With long stretches of unspoilt beach and a rich cultural heritage – Sal has all the ingredients for a perfect day trip. This tour packs in the best sights, including Buracona lagoon and Pedra de Lume salt flats. To top it off, there's a traditional Cape Verdean lunch, and you'll get a glimpse of laidback, local life in Espargos and Palmeira. Rodrigo, one of our local guides, says, ‘Pedra de Lume is in the middle of a volcanic crater, and you reach it via a tunnel. You can sometimes pick up compressed salt crystals the size of a golf ball, while at other times the salt is so hard that you walk on the pans.'The fun kicks off with a visit to Espargos. You'll explore the island's colourful capital and admire its fascinating street art, before heading to an observatory point for elevated views over the town. Next, it's on to the Buracona lagoon, famed for an optical illusion known as the ‘blue eye' caused by the sunlight. The journey continues at the laidback fishing village of Palmeira. Relax in a café while your guide reveals stories about the village's past.You're in for a treat next, as there's a table waiting for us at a family-run restaurant which serves a special Cape Verdean lobster dish. There are other tasty options, too. After fuelling up on local cuisine, we'll head to the Dead Sea-like waters of Pedra de Lume. Lie back and float on one of the world's saltiest lagoons, before stopping by at Viveiros Botanical Garden to discover exotic vegetation and a petting zoo. Your driver and the guide were fantastic. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, authentic and helpful 10/10. The tasting in the gift shop was poor and the shop keeper wasn't friendly. The lunch was of good quality but felt rushed.

We really enjoyed our tour, HOWEVER…. We were not told that on the day of pick there would be 3 or 4 other tour buses turning up. We were not the only couple that got confused on which bus we were meant to get in even though there was a Tui rep outside the hotel she didn’t once tell us what to do. It was only after the 3rd bus came in and this bus had a tui rep holding a German flag. It now clicked that we were getting on a particular bus for English. This could have been mentioned prior.

Es war ein absolut toller Ausflug. Ein Riesenlob an unseren tourgide!!!! Ronny ist der absolute Guide !! Ich hab bis jetzt auf keiner Reise ein Gide erlebt, der mit so viel Freude, Hintergrundwissen, abwechslungsreicher Informationen, eine Tour so bereichert hat. Er sollte viel mehr eingesetzt werden! Solche Menschen benötigt man für eine absolut professionelle Tour.

Our guide Ramiro was first class . Kept us well imformed throughout the day with his enthusiasm and knowledge . The only downside was the Lobster lunch . The texture of the lobster I had was more like mashed potato . Certainly not worth the extra £20 . Was not planning to do the full day tour originally , but changed my mind after the presentation given by Chris , the TUI rep , at the welcome meeting . Glad I changed my mind as it was a great day out .

Our guide was a local man (I think his name was Claude) He was really friendly and funny and made the day fun. It was a nice day which included a lunch at a beach restaurant and some nice drinks but I think it was a bit expensive for what it was at £100 each

Our tour guide Tony was excellent, gave a few laughs and told us the history of the island. His manner and demeanour was excellent, pointed out things that were probably external to the tour i.e how long building work takes on the island, the average number of children per family, the number of children gathered by the one man on the island, we even met his 27th son outside a small church. History of fishing and how old methods are passed down through generations. Fantastic day and experience

Full extended tour giving an excellent overall view of SAL. This was made so much more enjoyable because of Eddie tour guide and Silver our driver. Superb customers service nothing was too much for them, they made us feel at home. We would strongly recommend this tour, we were very surprised to see the developments taking place and it's nothing like we saw landed at airport to our hotel.

Antonio the guide was amazing and feel sorry that this is the review. It's not a reflection on him. Attractions were ok, nothing mind blowing. Advertised as Lobster lunch, which it isn't. It's a fried fish lunch which is disgusting, cold mackerel not boned either or an upgrade for €20 each for lobster. Overall for €100 each was not good value and if I was honest I'd advised against it and ask for a refund

Die Tagestour war ganz toll organisiert. Unser Guide "Mamadou/Papadou/Kakadou hat uns umfassende Eindrücke über die Kapverden, die Insel Sal, die Kultur und über die Menschen vermittelt. Es wurde niemals langweilig. Das Highlight für uns war das Schwimmen im Salzsee.

Guide Stephan was great. Although walking round a new place in a different country is good, there wasn't an awful lot to see. There was alot more walking than I expected which isn't great when you have a dodgy back. On a personal level, I really didn't enjoy the salt pool part of the trip. On a more positive note, the meal we had and the trip to the botanical garden was enjoyable.

Our guide for the day Antonio aka Tony was brilliant. He was very personable, had a good sense of humour and made all feel at ease. Tony gave us lots of information about the history of Cape Verde and its people, he was very passionate about his country and loved being a tour guide. All the places visited were very interesting especially Salinas and Botanical Gardens. We enjoyed the gardens so much we went back. Lunch at a local restaurant and drinks stops were very good. Eating b4 the salt lakes was a bit uncomfortable. Would of been better to have food after. Water shoes should be advised for the lakes. But overall a very enjoyable day the guide was very informative and entertaining. Excellent driver.

The port was interested, saw the fishermen sell their catch. Didn't get the best sight of the blue eye but saw a little bit. Lunch good and plenty, 3 courses. All very good. The mirage was amazing. Loved floating in the lake at the salt pans. Finally a short stop at the botanic garden. All in all a wonderful day out . A must do.

Representative was outstanding in looking after our physical needs. Knowlwdge of area was great. Time keeping spot on. Food and experience venues first class. A fabulous outing.

The trip was great. We saw so much. The guide Eddie was brilliant he knew so much answered all our questions and was so pleasant. The meal and all the drinks were spot on. Don't think I can fault anything

viel zu viel programm beim blauen auge gab es süsse verkaufsstände aber leider hatten wir keine zeit diese anzuschauen. beim salzsee hatten wir 20 minuten zeit runter zu laufen umzuziehen zu baden zu duschen und wieder hoch zu laufen. die gruppe wurde auch nicht vor ort gesammelt. plötzlich war niemand der gruppe mehr da. da wusste man, dass der bus wohl wieder weiter fährt. für languste wurde zusätzlich 20 euro verlangt also 135 euro für den ausflug. sehr teuer!
