Wist je dat Venetië op meer dan 100 eilanden is gebouwd? Het staat bekend om zijn web van diepblauwe kanalen, de indrukwekkende gebouwen erlangs, en de prachtige stenen bruggen die kriskras eroverheen buigen. En tijdens deze dagexcursie van Istrië naar Venetië steek je per boot de Adriatische Zee over en heb je vrije tijd in deze romantische Italiaanse stad en ga je zelf op verkenning.Je komt aan in stijl bij de San Basilio pier, midden in het centrum van Venetië. En daar begin je aan je ontdekkingstocht door 'La Serenissima'. Terwijl je door deze legendarische plek wandelt, heb je genoeg tijd om de highlights van de stad te bekijken. Hoe bizar is dat, sta je ineens op het bekende San Marco plein. Alsof je in een film bent, zeker als je naar de prachtige byzantijnse San Marco basiliek en zijn klokkentoren kijkt.Stap in een gondel, of tel alle bruggen die er zijn. En loop in en uit bij de ene na de andere klassieke eetgelegenheid. Er is genoeg te zien en te doen. Vroeg in de avond ga je op eigen gelegenheid naar de haven voor de terugreis naar Kroatië en je laat Venetië achter je. Kijk nog even achterom: je bent echt in één van de topsteden in Italië geweest.

Venetië heeft een toeristenbelasting van EUR 5,00 per persoon ingevoerd om de stad binnen te komen, maar er zijn voor zover geen verdere datums in 2024 waarop dit van toepassing zal zijn. Naar verwachting worden de tarieven in het voorjaar van 2025 weer ingevoerd
Op dagen waarop de toeslag van toepassing is, kun je vooraf online of op de dag zelf betalen met je mobiele telefoon
Het is verplicht om deze toeristenbelasting op bepaalde datums te betalen. Als je niet betaalt, wordt je de toegang tot Venetië geweigerd

We had a fantastic day. Transfers from our hotel went smoothly. Great guides from the catamaran company. We had about 6 hours in Venice. Once we were on the catamaran we were offered ‘add ons’ which we took up- transfers by water taxi to and from the port, lunch and a gondola ride. Some people were more adventurous than us and made their own way around. It is a long day but worth it.

We loved our trip to Venice from Rovinj. I would have liked to know more about the facilities on the boat in advance. I would also have liked to know that there are optional extras (lunch, gondola, boat trips, guided tour) because we would have planned our day around those in advance if we'd known. Also the transfer back to the hotel from the boat was a bit chaotic (Rovinj gets very busy by the harbour in the evenings).

You should mention it’s 6hrs travelling on the sea And also the costs for transfers from boat to centre before booking so people can make a decision and not get trapped into spending more money than they budgeted for.

Well planned excursion. Highlights were the gondola ride and the lunch at a lovely wee restaurant. The weather was 38 degrees so having a guide was essential to save us wandering aimlessly in the heat! Had plenty free time once we got our bearings and sampled ice cream and drinks in St Mark's Square. 3 hours each way from Rovinj was a long haul but still ample time in Venice without feeling rushed.

This is a trip that should not be missed. It was smooth running from start to finish, we had an excellent experience and a day in Venice which was amazing, informative and we left knowing that we had checked so many things off our bucket list! There are no complaints at all and I would advise anyone thinking about the trip dont let the price put you off , its one of the best day trips I have ever had, value for money, historical and informative.

Great way to see Venice. It's a long day but worth it. The catamaran was comfortable, indoors so also warm! They open up the upper deck on approach to Venice which is great. We took up the offer of the planned excursions with the guides which I would say is a good idea. If you don't then it will be more expensive and you could spend a lot of time wondering what to do. when you only have a day you need a plan. The guides were really good and we had a great day.
