What to expect
Set sail on this adults-only, half-day catamaran cruise around Boa Vista and the islet of Sal Rei. You'll kick things off with a safety briefing from your crew, before heading out along Boa Vista's coastline. Miguel, our expert local guide says “as you cruise around Boa Vista and Sal Rei, you'll get an eyeful of the kind of views that never get old – there are miles of golden beaches and intriguing rock formations all along the coast.” Drifting by the islands, you'll be treated to endless coastal views. As you glide past Sal Rei, keep an eye out for the Fort of the Duke of Braganca– this place was originally built to defend the area against pirates. Sal Rei was also an epicentre for salt production. In fact, the place is called Salt King in Portuguese to reflect this deep-rooted history. Between mid‑March and mid‑May, the warm waters become an important breeding and calving area for humpback whales, so as we sail along, you could spot them in their natural habitat. On board, you'll have plenty to keep your energy levels up, with all-inclusive drinks and snacks. Take your pick from the refreshing drinks or tasty nibbles – whatever you go for, you'll be well taken care of by your friendly crew. Then, you'll drop anchor. If you fancy cooling off with a dip in the sea, this is your chance. Alternatively, kick back on board, snap some photos, or work on your tan. What is the itinerary for this experience?This experience is available as a morning or afternoon tour, so the itinerary timings change depending on which one you pick.Morning option:- 8:30am to 9:20am – pick-up from your hotel and drive to the harbour in Sal Rei- 9:30pm – board the catamaran SODADE II and have a safety briefing- 10:00am – sail around Boa Vista and Sal Rei with drinks and snacks- 11:30am to 12:15pm – swimming stop- 12:30pm – return to harbour- 1:00pm – transfer back to your hotel----------Afternoon option:- 12:30pm to 1:20pm – pick-up from your hotel and drive to the harbour in Sal Rei- 1:30pm – board the catamaran SODADE II and have a safety briefing- 2:00pm – sail around Boa Vista and Sal Rei with drinks and snacks- 3:30pm to 4:15pm – swimming stop- 4:30pm – return to harbour- 5:00pm – transfer back to your hotel Please note, the times and stops may vary slightly on the day.

The staff were wonderful and a credit to the company, it was run very well. It was my friends birthday and the snag to her which was a nice touch. The trip from collection form the hotel to dropping us back was seamless. Everything was explained with regards safety, the crew ensured everyone was ok at all times they could tell one of my friends was very nervous and they reassured her in every way possible. I would 100% recommend this trip

The only thing to criticise was the lack of outside space for some people.More open deck to experience catamaran sailing.Other than that a great time was had.The whole crew were great and they made such a wonderful time for all.Food and refreshments very good.Highly recommended for fun lovers.

Ich würde diesen Ausflug nicht wieder buchen. Dies aus 2 Gründen. 1. Es waren einfach zu viele Personen auf dem Katamaran. Im Bus zum Hafen waren alle Sitze besetzt. Die Reiseleitung saß kurzzeitig auf dem Fußboden. Die Crew empfand ich auch als zu viele Personen. Sie waren aber alle sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. An Bord waren alle Sitzbereiche besetzt. 2. Den Wind sollte man nicht unterschätzen, der macht es echt frisch.

The staff were very attentive and made sure all needs were catered for. The staff explained what the afternoon would look like and what to expect. Staff also were very entertaining and professional throughout. The staff also performed a dance routine and got the passengers taking part. It was a really lovely afternoon. Staff work very hard and this doesn't go unnoticed

What an incredible experience from start to finish! The atmosphere on board was fantastic, with a great vibe throughout and a truly friendly, attentive crew. The trip lasts around four hours, including a relaxing one-hour stop where you can swim and enjoy the water. Food and drinks are all included, and the drinks keep coming, which really adds to the fun. Overall, it's excellent value for money, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Highly recommended!

We had the most amazing time! The crew are amazing, the boat is spectacular, the food was to a great standard! The dancing on the way back was a real laugh and joy!! 5* service!!!! My only slight quibble is there’s no where that states if you aren’t fit and able you may struggle to get on and off the tender and on and off the boat! The crew were incredible at helping my mum on and off the tender and boat but if it hadn’t have been for them she would have had to go back to the hotel!

Leider kann man bei dieser Tour egal wo man ist, den Starthafen sehen, zudem wurden im Vorfeld Walsichtungen in Aussicht gestellt, die aber bei der geringen Entfernung zum Ufer natürlich nicht zu sehen sind. Ansonsten war die Crew samt Katamaran und die Bewirtung Top!!!!

Nothing at all to complain about!! It was an amazing experience and we even caught a glimpse of a whale. Food was great and drinks were too. Captain Pedro was awesome at riding the waves, Wilma, Newton, Lopes, Maya, Annette, Ivan and Ilian were the very best host(esses) we have have asked for. Nothing was too much trouble. Cannot recommend higher!

Coach arrived slightly earlier than expected, so make sure you’re ready 15mins before arrival time, we were waiting outside reception within this time and were one of the last pick ups. Transfer is via tender to catamaran, crew were helpful in ensuring safe transfer from land to tender and then tender to catamaran a visa versa. We managed to get to the front on the sofas, the later you’re on you’ll probably inside. We managed to see whales x2! Food, drinks and crew amazing! Great afternoon out.

Absolutely fabulous trip. Loved the catamaran, loved the on board entertainment/ dancing . Drinks and food were spot on too. My only issue was that I wished it went on all day as I could of done an all dayer. Crew were fab and made sure everyone felt welcome and involved in dancing. Thanks to all.

We enjoyed every part of the trip, the staff onboard were absolutely fantastic, dancing and singing, and what a good idea to have a little pool at the rear of the boat, so that people that were unsure could swim in the sea. It was also great that everything was provided onboard as stated.

Personeel was heel vriendelijk en maakte er een leuke belevenis van. Er werd muziek gemaakt en gedanst. We hebben nog even kunnen zwemmen en daarna lekker wat gegeten. De excursie is een echte aanrader voor mensen die graag op het water zijn. We hebben zelf walvissen kunnen zien!

Service, crew en entertainment was heel goed. De tocht op zich stelde niet veel voor. De tussenstop was niet bijzonder, met snorkelen viel niets te zien. Ook geen walvissen gezien wat wel min of meer is gezegd door Tui medewerker in hotel. Het was meer drinken, dansen en eten. Daar kwamen wij iet voor.

Hotel pickup was by TUI coach. Make sure you arrive 5 mins before. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The dancing was great fun. The fizzy wine was nice and drinks free flowing. I am pleased I knew the catamaran only sailed around the island. The swim stop was nice and the towels very good. We had a lovely time

The staff put on a show on our way back which I wasn't expecting and it was really good! Plus the food was good and the catamaran was clean and comfortable. I didn't realise we had to get a dinghy to it though as this wasn't mentioned in the excursion description.

Loading on to the catamaran is extremely hard, although the staff are extremely helpful it’s definitely a struggle for most people transferring from the rib boat to the catamaran. Thankfully my mum cancelled at the last minute, even tho TUI staff said she would be fine getting onto the catamaran, otherwise she would have been embarrassed when trying to get on board. More info on wildlife would have been appreciated.

Heerlijk even op de oceaan. Leuk het eiland voor een gedeelte vanaf de oceaan te kunnen zien. Geen bultruggen gezien, zelfs niet in de verte. Snorkelen is op zich leuk, maar ook daarmee was niets te zien dan zand, wat afgebroken koraalstukjes en een paar kleine visjes....
