Get ready for a 4x4 adventure that'll take you well and truly off the beaten track. Explore rural corners of Crete and immerse yourself in nature as you rumble through the mountains on dirt tracks. Experience the heart of Crete – its rich mythology, diverse flora and fauna, and fascinating local life. Katerina, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Crete's crumpled mountain peaks echo with stories from Greek mythology - Zeus, the Greek god responsible for thunder and lightning, was born in a cave in Crete's mountains, and it was here on Crete that Theseus slayed the minotaur.'We start with a drive along scenic paths and olive groves, passing ancient relics as we climb through Crete's hills. We'll then call in at a small village where you can sample raki and olive oil with the locals. Cretan olive oil is prized for its purity and flavour, as well as its high polyphenol content and low acidity, which make it very healthy.From here, the real off-road adventure begins as we rumble into the mountains and follow an ancient trail used by shepherds to reach flocks high in the summer pastures. In simple shepherd's huts, fresh goat milk is used to make a tasty homemade cheese. Next, we'll visit a family-run taverna for a typical local lunch – a vegetarian option is also available – with unlimited wine. You'll discover another side of Crete with professional and informative drivers who will tell you all about their island - from local life and history to wildlife and cuisine. An excellent full day trip. Very knowledgeable guide who has an obvious passion for the job. Informed us of local flora and history of the area. Excellent driving to get us up some rather dicey mountain roads. Stop offs along the route were great as was the lunch. Would definitely recommend

Der Tourguide Leon war sehr nett, hat uns vieles wissenswertes über die Insel erzählt. Hat genügend Stops eingelegt und alle Fragen beantwortet. Nirgends wurde man zum Kauf von Waren gezwungen, es war alles freiwillig. Die Tour war ein tolles Erlebnis für uns. Das Mittagessen in der Taverne war sehr lecker und ausreichend. Auch da waren alle sehr nett. Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln

Stavros was a fantastic host driver for the day. We visited some lovely places with lots of stops to enjoy each area and take photos/have coffee etc. Lunch was traditional Cretan food with plenty of local wine and was delicious. Stavros gave us lots of information about Cretan history, mythology and local traditions. 10/10

Es war eine der interessantesten Touren , wir haben viel von der Natur gesehen , es wurde alles sehr gut beschrieben, wir haben eine alte Einwohnerin auf dem Berg begrüßen können , dort wurde noch Kräuter Salbe , Honig , Olivenöl hergestellt, es war sehr interessant zu sehen wie die Leute dort leben

Anastasius war wirklich ein toller Guide, der uns viel über Kreta erzählt hat. Die Stopps waren auch gut, ich hätte mir nur gewünscht, ein paar mehr Fotostopps in den Bergen zu machen, weil das aus dem fahrenden Wagen heraus nicht so gut klappt. Ansonsten war es wirklich ein toller Tag! Auch das Mittagessen in der Taverne war spitze!

Gefallen hat mir vor allem unseren Fahrer, der nebenbei sehr viel erzählt hat, super freundlich war, die Stops flexibel gestaltet hat und die Geländewagen wirklich toll gefahren ist. Ich hätte mir etwas mehr Bewegung im Tour integriert erwünscht. Die Geländewagen ist zu klein für 7 Leute, wenn mehrere große Männer dabei sind...

Wir waren zu viert (2 Erwachsene & 2 Jugendliche) bei der Tour dabei und haben uns in dem Mercedes Offroad Van sicher und komfortable gefühlt. Unser Fahrer Tas... war der beste Fahrer den man sich wünschen kann. Er ist ein sicherer Fahrer & sympathischer Mensch, welcher gut gelaunt und mit fundiertem Wissen, ständig über Land & Leute, Geschichte, sowie Vegetation & Tierwelt informiert hat. Das leckere Mittagessen war so üppig, sodass wir unser Abendessen ausfallen ließen ;-)

Es war insgesamt ein wunderschöner Tag vor allen Dingen unser Guide war richtig klasse. Leider haben wir ein sehr negatives Erlebnis mit dem gekauften Raki gemacht. Als wir gestern zu Hause angekommen sind, mussten wir feststellen, dass in dem Raki NUR WASSER war. Das hat uns sehr enttäuscht. Der Honig und die Calendulasalbe ist mit dem Artikel gefüllt der auch auf der Dose bzw. auf dem Glas stand. Nur leider, wie obe erwähnt, war bei dem Raki wirklich nur WASSER drin.

English Chris was the perfect host and guide. We couldn't have asked for a better day ?? Now as for TUI !!!! We were not give the correct pickup point on the app and the app told me the The Miramare Hotel wasn't a pickup when it is with other holiday companies. Our guide is frustrated with this as well. Fix it, it's not difficult!!!!

Diese Tour konnten wir rückenschonend mit einem Mercedes Vito machen. Diese Safari-Tour war spitze! Die Gründe: Christos hat uns sehr sicher auf den Straßen und Pisten gefahren, er gibt viele erhellende Infos an allen lohnenden Stationen, er ist sehr hilfsbereit und auskunftsfreudig. Nur 6-8 Teilnehmer, das Essen in der Taverne ist inklusive, die Etappenziele und die Landschaft sind faszinierend. Ein unvergesslich schöner Tag für uns! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Unser Holländer der keinen Käse mag war ein toller Tourguide (auch wenn er keinen Führerschein mehr hat ??) Wir haben uns zu jederzeit sicher gefühlt und die Tour war witzig, informativ und absolut empfehlenswert. Es gab zwar keine Heizdecken zu kaufen, dafür aber viel leckeren Raki, Olivenöl und das Essen in der Taverne war authentisch und mega lecker ?? Vielen Dank für einen anderen Blickwinkel auf Kreta und einen schönen Tag mit vielen Eindrücken...

Tolle Tour mit tollen Leuten. Sotiris als Guide ist super freundlich und weiß viel über die Insel.
Wir haben eine Menge über Kreta erfahren. Die beeindruckende Landschaft der Berge von Kreta wurde uns sehr nah gebracht. Die Tour ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Gerne wieder beim nächsten Besuch.

Excellent day out from start to finish, Darrell our guide was funny and extremely knowledgeable. Lunch was really good traditional Greek food, good for me to as a coeliac needing gluten free food. We learned so much over the day about the locals, the scenery and the way of life in Crete. If you only do one trip while in Crete make it this one .

Tolle Tour in kleiner Gruppe mit sehr motiviertem, deutschsprachigem Guide. Geeignet für (grössere) Kinder und Erwachsene. Unsere Kinder waren 9-11 Jahre alt und fanden es super. Sehr gutes Essen am Mittag! Persönliche Atmosphäre, tolles Offroad-Erlebnis!

Als stetiger TUI Urlauber war diese Tour die schlechteste . Der Guide war verantwortungslos gegenüber zusammengepferchten Passagieren . 2 Teilnehmer waren stark übergewichtig, so dass man gedrängt und zusammengepresst saß. So konnte auch kein Sitzplatzwechsel durchgeführt werden. Auf seine Fahrweise angesprochen, war seine Antwort : Ihr könnt euch ja ein Taxi nehmen. Glück hatte er auch ,dass er einen Hund nicht überfahren hat. Als Fahrlehrer habe ich ihn öfters auf seine Fahrweise hingewiesen
