First up is a coastal tour of Cotubanama National Park, then you'll stop at a natural pool for a dip before heading to the beach for lunch and free time. Ramon, one of our expert guides, says, ‘Our priority is to protect our pristine environment and all the species that make Saona so special. We were the first country to protect manatees by law, and we have a turtle conservation programme here on the island, too.'After a relaxing cruise over to Saona, the sightseeing can begin in earnest. You'll cruise the shoreline of the Cotubanama National Park while your local guide points out the island wildlife. See the rocks of El Peñón, and then glide through the Catuano channel. Next, it's time to cool off in the azure water of the natural pools, formed by sandbanks in the open sea. The water is such a tempting shade of blue you won't be able to resist.Docking at one of Saona Island's fabulous beaches, you'll step off the boat for some beach time. There's the Caribbean for paddling, soft white sand to dip your toes in, and a volleyball pitch to play on. Or you could take the simplest option and just stretch out in the sun. The pick up in the morning was a bit early. We were stood around at the marina/harbour for an hour and a half before we were eventually allowed to board the speedboat. Other than that a very enjoyable day

Tout etait parfait pour nous . C était magnifique. Seul bémol c est qu il faut toujours donner des pourboires . Aller sur le bateau retour sur le bateau . Au bar sur l île . Pour le chauffeur de bus .

The trip was fantastic all transfers were great ,food was enjoyable the whole experience was good . The guide wasn't great he slept a lot lying on people's seats and on the floor . His was just in the way taking up valuable space . Also he kept going on about his tips walking up and down making everyone feel awkward. We had a problem with up point the hotel didn't let us on their hotel grounds to be collected or dropped off. More pick up points are needed which are outside hotel grounds.

I thought the trip was great, but sick and tired of constant upselling, beach hawkers and people asking for tips. For example our guide said that our photo would be taken before getting on the boat for ID purposes - it wasn’t at all, it was to put the photo on a bottle of local brew for selling to us later. I thought we’d escape this with a TUI tour - but no!

Most of time was travelling to the port, at the island we have only couple of hours to enjoy which is not enough as everything was in the hurry. When we switch boats captain stealen my wife's expensive crocks when we asked tour guy Victoriano "Obama" he never try to claim them back so she walk on bear foot into the bus through the town. There was a big push for tips everywhere you move even when you give one they want more. I would not recommend this experience distasteful behaviour.

Honestly an amazing trip from start to finish just book it! Obama our tour guide is an absolute credit to TUI he is so knowledgeable and kind. Amazing boat staff and a truly beautiful island. Make sure to bring cash for little bits you may want to buy on the island - the fees pina colada is unreal! Only complaint is it is a slight wait to get to the coach park and wait for the coach but still worth it!

Unser Guide Oskar war sehr freundlich und konnte alles auf mehreren Sprachen vermitteln. Die Anreise mit dem Boot war sehr spaßig, mit guter Musik und ein paar Getränken. Die Insel selber ist wunderschön, das Essen vor Ort ist sehr einfach und nichts besonderes.

Wyjazd zostal zorganizowany na sile w deszczu. Dojechalismy na wyspe cali mokrzy. Obiad na wyspie nie nadawal sie do zjedzenia poza ryzem. Wszedzie przy obiedzie biegalo stado much. Przydalismy sie 4 razy. Moze bylo niespokojne. Zabrano nas z póltorarocznym dzieckiem i nas nie ostrzegl, ze beda az takie niedogodnosci. Nie wskazano ze przy plazy sa ogromne kamienie, które rania nogi. I ze nalezy zabrac Obuwie do wody. Organizator nastawiony wylacznie na zysk, zupelnie nie pomysla o komforcie

We absolutely loved this trip & I felt compelled to write a review considering how many negative ones there are! The island is absolutely beautiful, the coach trip is around 2 hours from Royalton Punta Cana which is absolutely fine given where the island is in comparison (I can’t believe people complained about that). The guide was funny, spoke several languages and shared lots of Dom Rep facts along the way. Food was amazing, this is one of the best excursions we’ve done! Thank you very much!

Enjoyed the trip ,soana Island is beautiful and worth the visit .have to bare in mind coach journeys which makes it a near 12 day . Plied with plenty of free rum and coke on the boats (no doubt to help tips) but that was fine and enjoyable

The trip is advertised as relaxing, the boat was over crowded, everyone was packed together. The was an obvious issue with the boat. The staff appeared to be covering it up. Whilst Ruben was very good, it was very stop start, I felt rushed in to waiting around. The bar on the beach had two staff for multiple boats, drinks were served in tiny paper cups, so the que for the bar was constant.

Picked up from hotel at 09-05 15 mins to pick boat up didn’t get on boat till 10-30 boat ride 2 hours to a shallow bit of sea fir 20 mins at which the photographers got off boat to pester you for photos which when got to the island then wanted £100 for 30 photos to be download to your phone got to island hung around for 15 mins for dinner big que food ok then got bombarded by locals offering massages for 20 mins nonstop actually only spent 1 hour 20 mins actually relaxing on beach very overcrowc

The island is beautiful, the boat rides would be enjoyable if not for the staff constantly thrusting tip jars in your face and if the guide ever explained anything in English. This was totally disaster we spoke with another family from England and they saying the same every each year is worst and worst not just the excursions but the whole country people are so greedy the guide was Domenican but without History lessons or obviously the lessons what they teaching us in school are totally different from this here. After that they made 20 changes it didn't worth a penny and if you're stupid enough take cash with you if you pay with card they gone rip you off

The trip overall was a different and a valued experience of the Dominican. The guide was a knowledgable asset to the trip, However it became very evident, that we were just targets for money. The guide wanting orders in advance for the Pinapple drink at $10 to ensure we got one The BBQ very poor and not much food. Constantly push by massage women, grabbing you by the arm. Constantly reminded by guide to tip the crew/ both ways. Stopping at a shopping mall encouraged to spend. We felt abused.

We were picked at the hotel at 8.15 in La Romana, arrived to Saona at 12.30, queued for lunch for an hour and had only 1 hour of free time on the island which was crowded with arriving and departing boats. Then 2,5 painful journey back on catamaran with a load music you can’t escape. There were disabled people who had to listen it as there was no other places to escape or to have shade. Chaotic and very bad organisation. Arrived to the hotel at 18.30.Out of 8 hours enjoyed the island for 1 hour

Beautiful island however the trip was spoilt by the multiple pick up points and the stop the the local shop which we weren’t aware of.Tui told us that will spend 3-4 hours on the island when actually it’s was 2 hours and included lunch which was very basic and limited drinks . It felt like one os those tourist scamm were you are told one thing and something else was done . The island is beautiful I just wish we had more time to spend on it like we were told .

Worst excursion I’ve ever been on! Speedboat was a regular boat that was in such poor condition I’m so shocked that TUI is happy to use it. So many other people on similar trips were put on actual speedboats. When we arrived at the island the food was terrible. Again, other people on similar trips had a live barbecue when they arrived. Then, we were put over capacity onto a shuttle boat. We transferred onto a catamaran that didn’t use its sails and played music for the Spanish guests all the way

We have a 1 year and a half old baby. The representative that we booked the trip with told us this trip was a family friendly trip and it would be perfect for us. This trip is not one suited for a young baby. The speed boat ride going was not suited for a young baby, and the loud music coming back on the sail boat was not for a baby either. This trip should not have been recommended to us. Also coming back we had to switch boats twice, again not suited for a young baby.

We were picked up an hour late for our transfer to the port where we would get on the boat. Then when we were 15 minutes out at sea on the boat we the boat broke down and we were left stranded in the middle of the sea for 20 minutes whilst the driver decided whether to carry on or turn back. We ended up turning back and we only to to spend around an hour and a half on the island. Would appreciate a refund or atleast some sort of compensation for the terrible experience

The the location of the trip and service on the boat and island was exelent. However the transfers were long and drawn out the trip was sold as 8 hours but was 12 hours 5 of which were spent on a coach 45 mins spent at the tour companis office waiting for other guests to arrive

Ich habe extra gesagt, dass ich kein Party Schiff möchte und dann war auf dem Hinweg und auf dem Rückweg zu laute Musik. Auf Saona gab es kaputte Liegestühle. Wartezeit auf Essen sehr lang. Essen eine Zumutung. Es gab gewürzte gegrillte Hühnerknochen. Da war kein Fleisch dran. Beilagen. Wenn’s nichts kosten soll, wäre z.B. ein ehrlicher Linseneintopf eine mögliche Lösung. Dann müssten Einheimische nicht zu völlig überteuerten Preisen ihre Kokosnüsse anbieten. Die Leute bekommen zu wenig Geld!!!

Z pol przewod tylo z nazwy powiedziala moze z 4 zdania w tym 2 gdzie znajduje sie toaleta, 1 ze Ci co nie zaplacili to u niej i ze mozna zamowic pinacolade czy homara i ostatnie gdzie sa nasze lezaki i obiad. Bardzo dlugo czekalismy na nia w porcie mimo ze jechalimy znacznie dluzej z powodu wypadku, przez caly czas siedziala na tel, cala opieke przejela zaloga lodzi i katamaranu. Zapomniala powiedziec, ze po drugiej stronie jest znacznie ladniejsza plaza wiec zmarnowalismy czas w glonach.

Wyspa sama w sobie bardzo ladna, naturalne baseny równiez i to w sumie tyle z plusów. Po przybyciu autokarem do portu czekalismy grupa pól godziny na “polskiego przewodnika”, po jego przybyciu kolejne pól godziny czekalismy w pelnym sloncu na lódke. Nikt nawet nie sprawdzil obecnosci uczestników. Nie wiem po co “ Polski przewodnik” jesli nie otrzymalismy zadnego info o wyspie, o basenach, zadnych ciekawostek. Lunch na plastikowych talerzykach na brudnych stolach po poprzedniej grupie.

The excursion was oversubscribed. There were not enough seats on the large bus making it very difficult for people to get seated and parties were split up. The speedboat was the same, not enough space and really crammed in every last available place. Lunch was good and free time on the island was good and drinks were free flowing. Overall a good day but suggest numbers are limited a bit less.

The island was nice. It’s portrayed that it’s a whole day on the island but it really isn’t. We were the last hotel that got picked up and that was at 07:40 we didn’t get on the island until 13:40. That’s 6 hours travelling to the island with a tour guide which was advertised as English, but spoke Spanish all day with the occasional bit of English. Tour guide said to meet at 15:30 at the food area to get picked up and he left on the first boat without telling any of the English where to go.

The activity itself was okey. The food was nice and the drinks were lacking and very low quality. Me and my sister were with the group or the guide called Danilo ‘ the president’ this person left us stranded at the end of the activity, we were supposed to stop to buy some souvenirs before finishing the day and when we came back from the shopping he left with the rest and me and my sister were alone by ourselves not knowing what to do next, who to call, where we are or anything . Horrible day.

We enjoyed the beach there. That first stop at the natural pool however, was a very scary experience as the water was not shallow for us (being on the shorter side). Had to literally tip toe to keep head above water. Guide was not paying much attention to those getting off the boat into the water. We got some assistance though, thanks to other tourists. And got help from the photographer getting back on to boat. Both me and my mom hit our thighs on the stairs trying to get back on

Perfect day full of lovely surprises staff doing sea walk kept us very safe and had lots of patience loved every second just wish they had better food

Die Tour wurde für Personen ab 13 Jahren angeboten, es waren deutlich jüngere dabei. Wir hatten auf Saona Island nur einen Aufenthalt von 1,75 Stunden anstatt versprochen 2,5 Stunden. Auf der Hinfahrt hatten wir sehr lange Wartezeit am Büro für Toilette etc. und die Leute kamen ewig nicht in den Bus zurück weshalb wir ewig warten mussten. Auf der Rückfahrt ebenso, nicht nur 20 Minuten sondern 45 Minuten gewartet. Schlechtes DE vom Guide. Alles in allem nicht den Preis wert, höchstens 50€.

Generalnie lipa jakich malo i pelne rozczarowanie. Rejs katamaranem i lodzia przyjemne z niezapomnianymi widokami. Plaza na Saonie to juz 100% turystyki - brudne lezaki, smieci - nic nie przypomina tych bajecznych obrazków z reklam i zdjec. Bufet na Saonie to dokladnie: ryz, 4 rodzaje owoców i dwa rodzaje miesa - wieprzowina z koscia i kurczak - skóra na kosci. Rum skonczyl sie po godzinie - nie dajcie sobie wmówic ze czegos bedzie pod dostatkiem albo bez limitu.

- Saona Island selber und das Boot / die Boote waren sehr dreckig, die Toiletten defekt - am Strand waren die Massagen absolut aufgezwungen und sogar unsere Tochter (3!) wurde bequatscht - Getränkeversorgung ließ zu wünschen übrig: dreckig, ungepflegt und man hatte Angst, sich was einzufangen - Rückfahrt war mit dem Extra Halt bei der Bio Schokolade der Gipfel der Unverschämtheit und führt dazu, dass wir nie wieder einen Ausflug mit TUI machen werden - Positiv zu nennen: unser Guide Castro!

12 Std on tour, nur 2 Std auf der Saona.3 x boot wechseln. Getränke, Wasser Cola Rum, Mittagessen ungenießbar. Bootsrückfahrt = wildwasserbahn, alle waren nass weil man sich vor verlassen der Insel normale Kleidung angezogen hat. Nass in den klimatisierten Bus steigen. Keine info bitte badesachen anbehaten für die bootsrückfahrt. 1 std an Souvenirladen. Es wurde mehr versucht Dinge zu verkaufen als sich um ein schönes Ausflugserlebnus zu kümmern. Von TUI erwartet man ein besseres Produkt.

Coach was late arriving to pick us up once on board commentary was almost non existent it would have been nice to learn about local culture and local day to day life. The boat trip was nice both ways. Once on the island we felt very harassed by various sellers and I was made to feel obligated to purchase a massage the amount of sellers on the beach really impacted on the ability to just relax The lunch buffet was awful local guide was obviously getting commission

Habe diesen Ausflug bestimmt schon 20 mal in 29 Jahren die ich Punta Cana bereise erlebt, jedoch Ihrer war preislich der höchste leider aber auch der schlechteste. Der Reiseleiter hat ausschließlich spanisch und englisch gesprochen, obwohl ich in deutsch gebucht habe. Leider ist die Tour mit dem Schnellboot quer übers Meer gefahren worden und nicht wie mir von anderen Veranstaltern bekannt an der Küste entlang wo man das Meer in allen türkistönen erlebt. Das ist sehr schade, werde in Zukunft

Pick up from hotel was confusing, there were many excursion pickups at our hotel from various companies and our excursion pickup gave no indication it was ours as there was no tui logo on bus or on driver who spoke very little english so was difficult to figure out which was ours.

The day was spent mostly travelling to and from the excursion. This is not made clear. The waiting around for the various transport in heavily crowded areas felt unsafe at points especially as you are usually harassed by people trying to sell you things that are either endorsed by the TUI guide or they do nothing to stop it

The journey to the island was great. The crew was outstanding. The island on the other hand was terrible. The eating facility was dirty and nasty. The food was cold and not presented very sanitarily. The chicken meat was dry and the pork chops were tough. The restrooms were completely unacceptable. They were nasty, smelled gross, and lacked basic cleanliness. The small lacked hand soap and hand towels to clean up before lunch.
