What to expect
It's all about Crete's wild side on this tour. You'll come face-to-face with monkeys, meerkats lemurs and more at Amazonas Park nature reserve and see a world below the waves with a glass-bottom boat trip. And in between, there's free time to chill out in Agios Nikolaos.Your destination for the morning is Amazonas Park, an animal refuge, where you'll get up-close to some of the world's most unusual, beautiful and endangered animals. You'll also find out about their rainforest environments, and how we can help with conservation efforts.At Agios Nikolaos town, you'll have a couple of hours to shop or grab lunch overlooking Mirabello Bay. Next, hop on to a glass-bottom boat for a trip in the bay. You'll glide out into the bay aboard a semi-submarine which features windows beneath the surface. Kids and adults will have a great time spotting the likes of loggerhead sea turtles and multicoloured fish darting around the rocks.

Two things I'd never done before. Go on a glass bottom boat which was a brilliant experience. I didn't have high expectaions for the Amazonas rescue centre but what I hadn't realised was that we would be going into the Lemur's enclosure and feeding them. What an absolutely amazing experience, and one to cherish fir a long time. You buy a plastic cup of fruit and veg and they come a jump on your shoulders and pick out their favourite bits. Got lots of photos and videos. The Lemur's are so gentle

Die Tourführerin war sehr nett, nur die Männer auf dem Glasboot waren nicht besonders freundlich. Am Morgen hätte ich den Touristen ein kleiner Snack verteilt, da die Tour früh startete und die meisten in der Unterkunft noch nichts essen konnten. Ja was soll ich sagen, die besten Bedingungen herrschen nicht für die Tiere im Park, aber das hat mich in diesem Falle nichts besonders überrascht, wenn man dort die Zoofachhandel anschaut...ein schöner Ausflug.

Also unser Guide Yanis, war zuerst mal 20 Minuten zu spät, dann hat er sehr viel geredet. Und sehr schnell., wir haben nicht alles verstanden. Für das was es war ohne Essen und Getränke 172 Euro, sehr teuer.

Der Bus hatte etwa 30 Minuten Verspätung. Auf dem Boot war es viel zu eng (zu viele Leute). Die Abfahrt mit dem Bus zum Amazonaspark verzögerte sich auch um 20 Minuten (weil es vier von ca. 50 Teilnehmer) wiederum nicht schafften pünktlich zu sein. Die zu hohe Teilnehmerzahl wirkte sich auch im sehr kleinen Amazonaspark negativ aus. Der Preis war viel zu hoch. Auf den offiziellen Webseiten des Glassbodenbootes und des Parks sind die Preise für zwei Erwachsene und drei Kinder ca. ein Drittel.

Auf dem Glasboot Katamaran sieht man nur an den nach außen gerichteten Fenstern die Fische schön sehen. Der Zoo besteht ist nicht sehr groß Hauptsächlich Papageien und Äffchen und am Hang gebaut es könnte also etwas steil sein für ältere Urlauber, aber die Fütterung der Lemuren ist ein echtes Highlight. Ein unbeschreibliches Gefühl wenn so ein Tierchen auf der Schulter sitzt, sich seine Früchte aus dem Becherchen angelt und glücklich vor sich hin schmatzt. Vielen Dank TUI für das Erlebnis :)

Enjoyed glass bottomed boat experience, amazing to see what's under the sea. We saw lots of different kinds of fish plus a Moray eel and barracuda. The free time in Agios Nikolaous was fine as we went for lunch and did a little shopping. Amazonas Animal Park in the mountains is interesting if you're an animal lover, however the park is quite steep to get around for those with mobility issues. We saw plenty of monkeys, birds, meerkats, lemurs, tortoises.

The whole holiday experience has been poor tui rep didn't lets us they were here we had hunt and track them down to book the excursion then we couldn't attend due to my son and myself being sick- we couldn't tell the rep as he was nowhere to be found till the following day and had to bring the the out hours number which was unhelpful. So no the experience was very poor even the staff at the hotel no help. So no won't be recommending you to anyone.

Bus Transfer, wie fast immer, viel zu lang. Hinzu 2h, rückzu 1¾h. Mit dem Glasbodenboot hat man nur bedingt etwas gesehen. Die Außen saßen konnten die meisten Fische beobachten, allerdings wenig verschiedene Arten. Der Zoo,nur von Spenden und Einnahmen finanziert, ist klein, aber schön angelegt. Die Käfige sind ebenfalls nicht sehr groß. Mit der Lemuren Fütterung....naja? Wenn man keine großen Erwartungen hat, kann man die Tour machen. Mit kleineren Kindern dies genau überlegen!

Glass bottomed boat if you sat in one direction all you saw was the other side of the catamaran. All you saw were the same breed of fish. Amazonas was really good but way to rushed. Didn't actually get to enjoy seeing the different birds etc. feeding lemurs was amazing but very much felt it was like a conveyor belt of people

Had to wait at another hotel for a no show couple. Waited too long in my opinion. Agios Nikolaos for sub experience was good saw some nice fishes and lovely trip back on top back to mariner. 2 hours free time. Lovely place lake/coffee and shopping for us. Nice drive up mountains to Amazonas park. Small park, mainly birds but the Lemur feeding was an amazing experience! I loved it! Our guide Yannis was friendly and knowledgeable. Driver Dimitri, excellent. We enjoyed our experience a lot.

Bus hatte ca 20 min Verspätung, warten in der prallen Sonne an stark befahrener Straße ist als Schwangere und mit 4 jährigem Kind nicht lustig. Glasbodenboot Mitarbeiter waren eher unfreundlich und man ist ins UG gepfercht worden. Es wurden die Passagiere zwar abgezählt aber wenn der Großteil einfach mehr als 100kg körpergewicht mitbrachte, blieb da kein Platz mehr zu atmen. Nach innen gerichtet hat man 0,0 Sicht. Also das Geld hat mich wirklich geärgert was wir dafür ausgegeben haben!!

Der Aufenthalt im Amazonas Park war etwas zu kurz. Hilfreich wäre auch ein Hinweis, das es kein normaler Zoo ist. Weniger Besucher im Gehege bei der Futterung wären auch gut.

Chrissie was amazing throughout this trip; very friendly, warm and informative. The glass boat trip was excellent for the children to see lots of fish and going on the top deck for the second half let us take in the scenery. The Amazonas Park was very good too, although it would have been nice to have more time there. Lots of animals and the opportunity to feed the lemurs. Would definitely book again.

Die Boat- Tour, war kurz spannend und wurde schnell langweilig. Man sieht wenig vor allem wenn man auf der Seite zur Mitte sitzt, da man die zweite Kabine gegenüber hat. Der Amazonas Park ist sehr klein, sie lassen auch viel Zuviel Menschen auf einmal in das Affen Gehege, die Chance mal ein Affe längere Zeit zu füttern o. auf seine Schultern sitzen zu haben ist sehr gering, auch großer Stress für die Tiere ….

Der Guide war sehr gut. Die tour an sich allerdings leider nicht. Auch weitere Gäste hatten andere Erwartungen durch die vorab Infos. statt mit den glassboot zum Amazonaspark tu fahren ist das Glassboot eine vorab Veranstalltung bevor es mit den Bus weiter zum Zoo geht. Die Hauptakration des Zoo (Lumunen füttern) konnte durch die hohe Anzahl im Gehege nicht wirklich genossen werden. Mir taten die Tiere eher leid.

Die Tour mit dem Glasbodenboot war äußerst interessant und die Erklärungen waren sehr gut. Besonders die Ausführungen zur Entstehung der Unterwasserwelt waren faszinierend. Im Gegensatz dazu empfand ich den nachfolgenden Besuch im Amazonas-Park als sehr stressig. Es gab nicht genug Zeit, um den Park in Ruhe zu erkunden. Zudem war der Bereich zur Affen-Fütterung stark überfüllt. Es wäre daher sinnvoll, die Reihenfolge zu ändern: zuerst den Amazonas-Park zu besichtigen und die Bootstour danach

Unser TuiGuide war sehr engagiert und herzlich! Die BootsTour war OK, kein Glasboden-nur Fenster unterwasser, man hat nicht soviel gesehen wie erwartet, dafür war die Rückfahrt auf Deck sehr angenehm und schön durch die Aussicht. Kurze Freizeit in Agios Nikolaos, dann weiter zum AmazonasPark, alle Vögel waren in sehr kleinen Käfigen ohne Grün, die Lemuren hatten ein Gehege, man konnte Futter für 4€ kaufen für Fotos. Allgm zu empfehlen, Abzüge beziehen sich auf die Orte, nicht auf den TuiService

Die Reiseleiterin hat sich wirklich große Mühe gegeben, genau so wie der Busfahrer. Die Zeiten wurde exakt eingehalten, allerdings war das Glasbodenboot überfüllt und es passten keinen Menschen mehr in die zwei Glaskammern. Die Mitarbeiter des Bootes waren leicht genervt haben sich aber trotzdem Mühe gegeben. Es gab noch zwei Stunden Freizeit in Agios Nikolaos was gar nicht kommuniziert aber trotzdem in Ordnung war und zum Schluss noch der Amazonas Park, der wirklich absolut nichts war…

Mit der Attraktion der Affen gefiel es nicht, dass, was angekündigt war, erfüllte sich nicht. Zu viele Menschen auf einmal. Affen hatten kein Interesse mehr. Kinder waren enttäuscht. Käfige für Papageien zu klein. Glasboot: zu lange Wartezeit bis es los ging.

The whole trip was great. The glass bottom boat was excellent and we enjoyed having the time below deck but also above too. We loved Agios Nikolaos as a town. Amazona Park was quite nice but it was so busy that there were too many people in the lemur enclosure so they weren’t very hungry!

Transfers and guides where fantastic very informative. Didn't get much time at amazonia zoo felt a little rushed the children enjoyed trying to get the lemur to climb on them which was the highlight of the trip. Information given on glass bottom was very interesting although not alot seen from the inside of boat .

Pas grand chose à voir sous l eau , pas assez de temps a nikolaus et parc animalier nul, avec un guide en anglais nous n avions pas compris qu il fallait de la nourriture pour attirer les singes et qd mon fils est redescendu pour aller en chercher, c était trop tard , donc résultat aucuns singes n est venu près de nous , et dernière chose temps dans le car bcp trop long

Es war schön mal die Unterwasserwelt Kretas zu entdecken, man muss aber bei Wind auch etwas Magenfit sein. Wir persönlich fanden die 2h Aufenthalt in Agios Nikolaos zu kurz. Hätte gern noch eine Stunde länger dauern können, damit noch etwas stöbern in den Geschäften möglich ist. Wir waren erst baden und haben dann sehr lecker am Strand gegessen. Leider war die Zeit dann schon rum. Der Amazonaspark wäre ratsam zuerst zu besuchen. Bei uns waren die Lemuren dann schon satt und wollten nichts mehr.

Eigentlich ein schöner Ausflug, aber leider wurden englisch als auch deutsch Sprachige Teilnehmer in einen Bus gesetzt, dadurch musste der Guide immer alles 2 mal erzählen. Für den Ausglug viel zuviele Teilnehmer, im Boot hatten die die innen saßen nur wenig Freude am Geschehen da sie nur Felsen zu und Meeresgrund zu Gesicht bekamen. Die außen Seite bekam jedoch sehr viel an Fischen zu sehen. Im Amazonas Park zum Affen füttern leider das selbe Problem durch die vielen Teilnehmer.

Kleiner Zoo an einem Berghang. Die Fütterung der Lemuren ist das Highlight. Die eine Stunde vor Ort vergeht viel zu schnell. Beim Glasbodenboot muss man auf der Fütterungsseite sitzen.Dort sind dann viele Fische zu sehen.Sitzt man auf der andere Seite des Bootes, hat man Pech (eingeschränkte Sicht und kaum Fische).

The boat was great for our 17 month old but the Amazonas park wasn’t good it’s difficult with a buggy as it’s very hilly and you can’t take younge children re in to the Larmas it’s not what was advertised. We also was placed in the middle of a protest by the guide the tour should never have gone ahead we got peeper sprayed including the baby I am very disappointed with TUI to allow the trip to go ahead we should have been given the opportunity to change it as the guide knew all about the protest

Price was fair and I felt we had value for money. The guide was good, unexpected trip and time in Agios nikolaos. The zoo is small and very very hilly, which would help if that was flagged as anyone with mobility restrictions would really struggle. But a great day out.

Mir haben die Limuren leid getan. Sie werden mit vollen Bechern mit frischem Obst und Gemüse von den Touristen nur so bedrängt. Wir waren dort nachmittags und haben den Käfig so voll erlebt, dass man nicht fußen konnte. Den Tieren bleibt ja nichts anderes übrig, als auf den Touristen herum zu klettern. Zudem waren diese so satt, dass sie nur noch Salat aus den Bechern gefischt haben. Ein ganzer Bus Leute in einem viel zu kleinen Gehege. Hier sollte mal an das Tierwohl gedacht werden.

Diese Tour hat sich überhaupt nicht gelohnt-schade. Der Teil im Amazonas-Park war schön, jedoch war dies auch schon alles. Auf dem Glas-Bottom-Boat sah man je nach Seite nichts, es war sehr eng und eine unangenehme Atmosphäre. Von versprochenen Schildkröten keine Spur. Die Reiseleitung im Bus mit katastrophalem Englisch (mir als Deutsche haben die Ohren geblutet), laberte die ganze Fahrt lang und wiederholte in beiden Sprachen alles zweimal. Die Fütterung der Lemuren war eine tolle Erfahrung!

Hier die Eindrücke des Ausfluges. Abholung war auch beim zweiten Ausflug zu spät, wieder Anfahrt zu vielen Hotels. Fahrzeit somit wieder nicht angemessen und zu lange. Glasbodenfahrt ist eine Zumutung. Es wird mit vielen Meeresbewohnern geworben (Schildkröten,...) nichts davon bekommt man zu Gesicht. Fische werden angefüttert, sonst würde man auch gar keine sehen. sehr schlecht und viel zu teuer. Ausflug in den Ort ist gut, jedoch zu kurz. Amazonas Park ist sehenswert, Affen hatten keinen Hunger

Das Preis Leistung Verhältnis stimmt gar nicht. Man ist mehr im Bus unterwegs. Das Ausflug mit dem Boot ist an sich ganz interessant. Tiere sind aber nur da solange Futter von oben ins Wasser geschmissen wird. Der Amazonas Park ist eigentlich nicht besonders sehenswert. Es wird damit geworben das es viele Papageien und Lemuren gibt. Die Papageien haben Käfige von ca. 2x1m das kann nicht artgerecht sein. Bei den Lemuren muss man für 4€ einen obstbecher kaufen der keine 50 Cent wert ist.

Den Amazonas Park können wir sehr empfehlen. Die Glasbodenbootstour war für uns eine Enttäuschung, wir sind leider mit anderen Erwartungen herran gegangen.

Die Reiseführern war super, bei dem Glasboot hatten wir den Platz nach innen war schade, sahen so gut wie keine Fische. Im Amazonas Park war es sehr schön ,kann man sich anschauen.

Overall a very good day out. The glass bottom boat trip was enjoyable and we got to see a lot of fish and interesting rock bed formations.This was followed by a nice free time period which allowed us to grab a bite to eat and browse the local shops and take in the scenery. The second part of the day was the visit to Amazonas Park and my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the park and we also very much liked our friendly and highly informative tour guide, she was knowledgeable and very helpful.

Fijne excursie met uitleg onderweg en ter plaatse. Het park is vermakelijk maar niet overdreven groot. Het voederen van de aapjes is leuk. Verwacht geen grote zoo maar leuk tijdverdrijf. De glasbodemboot is ook leuk. Je ziet heel wat vissen. Leuke uitstap met kinderen. Alleen is het wel ver rijden als je links van Heraklion verblijft (bv. Fodele Beach). De reistijd is dan enkel ongeveer 2u. Je zit dan erg lang in de bus voor deze uitstap.

Loved the Amazonas experience and time in Agios Nikolas. The glass bottom boat was OK ... we were facing inwards and couldn't see very much. Being seated facing away would have been a very different experience.

The day was a very long day and it seemed we spent more time on the coach than we did doing the activities. With a toddler this wasn’t ideal and it wasn’t mention anywhere that you could potentially spend 3 hours of the day sitting on the coach picking people up and getting to the boat and Amazona Park. That said the boat was good and we loved feeding the Lemurs albeit we were only at the park for about an hour.

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Man muss sehr lange fahren (ca 2 Std) bis zum ersten Ereignis (Bootstour) und dieses ist nicht sehr Ereignisreich... Der Amazonaspark war den Eintritt leider auch nicht wert, da man in jedem Zoo in Deutschland für das Geld mehr bekommt, und es keine Tiere zu sehen gab, die man nicht auch Zuhause halten könnte.

The tour guide was fantastic but the full trip itself was not very good and would not recommend to others. The boat trip is short and the full day was more just at a town wondering around. The Amazonas park is tiny and not really worth going. Not good value for money at all. The boat trip would of been better if it stops off and can swim Around.
