe was erg lang vanuit ons hotel Riu Playacar, we zijn heen 4 uur onderweg geweest en terug 3 uur. De lange reistijd kwam door de afstand maar ook door verschillende ophaalpunten en wissels van personen duurde het 1,5 keer zo lang.. we hadden een leuke gids bij las Colorados masr ze sprak alleen spaans helaas, wel heeft ze hele leuke foto's gemaakt van ons.

Tout etait parfait, a l’exception du timing… départ de l’hôtel 07h50 et retour à 21h, c’est beaucoup plus long que les 8h annoncés au moment de la réservation ???????

Nach ca 4 std gelangt man mit einem Kleinbus zum Zielort, hier erhält man eine 30 minütige Führung des rosa farbenen Wassers, anschließend wieder in den Bis, dann fährt ma ca 15 min zu den Booten, fährt 45-60 Minuten, sieht Tiere, wird dann in einer Fischerstadt abgesetzt, geht in ein Restaurant, hat dort ca 45 Min und fährt wieder 4 Stunden in einem Kleinbus zurück. Zu viel Zeit im Bus, wenn man aus Cancún kommt.

We had such a great time everything that was stated was true to word, got to see all the animal & birds. The lunch provided was also lovely and freshly made Totally would recommend this experience to others. The guide was also very patient and so not rush people and made sure everyone was ok

It was all great. We didn’t participate in the swimming as it was difficult to enter and exit the boat. The boat captain took us out into the gulf where we saw many more birds

Didn’t like -Transported in a packed mini bus felt cramped and uncomfortable The mud was from a bucket on the shore washed off in the lagoon not as depicted in the sales advert The changing and showering facilities were not good Liked - the salt flats were a picture and interesting The lagoon boat trip the scenery and wild life was fantastic. Lunch was good Overall, the round trip of 500 miles of travelling about 6+ hours made for a very long day, I’m not sure it was worth the price

Die An- und Abreise in den kleinen Bussen ist sehr unkomfortabel. Zu der insgesamt langen 3stündigen Anreise kamen noch 1 1/2 h Einsammeln von Gästen hinzu. Das trübt das Gesamtergebnis. Wir hatten ausreichend Zeit am Las Colorades, um zu schauen und zu fotografieren, aber der Guide vor Ort hat leider gar nichts erklät. Das war bei anderen Gruppen anders. Die Bootstour war toll, mit Krokodil, Pelikanen und Flamingos

Cons: Mixed language english/spanish guide is not a good option - changing language during trip, picking words in English once im not not spanish speaker. Main bus was not comfortable - placing 5 adult persons at the back smaller seats with limited legs space for a long Journey. Pros: very good boat driver, tasty lunch

Die Tour war sehr schön, der Reiseleiter sehr nett, allerdings hatte ich öfters Probleme ihn zu verstehen wegen Akzent. Ich habe mich immer sicher gefühlt. Es waren Leute dabei die diese Tour über get your Guide wesentlich günstiger gebucht hatten. Das hat mich doch ein wenig gewundert. Es sollte auch erwähnt werden dass man 5 Stunden für den Hinweg und nochmal 5 Stunden für den Rückweg im Bus sitzt. Es war aber trotzdem superschön und ich kann die Tour empfehlen.
