What to expect
Enjoy a visit to Chichen Itza while visiting Cancun and learn all about the ancient capital of the Mayan Empire and why it has been designated one of the modern wonders of the world.After hotel pickup, you'll head to visit Chichen Itza. Travel to Chichen Itza on board an air-conditioned bus equipped with washroom. As you arrive to the archaeological site, the guide will take you through the most important buildings and explain to you the details and history of the place. Explore the most important archaeological zone of Yucatan and admire the Kukulcan Pyramid, the Temple of a Thousand Columns, the observatory, the sacred cenote, the ball court and other amazing buildings. The guided tour is about 2.5 hours with about 30 additional minutes to take pictures and explore the place on your own. At the end of the tour you'll go to a restaurant for a buffet lunch (salad bar, fruit, lime soup, rice, beans, roasted suckling pig, chicken pibil, dessert), followed by a visit to Cenote X-Cajum where guests have the possibility to go for a swim. Your tour ends with hotel drop-off.

Know in advance:
Pickup starts at 7 am, and depending on your hotel location the time may change. The local provider will contact you by email to confirm the exact pickup time and location
Pickup is available from major hotels in Cancun and Riviera Maya, if your hotel is not served by the provider's route, you'll be set to the closest pickup point

The tour was advertised as 12 hours but took 15 and a half. The first stop was sold as a cultural visit but was just a chance to buy tat. The visit to the cenote was great. The guide for the English group around Chichen Itza was fantastic. A local of Mayan decent with the extra nuggets of info that made the tour memorable. The guide on the but gave key info in English but the Spanish speakers got more content as not everything was translated.

Hämtar 15 min sen.Ca 1.30 för att hämta alla. Guiden säljer in free drinks i bussen för 350 pesos.Han blandar infon i spanska och engelska så det är lite svårt att höra.1a stopp mayaby(shopping och bar), man hinner 1 drink OM man köpt all inklusive på bussen.Lunchen ok MEN drickat ingår INTE !Cenoten fin och man hinner en drink.Så äntligen, efter 8 timmar det vi åkte till Mexico för,Chitchen Itza.Bara 40 minuters guidning och totalt 2 timmar mot utlovat 3.Totalt 15 tim mot sagda 12. Betyg 2/5.

The confirmation didn't arrive until the evening before the trip, and I had to press the TUI reps at the airport to look into it. The pick-up time was confusing and the contact number provided was unavailable. The whole excursion smelled of being a tourist trap, especially the "mayan village", which was nothing but an overpriced souvenir store. On the positives, the cenote was nice and the lunch was surprisingly good. We only arrive at Chichen Itza around 3pm, 2 hours before closing time.
