Wat te verwachten
Omring jezelf met de schoonheid van de Ionische natuur tijdens deze boottocht van een halve dag, speciaal voor kinderen. Je vaart langs Marathonisi en gaat voor anker om te zwemmen. Om dan te weten te komen wat er wordt gedaan voor het behoud van het milieu. Kay, een van de lokale gidsen zegt: "We willen graag iedereen deze prachtige plek laten zien. Misschien spot je zelfs een schildpad en begrijp je waarom en hoe we ons milieu beschermen. Het is een leuke tour die duurzaamheid zichtbaar maakt". Je vertrekt van Agios Sostis en vaart langs het eiland Marathonisi – een met dennenbomen bedekt eiland dat de bijnaam 'Schildpaddeneiland' heeft gekregen omdat de stranden een favoriete broedplaats voor onechte karetschildpadden zijn. De kids vinden dit ook geweldig – tijdens speciale activiteiten komen ze meer te weten over het behoud van de schildpadden. Ze leren ook het milieu van het eiland te respecteren door het te beschermen tegen afval.Eerst neem je een duik bij de ‘Oasis' grot. En daarna gaan we wat dichter bij het eiland voor anker om te snorkelen. Hou onderweg het water in de gaten, want misschien zie je wel schildpadden of dolfijnen rondzwemmen. Bovendien heeft de boot een geïntegreerd afvoersysteem voor afvalwater, zodat de zee niet vervuild wordt.

Mir hat nicht gefallen, dass alle Boote zu nah an die Schildkröte fuhren. Dann stellt man sich die Frage, ob die Schildkröten im Hafen angelockt werden. Denn eigentlich ist die Saison vorbei und die Tiere eigentlich nicht mehr vor Ort. Wir haben jetzt Mitte Oktober

Everything was brilliant from the coach pick up to the boat ride. We saw two turtles from afar and spent time watching them until other boats came and crowded them so we left (this trip was all about ethical spotting which was great!) conservation talk was great and informative. We only did one swim stop as opposed to the two advertised but this was ok. We didn’t look for any turtles going back just straight back to the port. Guy on the harbour feeding a turtle meant we could get some photos too

Tijdens onze boottrip stond er veel wind, waardoor de golfslag stevig was. Hierdoor waren de schildpadden moeilijk waar te nemen. Gelukkig toch 1 schildpad gezien. Zwemmen op beide afgesproken plekken lukte ook niet, door wind en golfslag. Wel bij Schilpadeiland, in de luwte van het eiland, was het zwemmen goed te doen.

Really enjoyed the trip, shame we only saw 1 turtle, but was worried for the turtle when so many big boats were trying to view it and possible injury to the turtle. Liked the conservation talk on the boat from the volunteers who try to safe guard the turtles, being on the bottom deck was unable to hear the tour guids commentary who was on the top deck due the engine noise. Over all it was a good experience

We wouden eerst gaan voor de tour met een stop bij Keri. Helaas was deze niet meer beschikbaar en zijn we voor datgene gegaan wat voor ons het meeste erop leek. Echter de schildpadden die we zagen waren al voordat we de boot opgingen. Daarna hebben we in het water een schaduw gezien wat omringd was door 5 boten. Verder was het alleen varen en een stop van een uur om te zwemmen. Tussendoor kregen we nog informatie van WWF waarbij verteld werd hoe stressvol het is als schildpadden omringd worden.

Vi så kun 1 skilpadde på turen, og det var en som nærmest var "tam" som en lokal drev og fôret inne ved bryggene. Det føltes ikke helt som den rette måten å få sett skilpadder på, å ligge mange båter tett i tett og ruse med motorer så det stinket bensin, for å snu båtene. Kanskje bedre for både turister & skilpadder å finne en "annen måte" å få sett dem på. Iom. det bare ble 1 badestopp pga. vind hadde det vært stas om det stoppet hadde vært litt lenger.

Well organised. Would have liked to spend a little more time at the harbour to venture onto small island bridge walk. Even though we saw turtles we were concerned how the number of boats circled them to view them with little concern fir the turtles safety.

Should have been picked up at 8am but got an email whilst having breakfast that it had been put back to 11.15 due to operational issues. Rubbish.!! This was because you hadn’t filled both the am & pm sailings, and it was more cost effective to combine both together. Going back to the 11.15 pickup, the bus didn’t arrive until 11.35. There was no “in case of emergency” briefings, so didn’t know where the lifebelts were. The guides commentary and instructions could not be heard clearly.

I was the first to be picked up and spent 2 hours on the coach to get to the dock. We spent 25 minutes at one hotel. The driver could not speak English, and there was no guide on the coach. When we got to the dock we waited at least 15 minutes for the guide to turn up. We didn't know what was happening. It was extremely stressful, and definitely not an experience I want to repeat.

Den första chauffören kom aldrig. Visserligen fick vi en ny tid lite senare på dagen så det var bra. Guiden på båten pratade dock lite lågt så hon hördes inte så bra. Däremot var båtturen jättehärlig så det gjorde inte så mycket.

8 Kinderwagen auf dem Schiff. Alle Kreuz und quer, so das kein Platz war um sich zu bewegen. Die Insel wurde in großem Bogen umfahren. Den Strand an dem die Schildkröten ihre Eier ablegen, konnte man nur durch einen Feldstecher sehen. Die bessere Bezeichnung für diesen Ausflug wäre " Badeausflug in der Umgebung der Schildkröteninsel "

Wonderful experience and our party thoroughly enjoyed! One small observation, the boat fuel fumes on our particular boat were very strong. Fine for us but anyone with a respiratory condition may find this a real problem. On the whole highly recommend, saw the turtles, swam in the amazing turquoise waters and loved the beauty of the island from the sea!

No one checked we were on the right boat. The only turtles we saw were at the port before boarding. The commentary was given by a woman, we couldn’t understand a word of it. The canned drinks and snacks were way overpriced. The trip was not value for money and was over sold to us. Very unsatisfactory.

We felt like the trip was missold, I understood we would be able to swim from the boat to turtle island to try and see the baby turtles but we just stopped at a cave which I was told later was turtle island. I was also told we would arrive home for around 5 but we were actually done by 3. I personally think they didn't go to turtle island which was the purpose of the trip

Väldigt oorganiserat i hamnen. Vi fick sitta 20 minuter på bussen för att vänta på guiden. Att ”simma med sköldpaddor” var lite falsk marknadsföring. Fanns inte en möjlighet att det skulle komma några sköldpaddor eftersom det var så mycket folk och båtar. Vi så en sköldpadda i hamnen, från båten, innan vi åkte iväg. Samt en som en man matade från sin båt, också i hamnen. Troligtvis står han där varje dag om man läser tidigare recensioner. Vi var nöjda med ”bad-och snorkelstoppen”.

Whilst it was billed as a ‘turtle cruise’ apart from first few mins….it was all about swim stops…..for €70 I felt it was overpriced…..the’ turtle cruise’feels like a bit of a hook to get you on the trip….esp when your told on the boat the ‘turtles are obv happy as coming up for air(around the many boats….) but on the turtle talk….this is a sign of them being stressed….also, the harbour at laganas is chaos!!

We booked a transfer to the boat, but there was no rep to show us off the coach to the correct vessel so several families waited in the wrong queue for a while. Similar when coming off the boat, had to walk around the many coaches looking for the right one. Trip itself was amazing for sights and swimming but only one turtle with a lot of boats crowded around it - would be better marketed as a swimming trip rather than a turtle-spotting trip!

Vi ville have foretrukket, hvis I brugte dansk guide. Vi taler rimeligt godt engelsk, men ind imellem var der ting, vi ikke fik fat i. Desværre så vi kun skyggen af en skildpadde, fordi den straks var omringet aflange små både. Men sådan er det jo med natur. Ellers dejlig/flot sejltur

We have young children and believed that the swim stops would be at a beach, and not off the side of a boat, so this pretty much became redundant. The stops and scenery were beautiful though. We didn’t see any turtles except one in the harbour which isn’t part of the trip. :)

All we could smell was the toilet and diesel fumes on the boat. The crew were constantly smoking. We saw one turtle in the bay which was surrounded by 15 other boats all within about 3 m of the poor animal. Totally against the rules. The boats were trying to smoke the turtle out to come up for air some people Could see. It was very distressing

Ab 13 Jahren schon Erwachsenenpreis finden wir übertrieben, gut wäre ev. ein Jugendpreis oder den Kinderpreis länger zb bis 16 J. Ev.könnte man länger nach Schildkröten schauen. Die Schwimmstops sind wirklich toll und sehr beeindruckend.

Loved this experience! The coach transfer picked us up on time and the driver was waiting for us on return. The two swim stops were gorgeous and the swim noodles on board were a great extra. The staff from the turtle rescue centre were very knowledgable and friendly.

The coach journey back was a little scary, the coach driver did not seem to like anyone else on the road, nearly hitting pedestrians several times. The overall experience was good. When we had swim stops we were precariously close to the over hanging limestone that you could see had had a recent fall. Stopping to see the turtles felt like they were being hounded rather than protecting them.

Overall ok with one exception which makes no sense. There were 5 or 6 boats raving the engines in a circle around the turtles to force them to the surface. Then later in the cruise we get a 20 mins presentation about turtles and how people stress them. What the actual **********?!

turen levede desværre ikke helt op til forventningerne. Vi så kun en enkelt lille skildpadde, og den kom aldrig op til overfladen efter luft, så det var ikke den store skildpaddeoplevelse. De to badestop havde heller ikke noget med skildpadder at gøre, men var blot almindelige svømmestop. Derudover var både bussen og båden meget overfyldte, hvilket gjorde oplevelsen mindre behagelig.

The turtles themselves were spotted we did only see 2 which is fine. We saw 1 close up at the port on the way back which was actually better. You get 2 swim stops for around 30 mins which was the best part for me. Swimming in the gorgeous blue ocean and snorkelling to seeing the fish. The port is a little chaotic but the TUI guides are there to tell you what bus to get on so it’s ok. Overall was a really lovely experience

We only saw turtles in the harbour so I’d rather have stayed there and see them there. The boat was over crowded and generally not value for money. The sea swimming was good but that wasn’t the primary reason for booking the trip. I wouldn’t recommend.

Our instructions got the bus transfer were clear however on arrival to the marina we felt as though we were just dumped with no instruction on where to go. It’s a very busy marina with many excursions all looking the same and we had no idea which way to go to find our boat. We found a TUI rep who vaguely pointed us in the right direction to at least know what jetti we were on until we finally found a helpful and apologetic TUI rep at the boat. The trip itself was great after a stressful start.

Informationen vid bokning var alldeles för otydlig. Hade behövts förtydligas. När vi sen fått bekräftelse var den också för otydlig med transfern till båten. Därav missade vi den då vi tolkade upphämtning på hotellet men det var på en annan plats. Fick inga pengar tillbaka och hittade ingen guide att kontakta när vi stod och väntade så vi hade kunnat få möjlighet att hitta rätt upphämtningsplats. 110 Euro för ingen upplevelse.

there’s was lightning and thunder in the way down asked if it was still safe got told multiple times got near turtle island weather got even worst with hail and more lightning 2 lift rafts ripped off the boat by the winds glass in doors smashing crack glass in front windows and the boat nearly tipping from strong winds

Obviously its not guaranteed that you see a turtle, but just to see a head pop up for 2 seconds isn't really that good. It was more like a boat trip with sea swimming included.

'+Båtturen var mycket trevlig och speciellt bad stoppen gav oss mycket positivt av utflykten otroligt fint ordnat. Bra plats på båten, fräscht och enkelt åka med. Ingen stress och bra personal. - buss transfer måste bli bättre överlag , bättre bussar med bälten som fungerar och lägre hastighet och bättre ordnade parkering. Vi kunde stannat lite längre vid första stoppet så man får se fler sköldpaddor tydligare, såg en på långt håll. Delfiner syntes inte kan tas bort ur beskrivning

Leuke boottocht met fijne zwem stops (al waren deze wel aan de korte kant). De boottocht is zeer geschikt voor kinderen. Mooie rotsformaties gezien. Als je deze trip boekt om zee schildpadden te zien, die zijn er alleen in de haven (1 of 2).

Over 13 supposed to be we had very young children on board. The crew were very concerned about their safety. Only saw 4 turtles and two of those while standing at the harbour. Best bit was talk by the volunteers about turtle research. That was awesome.

Although the boat trip was very pleasant it was highly focused on swimming stops rather than seeing the turtles. We were lucky to see 2 turtles but time was limited on this activity. Please spend a little more time on this. Thank you. The TUI guide and volunteers from the turtle preservation team were excellent and knowledgeable.

Even though we didn't see a huge amount of turtles we learned a lot about the island and conservation. The guides were great and great value for a half day trip

Vi likte veldig godt båtturen, den var fin. Helt magisk å få muligheten til å bade på de plassene vi hadde stopp. Badestoppene kunne gått vært litt lenger, fordi vi kosa oss veldig og folk brukte litt tid på å komme seg ut i vannet. Det som burde forbedres er guidene, vi hørte så vidt hva som ble sagt underveis (vi hørte godt hva de som hadde innlegg om skilpaddene sa, men ikke guidene). Det burde også vært opplyst om at transporten til selve utflukten var såpass tidkrevende og ink. Bussbytte.

The refreshment shop was limited in stock. It was a chilly day and the only hot drink was coffee. Hot chocolate would have been nice. The tour was good. Information about the turtles was good and we actually saw a couple, one rose to the surface. The boat was clean and reasonably comfortable.

We were lucky we spotted 3 turtles, the poor things were surrounded by numerous boats and had nowhere to go! Only half an hour turtling before taken for two half hour swimming stops which is quite boring if not swimming. Definitely more of a swim stop and drop than anything else. Should be two separate trips

Mooi avontuur, schitterende foto's gemaakt, alleen reisleidster waren slecht te verstaan. Sprak met dialect en nasaal. Men adverteert met bezoek aan schildpadden eiland, maar je mag niet op het eiland zelf komen. Volkomen reglementair maar dat zouden bij het boeken van deze trip, wel moeten vermelden

We paid to go turtle spotting which we did for about 15 minutes, ( we did see 2 turtles) we were told there would be a chance to swim but most of the trip was about swimming, if we had been told this we wouldn’t have gone just to sit and wait while others swam , very misleading not worth the money we paid just to sit on a boat . Not impressed, would not recommend

The trip was massively over sold. We had to stand the entire trip as the boat was too full and nowhere to sit. It felt crowded and unsafe. Never again.

het is een leuke uitstap, maar spijtig genoeg gingen wij op het schildpaddeneiland niet aan land zoals ik het verwacht had met de titel "Zakynthos boottocht voor de hele familie naar Schildpaddeneiland, inclusief snorkelen". snorkelstop was heerlijk. - mikro op het schip was in zeer slechte staat, gids was amper te verstaan.

Överfull båt, fanns inte plats att sitta ens, grinig guide, sköldpaddstur? Enda vi såg var en sköldpadda i hamnen, dagens höjdpunkt, kunde ha stannat på land.. sedan åkte man runt lite bara och stannade och badade två ggr. Guiden talade engelska i högtalare, vi hörde inget av vad hon sade. INTE värt pengarna någonstans.

Jos matkaa markkinoidaan merikilpikonna risteilynä, olisi kiva että mentäisiin sellaisiin paikkoihin joissa niitä voisi näkyä tai pesimäpaikoille. Nyt tämä retki jäi enemmän kahden kerran uinti reissuksi ja kerrotaan kilpikonnista. Että en mainostaisi kilpikonna risteilynä tätä retkeä, vaikka tekstissä lukee että saattaa nähdä. Voisiko sitten olla sellainen kamera veneessä joka näyttäisi merenalta kuvaa joissa kilpikonnat ehkä näkyä
