Climb into a comfy 4x4 with A/C and head off the beaten track into the rugged interior of Thassos. This is where the island sheds its beachside polish and reveals something wilder, rocky trails, dense forests, and pockets of rustic tradition. As the road climbs, you'll pass remote hamlets and mountain slopes with views that stretch far across the island. Local guide, Tina, say, "Your first stop is Kastro, a sleepy hilltop village that feels like it's been forgotten by time. Wander narrow stone lanes, visit the old church, and take in the raw, authentic charm of this hidden gem. Next, head to Panagouda Monastery, quietly nestled in the hills. It's home to Monk Epifanios, who's lived here alone for over 30 years. The setting is tranquil, stripped-back, and deeply rooted in the island's spiritual rhythm.Then it's up to Ipsarion, Thassos' highest peak at 1204 meters. The summit offers wide, open views across the island, the sea, and even the mainland on a clear day. On the way back down, stop for a simple snack among the trees. Finish the day with a visit to Maries Village, where you can stroll through quiet streets and relax in the main square, maybe catching the soft light of sunset before heading back.

Mir hat die Inselrundfahrt insgesamt gut gefallen.. Der Fahrer sprach sehr gut deutsch und hat sich sehr bemüht.. Leider bekamen wir keinen Snack und die Rundfahrt dauerte auch keine 7 Stunden wie angegeben.. Vom Kloster hatte ich mir mehr versprochen.. Wir haben nichts gesehen, nur den Eingangsbereich, wo man etwas kaufen konnte.. Keine Räume.. nichts. Zu kurz.. Für den stolzen Preis habe ich mehr Sehenswertes erwartet.. Fahrer wie gesagt war super..

Den Ausflug hatten wir auf Deutsch grebucht, Beide Fahrer konnten kein Wort Deutsch.. Wir erhielten keinerlei Erläuterungen zu dem was wir unternehmen. Wir wurden in ein halbzerfallenes Dorf, in ein Einmannkloster an einen Teich zum Fische füttern und auf einen Berg gefahren, ohne einen kulturellen Hintergrund zu erfahren. Nach dem Berg wurden wir noch zu einer verschlossenen Jägerbaude gefahren, wo uns ein belegtes Baguette gereicht wurde. Nach dieser Rast wurden wir noch in ein Dorf in eine k

Uns wurde eine geführte deutsch-sprachige Tour verkauft. Der Reiseführer sprach allerdings nur Englisch. Die besuchten Sehenswürdigkeiten wurden nur rudimentär erklärt. Das hätten wir auch allein hinbekommen.

The tour guide Fanis was amazing, he was friendly helpful interesting and looked after us really well with food and drinks too. We had such a great conversation with him. And all the little stops were lovely, such a nice memory from our holiday. Fanis was amazing. I have nothing negative apart from the road was really bumpy, it's a shame that it can't be resurfaced properly.

Gute Gelegenheit etwas von der Insel zu sehen. Der Fahrer hat uns in Golden Beach abgeholt und ist super sicher gefahren. Der Besuch des Klosters, der 360-Grad-Blick vom Ipsarion und am Schluss der Besuch des Dörfchens Maries waren toll. Kastro hat als Startpunkt wenig zu bieten, Stausee auf dem Weg auf den Ipsarion gibt wenig her. Beim Snack gegen 13:15 hätten wir uns nach der Abfrage beim Buchen nach Allergien auf Käse und Salami etwas authentisches lokales gewünscht, keinen 0815 Sandwich!

Gebucht war eine deutsche Führung. Guide war der Fahrer des anderen KFZ, der ausschließlich und teils schwer verständlich englisch sprach. Er unterhielt sich vorwiegend mit den Insassen seines Fahrzeugs, kaum mit uns. Es kamen kaum Informationen im Vergleich zu anderen Guides, die mit anderen Gruppen unterwegs waren. In dieser Form von uns nicht zu empfehlen.

Wir hatten eine wirklich sehr nette, kompetente deutsche Reiseführerin, die uns sehr sicher über die anspruchsvolle Piste auf den Berg gebracht hat. Es gab auf der Tour durch die Bergdörfer viele tolle Eindrücke. Schon die Strecke war ein echtes Erlebnis und auf dem Ipsarion hatten wir eine atemberaubende Aussicht!

Sehr netter Fahrer, fährt sicher und routiniert. Feste Schuhe anziehen ! Bitte unbedingt für des Kloster (als Frau) einen längeren Rock und eine Schulterbedeckung mitnehmen; der Fahrer hat entgegen der Aussagen von der Reiseleitung NICHTS dabei. Sandwich wie vorabbestellt & genügend Wasser bekommt man.

Amazing trip, loved the whole day. Spectacular views from Ipsarion , top of the island, “wow”, an amazing view of all of Thassos. Great driver who made us feel very safe, very experienced and pointed out landmarks. Loved the mountain villages and monastery. The day was packed and the experience amazing, we loved every minute. The whole team of drivers/ guides were friendly , relaxed and informative. Thank you, totally recommend this trip.

Toller Guide Nikos Preis Leistung Verhältnis könnte besser werden Man fährt ins Landesinnere und sieht ein wenig ursprüngliches. Für den Preis könnte auch ein Mittagsmenu dabei sein und nicht nur ein paar Sandwiches

Nikos our guide was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and courteous. The car was clean and reliable. We enjoyed the snack in the mountain shelter. Nikos bought us back via the coast road and showed us many nice beaches and tavernas to visit. We would recommend this trip to anyone.

The drivers were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. The stops were well planned and really interesting. We visited places that wouldn't be easily accessible in a hire car. It was a great day out and we learnt a lot about the island. The snack mentioned in the trip description was a cheese/ham roll and bottle of water which was very welcome. We also stopped at a lovely taverna where we could buy drinks.

I loved the whole holiday experience, the transfer from the hotel to the ferry. We were told to be 15 minutes early, but they came earlier than that, and the driver was rushing us and shouting at me as he grabbed my suitcase out of my hand. My thumb was still in the handle, and he was so rough, her really hurt my thumb after about three days of soreness. It's now fine, thankfully. I was being rushed, and we were still 45 minutes early for the ferry. I reported this to the rep.

Die Guides waren super und man konnte sich auf Englisch verständigen. Leider gab es nach der Fahrt zum Berg Sandwiches und eine lange Pause. Anschließend sind wir in ein Dorf gefahren und haben in einer Taverne gesessen. Es wäre viel schöner gewesen, wenn wir dort gegessen hätten. Durch das Sandwich war man aber satt und hat vor Ort nur ein Getränk bestellt. Die Tour wäre authentischer, wenn man das Mittagessen auf eigene Kosten in einer Taverne verlegen würde.

It's a long day but the vehicle had great air-conditioning, essential in the conditions. The guide was excellent, knowledgeable and witty all through the day. The walk to the top, though short, can be tricky so care is needed. The views are spectacular, well worth the effort. A splendid day out to have a break from the beach.

Fantastic trip, which enabled us to visit beautiful areas of the island we would never otherwise have reached. Nicos was a top quality guide and driver. We were lucky enough to only have four people on our trip, so pretty comfortable in the 4x4, considering the very bumpy and narrow, twisting roads. I think it may have been a bit cramped had they taken six, as the second row of rear seats were quite cramped, but thankfully that wasn't an issue for us. We thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Der Fahrer Fannis hat sehr viel erklärt in einem verständlichem Englisch. War alles mit viel Humor und Spaß. Einzig vor dem Männerkloster gab es ein Problem. Uns wurde gesagt, der Fahrer hat Tücher um die kurzen Hosen zu verdecken, er dachte wir hätten was dabei.

Wir waren mit 2 Guides unterwegs und keiner konnte weder Deutsch, noch Französisch und wir sprechen kein Englisch. Das heißt das wir vom ganzen Ausflug nichts verstanden haben. Der eine Mann meinte das die Österreichische Touristen die dabei waren uns alles übersetzen sollen. Ich finde das unverschämt. Der Ausflug war ein FLOP

Es war alles sehr schön, die Natur ,die Landschaft und die Freundlichkeit der griechischen Einwohner hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Leider wurde nicht wie zugesagt, die Tour auf deutsch durchgeführt. Enjoyed 4 x 4 tour and stops Not too keen on lack of toilet breaks. One stop unnecessary just to eat a sandwich of which there was no choice. Contained HAM so couldnt be eaten anyway. Better to have gone from Ipsarion straight to Maries

Absolut lohnenswerte Ausflug. Unser Fahrer Nikos kommt von der Insel und hat uns super viel Informationen gegeben. Wir finden die Fahrt hoch zum Gipfel anspruchsvoll und aus diesem Grund sollten Touristen nicht alleine nach oben dürfen. Besser als das Sandwich wäre vielleicht oben kleine griechische Spezialitäten, wie Oliven, Käse Obst. Man sollte allerdings ausdrücklich drauf hinweisen, dass die Tour auf englisch ist. Für uns kein Problem für andere ggf schon.

The day and guide were great but it was the duration of the stops, it felt like we were permanent rushed along at the best points and not enough time to enjoy them. Especially at the top of the Mountain and Lake Marion. More time at these locations would have been good as it took half the day getting up there and only about 30mins at the destination. An opportunity to stop for a drink would have been good too.

The whole experience was really good in that we visited and was able to see different parts of the island. The guide was helpful, knowledgeable and at a couple of points during the day gave us different options. My negative would be the size of the car, with 4 passengers there was very little room in the back seat with myself and 2 large ladies. I was under the impression that we would be in a larger jeep or Range Rover size 4*4. It was a tight squeeze in the back of the car to say the least.

First of all I must say the guide and driver were great. What let it down the tour down was the lack of detail given by Tui and the shocking state of the car! How, at the beginning of the season can you have a car with pretty much bold tyres and making a god awful smell from the back drivers side, don’t know if it was the clutch or something but I didn’t feel safe in the car going up that massive hill with a little baby. Thankful the drive was very skilled but this car shouldn’t have been used!

Gut gefallen hat uns unserer Fahrer Nikos. Er war sehr informativ und umsichtig beim Fahren. Die Strecke war gut ausgewählt und es gab auch Tipps für Anlaufpunkte in den einzelnen Dörfern (Tavernen etc.). Nicht gefallen hat uns der Snack (ein lappriges Sandwich). Besser weglassen und vielleicht in eine Taverne gehen.

Der Ausflug war sehr interessant und gut organisiert. Waren mit 2 PKW's unterwegs mit einem deutschsprachigen Mitarbeiter. Für 4 große Gäste ist der PKW etwas eng (zu dritt hinten für die lange Zeit, aber es gab ja noch eine weitere Sitzreihe). Der zweite Fahrer konnte gut Englisch. Das das Kloster wegen Krankheit geschlossen hatte, war schade. Ein Hinweis zu Beginn der Fahrt, dass es erst am letzten Punkt Toiletten gibt, wäre für einige hilfreich gewesen.

Great day out, friendly driver. Beautiful views. well worth the journey. Loved mount ipsarion. Car had 4 people and plenty room. AC not great. Would have liked time at the end to look around the village. Didnt go to the waterfall (as knew it was not really flowing) and the driver had to phone the office to say we didnt want to go. In the end he 'let us' alter the itinerary by walking around the village. A bit more flexibility would have been better from the company to offer this at the outset.

The guide Fansi was excellent. Very informative and stopped to show us interesting things along the way. He was helpful and funny. He made the trip.

Tui have listened to negative reviews from last year, increased the price and bit & reduced the amount of passengers from 6 to 4.

Nick the driver was amazing. Very skilled and knowledgable. Trip was excellent great views and worth the long bumpy and windy road.

Absolutely loved this trip, probably more enjoyable if you get to sit in the front seat. It is very bumpy and you do get thrown about a bit. But the views from the top of the mountain are well worth it.

Der Fahrer (Nikos) war ausgezeichnet. Sehr gut nett und freundlich . Positiv überrascht, er war sehr engagiert . Seine Wissen von der Insel und wie er uns alles erzählt hat. Top ein sehr guter Mitarbeiter.

Das angebotene Sandwich war leider überhaupt nicht gut. Weiter wurde uns gesagt, dass es auch Trinken während der Tour geben würde, dies war bis auf eine Bergquelle nicht so. Überragend war unser Guide. Er erklärte viel in einem verständlichen Griechisch-Englisch und war sehr engagiert seine Insel uns näher zu bringen und er fuhr sehr sehr sicher! Zum Abschluss ist er mit uns in seine versteckte und sehr leckere Lieblingstaverne eingekehrt.

Der Guide war ausgesprochen nett und der Ausblick vom Berg war auch sehenswert. Wir hatten allerdings bei der Jeep-Tour einen echten Jeep erwartet. Stattdessen fuhren wir in einem sehr alten Allradauto, mit vermutlich kaputten Stoßdämpfern. Man ist viele Stunden mit dem Auto auf äußerst holprigem Gelände unterwegs. Darüber sollten die Gäste vorher informiert werden. Für Menschen mit Rückenproblemen ist absolut abzuraten! Auch erschien uns der Preis von 396€ für 4 Personen doch recht hoch.
