What to expect
When it comes to dolphin experiences, the Royal Connection at Purerto Aventuras wears the crown. Spend an hour with these majestic creatures and engage all five senses as you learn all about their behaviours from an expert. The highlight of the experience is sharing the deeper water with the dolphins as they swim by – it's where you'll feel the greatest connection to them. To top off the experience, you'll also have an encounter with the gentle sea cows of the ocean, manatees. After all that time in the water, round off your trip with a buffet lunch.

What to remember
This is a ticket for the activity only, transport is not included, but it can be arranged for an extra charge
Women under five months pregnant may only participate if accompanied by another paying adult, and must sign a liability waiver
Children between 120cm and 139cm must be accompanied by an adult for dolphin interactions, while children 140cm and taller may participate in dolphin interactions on their own
Infants aged one to five years can participate free of charge, accompanied by a paying adult
Children are considered from six to 12 years old. Adults from 13 years and up
The use of suncream and tanning products is not allowed during the dolphin experience
Any jewellery or accessories that can easily come off are not allowed during the dolphin experience
Electronic devices, like phones and cameras, are not allowed during the dolphin experience
A state tax of MX$50 per person (for ages six and up) must be paid at check-in
We recommend bringing cash for purchasing any photos or souvenirs
Guests with a history of heart conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, use of heart medication, or any other major medical condition should not participate
You're advised to consider your physical condition and medical history when deciding if this activity is suitable for you and if you have concerns, please consult your doctor before participating
Photos packages are not included but are available to buy for an extra cost
Please check-in at Dolphin Discovery Riviera Maya - Puerto Aventuras, you'll be given a time slot of either 9.00am, 11.00am or 1.00pm subject to availability

These criteria are continually updated based on the latest scientific research and international standards. They focus on enhancing cetacean wellbeing by promoting natural and social behaviours, ensuring specialised veterinary care, encouraging the animals' autonomy within their environment, and supporting education and conservation efforts. The standards strictly prohibit breeding for commercial purposes, the use of behavioural drugs, the capture of wild cetaceans and food deprivation techniques, among other measures.

It was absolutely fantastic however it would’ve been a little better if we knew about the seperate cost of the transfer and also our ticket didn’t give us any details of the catamaran trip so we assumed we weren’t on it, glad we were though

The experience with the Dolphins was good, everything was well explained by the trainers. After my experience with them we spent time with the manatees also good. It did break down then as I was supposed to have a lobster meal which never took place. There was no overall guide so I felt left to fend for myself. Fortunately I used my own initiative and was able to eat courtesy of the staff at the centre. Before being picked up by the mini bus driver.

Our guide, Brenda, was fantastic and gave us lots of information about the dolphins. The experience with the dolphins exceeded our expectations. The photographs are fantastic but way to expensive.

The experience with the dolphins was fantastic. We enjoyed every minute. We were however when we were asked to pay $21 upon arrival at the facility for our transfer. We had taken two other excursions arranged through TUI during our holiday and everything was included. We had only taken $25 cash with us, as we understood that we would have to pay for drinks - this was all but taken up by the payment for the transfer!
