Get ready for a 4x4 adventure that'll take you well and truly off the beaten track. Explore rural corners of Crete and immerse yourself in nature as you rumble through the mountains on dirt tracks. Experience the heart of Crete – its rich mythology, diverse flora and fauna, and fascinating local life. Katerina, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Crete's crumpled mountain peaks echo with stories from Greek mythology - Zeus, the Greek god responsible for thunder and lightning, was born in a cave in Crete's mountains, and it was here on Crete that Theseus slayed the minotaur.'We start with a drive along scenic paths and olive groves, passing ancient relics as we climb through Crete's hills. We'll then call in at a small village where you can sample raki and olive oil with the locals. Cretan olive oil is prized for its purity and flavour, as well as its high polyphenol content and low acidity, which make it very healthy.From here, the real off-road adventure begins as we rumble into the mountains and follow an ancient trail used by shepherds to reach flocks high in the summer pastures. In simple shepherd's huts, fresh goat milk is used to make a tasty homemade cheese. Next, we'll visit a family-run taverna for a typical local lunch – a vegetarian option is also available – with unlimited wine. You'll discover another side of Crete with professional and informative drivers who will tell you all about their island - from local life and history to wildlife and cuisine.

Unser Tourguide Thomas war der Wahnsinn, er hat umso viel erzählt und gezeigt und auch seine Art hat uns alle zusammen geschweißt, jeder hat gelacht und die Stimmung war Bombe. Sollte ich so eine Tour nochmal nur mit anderer Strecke buchen dann nur wenn Thomas sie fährt :)

Wir waren zu viert (2 Erwachsene & 2 Jugendliche) bei der Tour dabei und haben uns in dem Mercedes Offroad Van sicher und komfortable gefühlt. Unser Fahrer Tas... war der beste Fahrer den man sich wünschen kann. Er ist ein sicherer Fahrer & sympathischer Mensch, welcher gut gelaunt und mit fundiertem Wissen, ständig über Land & Leute, Geschichte, sowie Vegetation & Tierwelt informiert hat. Das leckere Mittagessen war so üppig, sodass wir unser Abendessen ausfallen ließen ;-)

Es war insgesamt ein wunderschöner Tag vor allen Dingen unser Guide war richtig klasse. Leider haben wir ein sehr negatives Erlebnis mit dem gekauften Raki gemacht. Als wir gestern zu Hause angekommen sind, mussten wir feststellen, dass in dem Raki NUR WASSER war. Das hat uns sehr enttäuscht. Der Honig und die Calendulasalbe ist mit dem Artikel gefüllt der auch auf der Dose bzw. auf dem Glas stand. Nur leider, wie obe erwähnt, war bei dem Raki wirklich nur WASSER drin.

English Chris was the perfect host and guide. We couldn't have asked for a better day ?? Now as for TUI !!!! We were not give the correct pickup point on the app and the app told me the The Miramare Hotel wasn't a pickup when it is with other holiday companies. Our guide is frustrated with this as well. Fix it, it's not difficult!!!!

Diese Tour konnten wir rückenschonend mit einem Mercedes Vito machen. Diese Safari-Tour war spitze! Die Gründe: Christos hat uns sehr sicher auf den Straßen und Pisten gefahren, er gibt viele erhellende Infos an allen lohnenden Stationen, er ist sehr hilfsbereit und auskunftsfreudig. Nur 6-8 Teilnehmer, das Essen in der Taverne ist inklusive, die Etappenziele und die Landschaft sind faszinierend. Ein unvergesslich schöner Tag für uns! Absolut empfehlenswert!

Tolle Tour mit tollen Leuten. Sotiris als Guide ist super freundlich und weiß viel über die Insel.
Wir haben eine Menge über Kreta erfahren. Die beeindruckende Landschaft der Berge von Kreta wurde uns sehr nah gebracht. Die Tour ist uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Gerne wieder beim nächsten Besuch.

Excellent day out from start to finish, Darrell our guide was funny and extremely knowledgeable. Lunch was really good traditional Greek food, good for me to as a coeliac needing gluten free food. We learned so much over the day about the locals, the scenery and the way of life in Crete. If you only do one trip while in Crete make it this one .

Unser Guide Vassilis war top. Spricht verständlich deutsch, erklärt sehr viel und anschaulich. Er hat alle unsere Fragen sehr individuell beantwortet. Ist auf jeden Mitreisenden eingegangen. Kennt sich natürlich super aus und ist sicher auf jedem Untergrund gefahren. Die Stationen Olivenölproduktion, Schäfer mit Lecker Käse, das Mittagessen in der Taverne und auch das kretische Dorf waren sehr gut. Natürlich auch die Ausblicke auf die Berge und Täler. Wir haben sogar mehrere Geier gesehen. Top.

Vandalismus war der beste Guide den wir bekommen konnten. Er konnte uns alle Fragen beantworten die wir hatten. Sein Wissen von Kreta ist fantastisch. We enjoyed everything. It’s important that the parties travelling together get to know one another. This helps with the experience. Our driver Taki certainly helped us all to feel relaxed and comfortable with each other and made us feel comfortable with his driving experience too. The stops we made were informative and interesting. The meal was fantastic. Altogether a great day out. Would recommend to anyone even with mobility issues.

Unser Guide Jan hat viel spannendes erzählt. Dazwischen hat er Witze gemacht und die ganze Gruppe hatte viel zu lachen. Auch der Ort für die Olivenöl, Honig und Raki Degustation war toll. Der Guide ist zudem sehr angenehm Auto gefahren. Er war nie zu schnell unterwegs, wir haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt.

We vonden het geweldig. Men moet wel rekening houden met de vertrektijd. Je moet kijken naar de ontbijt tijden van het hotel. Wij moesten om 8:40 vertrekken en we konden pas vanaf 8:30 uur ontbijten. Dat is kort.

Die Spots der Tour waren super und haben einen schönen Überblick über die Insel vermittelt. Der Strand zum Baden war sehr schön gelegen, das Mittagessen hat geschmeckt. Was die Stimmung allerdings deutlich trübte, war unser Guide/Fahrer. Anstatt auf belegbaren Fakten über die Insel, Natur oder Mythologie einzugehen, wurden wir mit diversen Verschwörungstheorien bspw. zu politischer Korruption, Impfungen und Halbwahrheiten überhäuft, welche nichts mit der eigentlichen Tour zu tun hatten.

Der Guide war toll, studierter Dolmetscher, also perfekt Deutsch. Super gefahren, die Wahl den Bus zu nehmen war sicherlich die bessere Variante auf dem Weg in die Berge. Die unbefestigten Straßen schütteln einen doch gut durch. Man konnte überall probieren und auch das Essen in der Taverne war super. Alle Stopps waren gut ?? organisiert und wir sind sicher und voller toller Eindrücke von der Insel wieder im Hotel gelandet.

Our tour guide was really informative he had great knowledge of the areas , he gave us herbs pulled from the mountain side to smell . ( Tony ) . The goats , the shepherds , the vultures . Olive oil factory , cheese tasting it was all very worth the money we paid . Lunch was great .

Es war ein rundherum tolles Erlebnis, wunderschöne Natur, idyllische Bergdörfer, in denen man auch ein wenig Zeit hatte, sich umzusehen. Wir hatten eine sehr gute Verkostung in einem kleinen Berdorf von Raki, Käse, Honig, ohne, dass man gedrängt wurde, etwas zu kaufen. Das Mittagessen war lecker, umfangreich und authentisch mit Wasser, Wein und Raki. Es war ein tolles Erlebnis.

Was naar wens, lunch was ook goed. Eén punt er was ons niet verteld dat het museum niet bij de prijs in zat, vind eigenlijk dat dit gewoon in de excursie hoord te zitten.

arrivée désapointé car le cadenat de ma valise avait été enlevé ??? la chambre très bien sauf la porte a glissière qui ne fermait pas , elle bloquait avant la fin de son parcourt , il a fallut 3 interventions donc 3 jours pour que la télé de la chambre fonctionne ? l'ensemble de l'hotel était très bien , la restauration au dela de ce que nous espérions , les sorties et les accompagnants super professionnels
