Total relaxation awaits on this full day cruise to Saona Island's dazzling shores. You'll explore this tropical daydream Caribbean Isle, soaking up the sun and the vibrant colours while you stroll along palm-shaded beaches. First up is a coastal tour of Cotubanama National Park, then you'll stop at a natural pool for a dip before heading to the beach for lunch and free time. Ramon, one of our expert guides, says, ‘Our priority is to protect our pristine environment and all the species that make Saona so special. We were the first country to protect manatees by law, and we have a turtle conservation programme here on the island, too.'After a relaxing cruise over to Saona, the sightseeing can begin in earnest. You'll cruise the shoreline of the Cotubanama National Park while your local guide points out the island wildlife. See the rocks of El Peñón, and then glide through the Catuano channel. Next, it's time to cool off in the azure water of the natural pools, formed by sandbanks in the open sea. The water is such a tempting shade of blue you won't be able to resist.Docking at one of Saona Island's fabulous beaches, you'll step off the boat for some beach time. There's the Caribbean for paddling, soft white sand to dip your toes in, and a volleyball pitch to play on. Or you could take the simplest option and just stretch out in the sun. After your tasty buffet lunch is served, there's more free time to enjoy the magical setting.

The transfer bus was lovely, the boat to island was very clean , the island itself was stunning / views / sea and the stop off for swim with huge starfish was just great. Our rep Ruben was brilliant also.

The tour itself was lovely - loved the Catamaran - great music played. Guide was very knowledgeable but didn't speak to anyone on the boat/island at all and it all felt a bit formulaic. He had to deal with an extremely intoxicated and obnoxious guest on the way home, who put us all in danger on the bus. He'd started drinking straight rum at 10am and didn't stop. It was obvious by noon that he was drunk and likely to be trouble and action should have been taken then . Food ran out at lunch too :(

Boat ride and catamaran were great guide staff and boat captains were great . Beach staff on the island were rude and moody and food was poor and too crowded . The amount of boats there was congested and not safe to swim in the sea. Toilets were very poor quality and cleanness. Would not recommend

Muy mala comida, ni en el barco ni en la isla tenían refresco sin azúcar y algunas personas no podemos consumir azúcar, el alimento muy limitado en variedad y en cantidad, sin opciones de snacks, muy impuntuales en el regreso barcos muy pequeños no cabíamos, el espacio en el camión es muy reducido para personas altas, bueno la estadía en la playita

The day was unnecessarily long as the transfer went to so many hotels. A twelve hour day is too much with a needless stop at a souvenir shop just 20 minutes from the hotel spzone. Also there are too many attempts to upsell on the trip. $100 for photos from a very pushy photographer and $20 for a bottle of mamajuana on the coach.

Really should make it clear to the larger Americans that if they need 2 seats on the boat they should pay for 2 seats instead of thinking they would be entitled to another person's seat! This kind of selfish behavior compromises safety for everyone and makes the trip uncomfortable and less enjoyable as a result.

At Soana island they immediately wrapped the lunch (15 minutes) , and were handing only one chicken piece. Boat took hours to reach the island and during bus guide was more interested in promoting souvenirs.

Loved the tour guide BJ he has a lot of patience and instructed us well about which bus and which boat he was very knowledgeable. As for Saona although the island was lovely and picture perfect I do believe the island has been spoilt by so many boats, snorkelling is pointless, as no colourful fish you would expect on a tropical island. The speed boat back was amazing and the last stop at the store made it a long but very good day which my family all enjoyed.

An absolute must, perfectly organised, tour guide Reuben was amazing, he worked so well to keep us all informed of the day. Island is stunning, people are so friendly too. If I was to change anything, perhaps having fries/chips on the menu for lunch, not everyone enjoys rice and pasta, other than that the trip was perfect.

Echt een superleuke excursie, blij dat we ons hebben laten 'overhalen' we dachten dat het erg massaal en overvol zou zijn, maar viel echt 100% mee. Catamaran was heerlijk, genoeg ruimte heel relaxt. Saona zelf is misschien een iéts te commercieel gebeuren, maar doet niet heel veel af van de ervaring. Ja er waren veel boten, maar goed aangepast aan de ruimte die er is. Ook het natuurzwembad was top. Druk, maar absoluut geen hinder van anderen. Zeker een aanrader!

The trip consisted of mostly waiting on coaches in car parks (2 hours in total) then when we got to the port had to stand in scorching heat for 40 minutes with no shade then got put on a boat to our speed boat. No speed boats free so floated around in the ocean and got put on an overcrowded catamaran where we had to sit on the floor or stand as was already full. At Saona we were sold 3 hours on the island, again had to wait 20 mins for a boat to take us in, ended up having 1 hr 45 absolute joke

Bij het boeken gevraagd hoe lang de transfer naar de boot was met de bus. Hierbij werd aangegeven dat dit Max een uur zou zijn. Uiteindelijk zowel heen als terug 3 uur in de bus gezeten. Veel insecten op Saona zelf. Verder prima excursie

Partir à 7h50 et rentrer à 19h00 pour en résumé profiter 30 minutes de la “ piscine naturel" et ensuite 1h30 sur l’île de Saona! Nous avons mis pied sur l’île à 13h50 et à 15h20 nous embarquions pour la quitter! Tout en pensant que dans cette fameuse 01h30 nous avons dû manger le buffet au milieu des mouches ( une trentaine de mouches rien que sur notre table) le tout dans une odeur de crottin de cheval ! J’ai fait cette excursion avec Tui en 2008, en 2017 et cette année.

El destino es muy bueno, sin embargo lo ofrecido por el plan como: bar abierto, almuerzo tipo buffet, animación y recreación) no cumplieron con las expectativas. El bar abierto tanto en el catamaran como en la playa solo ofrecía ron con coca cola y de muy baja calidad, el almuerzo muy limitado y mal atendido, el sitio "premium" no corresponde a esa categoría y no lo deberías ofrecer así, el precio de las fotos excesivo y el tiempo en la isla muy poco por todos los temas logísticos. Muy regular.

Une excursion inattendue… Contrairement à toutes celle que j’ai vécu chez Tui… Le voyage en autocar avec 50 personnes de 12 nationalités ce n’était vraiment pas bien, un guide qui traduit en 3 langues a chaque fois, un vrai piège à touristes. De surcroît le guide malhonnête sur la monnaie qu’il me rend pour l’achat d’une pina colada a Saona. Une vraie déception, j’espère ne jamais revivre ce genre d’excursion, ce n’est vraiment pas plaisant!

The whole trip was 13 hours not 8 hours. It took too long to get to the Island and when there, it was for 2 hours. The Island was beautiful, the sea was exceptional, food was good and boat ride to and from the Island was fun. Definitely worth a visit but 7 hours to get there was far too very long.

Out of a 13 hour day, we only had 2 hours on Saona Island! Half the day was spent on a coach, at one point waiting for an hour for another coach to turn up and take people off our coach to take them elsewhere. The food was very basic but more importantly the toilets were absolutely disgusting! Also, bring your toilet paper or you have to but/tip for it there. Castro the guide was the only highlight of the day. The island is sadly is over subscribed for tourism.

La plage est belle mais forcément énormément touristique Nous avons mis plus de 4h pr y arriver et la même chose pr le retour. Moins long si vous êtes du côté de bahibay Le catamaran n en n est pas un, le buffet était dégueulasse. Retour à l hotel à 20h Vu aucune étoile de mer ds la piscine naturelle, vous les voyez depuis le bateau au départ alors qu avec une autre compagnie, il vous montre où elles se trouvent. Regardez bien le départ pr le retour, personne ne vient vous chercher

The long bus ride that you were never told would take so long, the 2 hour trip on water while others pass you by. Offer more than Rum. I know that is the favor drink here but everyone does not like it. Food service can be better, lady only give small piece of meat.

Pro: Schöne Insel, Bootsfahrten, Mittagessen auf der Insel mit anschließender Freitzeit Contra: sehr nerviger Tourguide, lange Hin- und Rückfahrt zu vielen Hotels, Pause mit Stop bei einem Shop und Aufforderung zum Kauf (Kaffeefahrt), Tour in englisch gebucht, aber überwiegend nur spanisch gesprochen, Musik auf dem Boot so laut, dass man sich nicht unterhalten kann. Kann man machen, man braucht aber viel Geduld.

Overall we did have a good day but there is far too much messing about with transport getting picked up then having to transfer not direct. Although the food basic it was very nice. The open bar as promised was terrible very basic just beer or cola, pouring beer into paper cups which held very little this was the worse thing on the tour even cans of beer would have been a good idea and then the queuing would have been less which was horrendous. The open bar on the boat was just rum and coke

The trip was far too long to get to to only be on the island for 2 hours, chicken and meat was tough to eat and we were so hungry by the time we got there we felt sick as had no time for breakfast before hand, Saona island was beautiful though and glad we went but we never knew it would be most of our day travelling and we were exhausted by the end of it, but if we had known how long the travel was we wouldn’t have went and there were a few others on the trip along with us say the same

Guide spoke mainly Spainish the whole trip , most of the instructions were in Spanish took 2hours to get to the dock not the 40 minutes as suggested then had just over hour on the island ,there was only rice to eat as all the food had gone .the driver of the speedboat walked up and down with his hat out fir a tip if you didn’t tip him he didn’t help you get of the boat

We originally booked the Saona supreme experience with the private beach but when we were getting picked up the tour guide was very rude and dismissive and didn’t want to communicate with us. We think he might have crossed the wrong name off and was waiting for “Jacqueline” and simply said no to us. We ended up doing the normal tour with public beach which was nice but the beach was very busy with so many boats coming and going where people were in the water that it wasn’t enjoyable

Le trajet en catamaran était magnifique mais l’arrivée sur l’île décevante. Le guide était trop axé sur l’alcool, et les promesses d’activités culturelles n’ont pas été tenues. L’île, censée être paradisiaque, était bondée avec des chaises en plastique sur une plage pas propre,une nourriture médiocre. la sécurité laissait à désirer, surtout quand on devait changer de bateau avec des enfants. le chemin du retour, on a pu découvrir une petite plage vraiment paradisiaque ce qui a sauvé la journée

The tour guide basically vanished on the island-no info.No snacks during the travel to and from island. We were packed like sardines on the catamaran and the speed boat. There were hundreds of people on the Saona Island , hard to take photos, seaweed and trash on the beach. Nothing like advertised! We got soaked wet on the speed boat ride back from the island, then thrown in the cold bus. We were miserable. Then, the tour guide decided to take a 45 min stop at an overpriced shopping center..

Wir haben auf der Insel 45.00 Minuten auf das Boot gewartet ohne Informationen des Reiseführer Er sass bei den Anderen und hatte keine Zeit um genau Angaben zu gehen schade. Kids really looking forward to speedboat journey which didn’t happen as one engine not working any journey took 2 hours. Boat staff drinking alcohol at the bar witnessed . Limited drinks at bar as in one type of alcohol and soft drink. No seating space on boats all packed in with no room. Really enjoyed sand banks and beach on Denis island. Toilet facilities disgusting. Food ok but put of with flies. Staff very pushy to sell pictures you don’t want in that waking you up from sunbathing to buy

It was the worst experience ever we spend 13 hour on our experience 7:00 till 20:00 peck up from our hotel Riu Republica at 7:00 by the driver Julio who was very professional and helpful by coach with 50 persons family with kids who were two infants arrived time at the boat transfer at 10 we spend on the boat 2 hours at the natural lake 30 minutes we had lunch at 14:30 the food was poor drink just small and we spend only 1:30 minutes on Saona Island whit beach full of vendors and dirty toilets

We were informed transfer to the port would be 1 hour 15 mins and the same on the way home. Transfer was almost 3 hours both ways. Too long and not as sold to us. The actual excursion, island, boat trip all great. Do not stop at service station on way home. Too late. People are tired. Blatant money making extortion scheme. Ridiculously over-priced items.

Heel fijne uitstap. Leuke sfeervolle tocht op de catamaran, fijne tussenstop in de “natural pool”, lekkere lunch en meer dan voldoende vrije tijd op een toplocatie, en een snelle boottrip terug. Het overstappen telkens van boot naar boot was iets minder, maar dat gaat waarschijnlijk moeilijk anders. We hadden er zelf geen last van, maar voor de oudere mensen in de groep was dit toch niet simpel. Vanuit Punta Cana was het wel 2 uur op de bus op en 2 uur terug, maar dat hoort erbij :-)

The trip was a long day but it was planned very well. We left at 7:50 and got back to the hotel for 7:30pm. However, the waters at Saona island are worth it compared to the beach at the hotel. Our tour guide Obama was great

I enjoyed the guide that the representative provided and the beach where we were taken. Two things I didn’t like; 1- We wasted too much time on the departure process to board the catamaran, and 2- Food and drinks aren’t the best

I thought the trip was brilliant, rueben was fantastic, he’s a knowledgable guy who knows about the area and is very familiar with the area. Genuinely thought the trip was superb and the coach driver was very friendly and helpful as well. It’s a trip I’d recommend anyone coming to the DR to do.

So we were offered no drinks a few cokes and rum on boat. But they give u like 3 and then in island food was disgusting nothing to eat not much left over with no drinks servers . We were offered no drinks on the island and then nothing all day ! Was appalling for value for money and to be advised would be free bar and nothing available to drink disgusting

De catamaran reis was leuk maar het eiland tja geen bounty eiland . Daar is het echt veel te druk voor. Alles is erg gericht op dingen verkopen , vanaf dat je in de bus gaat zitten tot de laatste stop. Ik snap dat ze er graag aan verdienen, dit ging wel erg ver Het was jammer we hadden beter naar onze reisbegeleidster moeten luisteren.

From start to finish it was awful. Bus was 30 minutes late when you get off the bus to get on boats it’s absolute chaos. People pulling you on the streets to try and buy stuff and the toilets at the port was disgusting! A lady was sat by the toilets with a small piece of toilet roll that you had to tip her to get some! The boat ride is long to get to the island and once we got there and had the buffet food it was disgusting! Swarms of flies all over food and dining tables. Didn’t see any starfis

La plage est superbe, le speed boat et le catamaran étaient super, la nourriture n'était pas assez variée, le guide ne parlait pas français comme nous l'avions demandé. Mais ce fut quand même une excursion inoubliable.

Unglaubliche Landschaft, aber dafür insgesamt 12 Stunden sind deutlich zu lange. Ablauf: 1,5h vom hotel zu einem Rastplatz, 30min warten, umstieg in anderen Reisebus (sehr kalt), nochmal 1h fahrt, 30min am Hafen warten, 1,5h mit katamaran zum baden (sehr überfüllt), 30min mit Katamaran zur Insel, 2h auf der Insel (komplett überfüllt, essen naja), 1h mit speedboot zurück, 1h mit Bus, 30min an einem souvenirshop, umstieg in anderen bus zum hotel. Also insgesamt sehr mühsam aber schöne Bilder

Het was leuk, alleen we gingen met een harde speedboot terug en we moesten heel erg lang in de bus zitten (5 uur) omdat we langs allerlei resorts moesten. En we kregen 40 minuten de tijd om te shoppen. En dit duurt gewoon extra lang na zo’n lange dag.

Verpflegung allgemein war lächerlich. Katamaran war alt und klein. Der Fahrt dauert zu lange und Insel war überfüllt. WC und Essen,Gertränke sowie der Strand waren katastrophal. Ich war das letzte Mal von 12 Jahren dort inzwischen wird damit nur noch versucht möglichst kostengünstig Geld zu verdienen.

The whole experience of Saona Island was amazing one of the best trip in DR and it’s definitely something you should not missed out on. The trip it’s long but that was okay only two things I did not like was the buffet lunch could be prepared better and second outside toilet they have sink to wash your hands but the water running yellow and literally stink as it’s coming from sewer right next to the toilet. I did not drink drop of water on the island just in case

The tour is brilliant value for money and the Island is absolutely beautiful! Great for swimming. The number of people going is a bit challenging for the infrastructure at times but the staff and guides have got it down to a fine art. Lunch was good and Rueben was fantastic as ever - total legend!

Wir waren von 7:00 Ihr bis 19:30 Uhr unterwegs, um 2 Stunden auf der Insel zu sein. Die Insel selbst ist traumhaft und wer ein paar Fotos für sein Profil braucht ist hier richtig. Aber es war eine lange Busfahrt mit anschließender langer Bootsfahrt, die nicht wirklich als Erlebnis bezeichnet werden kann. Auf der Rückfahrt muss man durchs Wasser, um ins Boot zu kommen, so dass man mit feuchter Kleidung in den klimatisierten Bus steigt.

Me gustó mucho la seguridad , el transporte y la puntualidad ! No me gustó que el guía habla mucho , propone productos para vender en el transporte y llego a mentir con botellas regaladas de Mamahuana y al final había que pagarlas con 20 dólares , Creo que escogemos un tur para disfrutar una excursión no para que se aprovechen de la oportunidad y nos estén proponiendo productos ! En todo el viaje del bus ( 3 h ) el guía solo hablaba eso fue aburrido !

Coach stops changing buses both ways constantly waiting, pestered constantly to buy stuff boat trip was good island is gonna be ruined if they carry on like they are! Could have taken 5 hours not 13 but Oscar or guide was great!! All in all pretty poor!

No water on 3 hour bus trip. Music on catamaran way too loud , should have at least an hour quiet to admire the scenery & relax. Blue Lagoon was very shallow people stood around tried swimming to the island but it was fly infested. Water visibility zero. Island felt like a conveyor belt ,food poor & tiny cardboard cups for water/beer/ rum - the only drinks available. Oscar the guide was very good & informative. Got soaked on speedboat return & was cold. 20 min busdelay as woman promoted her rum
