Once a hunting palace of the Umayyads, this beautifully restored building boasts 8th-century frescoes depicting scenes of decadence, including nude women, wine, and parties.Next, you'll visit Qasr Al-Kharanah, a commanding two-level fortress standing alone in a vast plain. Believed to have been built on Roman foundations, this mysterious castle showcases a rich blend of Mesopotamian, Arabic, and Greek architectural influences.Your journey continues to Qasr Al-Azraq, initially an Umayyad hunting retreat and later used as a headquarters by the Arab Revolt leader more commonly known as Lawrence of Arabia.Finally, you'll head to the 12th-century Castle of Ajloun, erected during Saladin's reign to defend against Crusader armies.
