Tijdens deze 4x4 dagtocht vol actie ga je off-road dwars door de ongerepte landschappen van Boa Vista. Roberto, een van onze lokale gidsen, zegt: "De Viana woestijn is Boa Vista's eigen stukje Sahara. Het zand wordt aangevoerd vanuit West-Afrika en we rijden de enorme duinen op en af". Je bezoekt verder het scheepswrak op het strand van Santa Maria en stopt bij het dorp Sal Rei en Povoaçao Velha. En er is tijd voor ontspanning met een lunch aan zee.In de Viana woestijn ga je helemaal los. Als je in een 4x4 over de zandduinen scheurt voel je de wind in je haren. Daarna neem je een kijkje bij het roestige scheepswrak van Cabo de Santa Maria – hét symbool van Boa Vista. Roberto zegt: "Er zijn ongeveer 150 scheepswrakken op de eilanden van Kaapverdië, maar dit is het meest mysterieuze wrak van allemaal. Het is ook een geweldige plek om een selfie te nemen. Je maakt een korte stop in Sal Rei om een blik te werpen op de visserspier van de hoofdstad. En daarna smul je van een lunch met lokale specialiteiten in een nabijgelegen strandrestaurant."Dan staat Povoaçao Velha, de oudste nederzetting van het eiland, op het programma. Je krijgt de gelegenheid om wat rond te kijken in dit afgelegen gehucht en je onder de lokale bevolking te mengen. Dan is het alweer tijd voor je laatste stop: het strand van Santa Monica. Met 15 km aan wit zand en golvende duinen staat dit strand in de top 10 van de mooiste stranden ter wereld. De perfecte plek om deze tocht af te sluiten. Daya the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, funny and even though he said he felt unwell still managed to look after us and keep us entertained. Daya is a credit to Tui and even took to the guitar and sang a few songs at the beach hut lunch. Worth the money. Just wish we had longer at Santiago beach.

De lunch aan het strand was echt wel heel goed, aanrader de tonijn! De reisgids was heel leuk, vertelde ook veel veel over het leven op Boa Vista en de chauffeur was zeer ervaren. Verder vonden wij de excursie aan de dure kant voor wat je te zien /doen krijgt.

It was making an island tour for the sake of getting money out of people. Been to Sal Island and the island tour was good., the tour at Boa Vista was poor, nothing to really tour and see / do. Just a way to get money out of you and could have been half a day.

The shipwreck was very disappointing if we had seen a picture of it before we would have booked the half day. I also have a delicate back and wasn’t told at the beginning that the tour was off road most of the time . Especially the 30 mins to the shipwreck. Luckily I read the confirmation email and noticed the recommendation of not travelling if you suffer from back problems so I took medication. The guide and driver were excellent

The Boa Vista 4x4 Tour, was fantastic! Very well organised, very informative and fun! Wilson the guide very knowledgeable and Nelson the driver very very attentive! The only thing that must be reevaluated: more then 30 minutes when stopping at Sal Reí! At least 1h. Besides that everything else was great !

Zoals je hierboven kan zien, vonden we de excursie niet denderend. De rit op zich OK maar er valt niets te zien van bezienswaardigheden. We moesten het stellen met eventjes zandsurfen, een kapelletje, een uurtje hoofdstad en een niet afgewerkt hotel. Eigenlijk is het in onze ogen geen bestemming om zoveel geld uit te geven aan een excursie waar niets te beleven valt. Waarom een 6 voor de gids? Hij zal nog heel wat ervaring moeten opdoen. Minimale uitleg.

De excursie op zich was top, er is namelijk niet zo veel te doen op het eiland en zo heb je toch een idee. Ik heb wel een opmerking betreffende de eerste hulp bij ongevallen. Ik ben onwel geworden en er was niemand van de begeleiding die eerste hulp kon toedienen. Gelukkig waren een aantal toeristen die dat wel konden maar dit zou een minimum vereiste moeten zijn van de begeleiding. Men zal meer en meer oudere toeristen als publiek krijgen.

Picked up from the front of the hotel. That seemed a bit chaotic. Everyone trying to get to the vehicles. There was ten 4 x4 jeeps. But once we were directed to the right vehicle it was a lovey day. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. He explained everything and checked as a group we were all enjoying ourselves. We spent time travelling though the desert sand, sand boarding, visited the oldest church, spent time in the capital. Had a lovely lunch and spent time on the beach, Wonderful

There was lack of information about the island. We were barely spoken to, our driver did not even introduce himself. There was no commentary, just drove in silent. The seats were very uncomfortable. It would have been nice to have learnt more about Boa Vista.

Der Aufenthalt beim Mittagessen hätte länger sein können, man hätte sich an dem Strand gut länger aufhalten können. Dafür etwas anderes weglassen zB Sandboarding/nur 1-2 Strände bei dieser Tour. Auch der Aufenthalt in Sal Rei mit einer 1/2 Stunden war sehr knapp bemessen. Man hat von der Stadt nichts gesehen. Ein Marktbesuch war nicht möglich, was sehr schade war. Da dies die einzige Möglichkeit zum Einkaufen war. Es sollte auch ein Flyer geben, auf dem die Ausflüge explizit beschrieben sind.

Our driver couldn’t speak English. Should have game drive vehicles as sitting in the back is dreadfully uncomfortable. Should have chairs and cooler boxes to stop and enjoy country side a bit more. Desert part was a waste of time really. . More time in town would be good. Guide that speaks English would be very much better as we can talk about everything.

Eine tolle Tour mit Geländegängigen Fahrzeugen die auf huckeligen Pisten auch benötigt werden. . Tolle Reiseleiterin Becki die uns betreut hat . Preisleistung passt nicht, kaum Informationen, über Land und Leute , in der Hauptstadt kaum Zeit , keine Info bei Nachfrage in der Wüste . Niedriges Niveau und für uns sehr enttäuschend.! Wenn ich eine Off Road Tour hätte haben wollen, hätte ich die gebucht. Einheimische Anbieter bieten deutlich günstigere Preise an und viel besserer Inhalt . Leider ein verschenkter Tag mit TUI und viel Geld !!!

I am unsure what you could improve on. There’s not a lot to say on the island and when the rusting Hulk has gone from the beach, I’m unsure what else there is to see. Of course the beaches are beautiful. But the landscape is arid and desolate. When you get excited over seeing a donkey, you know it’s not been a fantastic day.

We were missed on pick up, however soon rectified as another Tui vehicle collected us and took us to catch up with the tour. Hugo was an excellent guide. The whole day was very enjoyable and gave us an insight into of the island & some interesting beauty spots. Only thing I would suggest maybe stay a little longer at each stop. Would recommend

Een hele leuke dagtocht, waarbij je een goede indruk krijgt van Boa Vista. Van sandboarden in de woestijn van Viana, crossen over zandduinen en rotsige wegen, door een gat in de muur rijden, restanten van een vergaand schip bekijken tot een bezoek aan Sal Rei met als afsluiting het mooie strand van Santa Monica. Onze chauffeur had veel lol met het zo hard mogelijk crossen op plekken waar hij dat kon doen. De lunch met de voeten in het zand bij een beachfront restaurant was heerlijk.

Le repas était très bien manque le petit café à la fin du repas avec le dessert. Notre guide était serviable et répondait à toutes nos questions. La plage et le beach club pour terminer la journée étaient vraiment magnifiques C’était une belle journée.

Stefan and Nelson were both absolutely brilliant all day, nothing was too much trouble or stress and they were such good company beyond just being guides they made you feel like you were having a day out with friends! Food was lovely and the length of tour and sites visited were perfect, as was the food and service at the Morabeza.

Der Ausflug war schon schön. Wir hätten uns mehr Individualität gewünscht. Für unseren Geschmack zu viele Leute. Aber alles in Allem war es ein Erlebnis.

Wat wij heel leuk vonden is de diversiteit die in de dag zat. Maar wij vinden de prijs en wat je hiervoor krijgt wel aan de hoge kant. Sonny wist veel te vertellen en praatte de dag superleuk aan elkaar.

Lunch was lovely and in a very nice setting. Jeep was cramped and very uncomfortable. Not much commentary during the excursion. Santa Monica beach was disappointing as nothing to do there.

Guide sympathique et à l’écoute, Chauffeur prudent, Par contre 4x4 petit pour 7 personnes à l’arrière, peu de place pour installer ses jambes surtout pour les personnes de grande taille.

Duin surfen was erg leuk, goede gids. Deze zat bij ons in het voertuig en vertelde onderweg ook het een en ander. Maar ook de andere stops waren goed geregeld. Leuke ontvangst ook.

Our driver Celestine was outstanding, so helpful & engaged with the entire group, we cant speak highly enough of him, he was great & needs the recognition he deserves We had a great time & enjoyed all the stops I would suggest that each 4x4 carries a rubbish bag & have the group collect any of the rubbish at the Wreck stop. All around the island its pristine except the area where the ship wreck is, we were flabbergasted at the amount of rubbish (not marine debris/litter)
