What to expect
Enjoy a fun excursion to Mount Etna, the highest volcano in Europe and a UNESCO site since 2013. Leave Taormina with your tour guide on board a comfortable coach and reach the Etna station located at about 1.900 meters. After a technical stop, ascent up to the authorized crater zones at approximately 2,900 meters with the assistance of licensed guides of the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) who will escort you for a soft trekking.Stop in a designated safety zone to observe the activity of the summit craters, weather permitting. Warm clothing and suitable shoes are recommended and can be rented on site. Access to Etna's authorised crater areas is always escorted by guides from the Italian Alpine Club, who are responsible for visitors' safety and follow the decisions of the relevant authorities in response to changes in volcanic activity and permitted altitude.
