What to expect
After pick-up, you will be transferred to the starting point of the hike. The impressive Galicica Mountain forms a natural boundary between Lake Ohrid and Lake Prespa and is protected as one of North Macedonia's national parks. With its vast landscapes and rich biodiversity, this area is considered one of the country's most beautiful natural treasures. The mountain's highest peak, Magaro, reaches an altitude of 2,254 meters.The hike begins along the forested slopes of the Galicica Mountains, accompanied by an experienced mountain guide. Along the trail, you'll encounter diverse flora and fauna and enjoy several breathtaking viewpoints overlooking Lake Ohrid, lying nearly 500 meters below.The route passes through three traditional mountain villages, where you'll learn about local life and the remarkable ways residents have endured the region's harsh winters throughout history.After approximately 1.5 hours of hiking and 2 kilometers of scenic trails, you'll arrive at a secluded beach, accessible only by boat. Here, you'll have free time to relax on sun beds, which are included in the tour, or take a refreshing swim—so don't forget to bring your swimming gear and towel. There is also a beachside restaurant where you may choose to enjoy lunch at your own expense while soaking in the tranquil surroundings before the return journey.

Fantastic trip! The guide was amazing. I really enjoyed the walk, it was a little bit tougher than expected but I had decent shoes on, which you absolutely need, not beach shoes. After the walk you're taken to a boat and then off to a restaurant. The food was great and I loved the free time at the beach for a good 90 minutes. My only comment for consideration is that it was a very long time before the first toilet opportunity.

Would definitely recommend this trip. The guide was very good and very knowledgeable ~ sharing insights into Macedonian nature and culture. The walk through the mountains and villages was excellent and beach time at the end finished the day off

Great guide and very engaging. Bitterly disappointed that tour finished an hour earlier than planned (back at hotel for 3pm) and in rush to get on boat I lost my ear phones as thought I had more leisure time.

Very interesting walk between villages high up on the mountain. The guide knew the local area well, showed several local herbs Not a taxing walk and the more elderly participants had no trouble. The trip included the bay of bones museum stop on the way to lunch after the walk, which doesnt need seperate trip. The lunch was very good. Due to high winds & rain we finished early without beach, this beyond guides control so check forecast if beach time important to you as part of excursion.

The walk was about the correct distance for a hot morning. The views were lovely. We had lunch included but the menu could have more items for vegetarians. We had over an hour at the beach before the boat back maybe a little long.

Geen airco in de bus bij meer dan 30 graden. Weinig plaats aan tafel. Geen vermelding dat zwemkledij en/of boek je wel kon gebruiken bij laatste stopplaats. We zagen maar 1 echt oud Macedonisch dorpje. Jammer.

Je moet deze wandeling niet op slippers of simpele sneakers doen. Wandelschoenen zijn aan te bevelen omdat de wandeling ook over minder goede paden gaat. Had meer wandeling verwacht en minder bus zitten ??
