This tour takes in the historic Agia Triada Monastery, a guided tour of Chania and time to unwind at Crete's only natural lake. Angeliki, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Agia Triada offers a glimpse into Crete's rich cultural heritage. It was built during the Venetian period and boasts an impressive array of frescoes and religious artefacts. The monastery is an oasis of tranquillity, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards.'After exploring the monastery, you'll head up to the Hill of Prophet Elias, also known as Profitis Ilias, to soak up the insta-worthy views here. Then, you'll continue to Chania, one of Crete's most appealing port towns. Steeped in history and renowned for its atmospheric Venetian harbour, you'll explore its narrow streets on a guided tour. You'll also have the chance to shop along the famous ‘Leather Lane' and enjoy some free time to stroll around the harbour or delve further into the old town.To round off the tour, we'll visit Lake Kournas, a jewel of a freshwater lake surrounded by hills. The lake is home to a wide range of wildlife, including turtles and a variety of bird species. You'll have free time to explore, take a swim in the limpid waters, or enjoy a walk around the lake. Angeliki says, ‘Local myths claim that the lake is bottomless, but science has intervened and in fact it's only 22.5 metres deep.'

The monastery would benefit from a guide map. The individual buildings are not identified so this would help know what each one is for. The trip to the lake felt like it was just tagged on and was disappointing as it was over developed and almost tacky

De gids vertelde de ganse dag op een eentonige en saaie manier de ganse geschiedenis van Kreta, beginnend van 900 v.C.!!!! Bij bezoek aan het klooster wist hij blijkbaar niet dat hij ons moest gidsen en heeft met ons nog niet de helft bezocht! Aan het meer mochten we de bus uit voor 45min en waren we vrij, maar daar was eigenlijk niks te zien! In Chania weer geschiedenis les en eindelijk 2 uur vrije tijd zodat we eindelijk iets konden eten en drinken!! Geen aangename ervaring!!!

We hadden een leuke gids die veel vertelde. Het klooster mooi en interessant om te zien. We hadden 2 uren vrije tijd in Chania wat eigenlijk veel te weinig was om te zien, ook omdat je ook in deze tijd moet eten. Daarna naar het meer van Kournas, dit was een aanfluiting. Het meer zelf is prachtig maar alles er omheen haalt zijn schoonheid naar beneden. Waterfietsen en afval wat overal ligt, veel te toeristisch. De reisleidster en de chauffeur hadden vanaf begin Hebel wat wel sfeer bepalend was.

Informatie over Kreta en geschiedenis tijdens busreis saai en moeilijk te volgen .Was alsof je op school zat bij een geschiedenis les. Te weinig tijd bij klooster om zelf rond te lopen en bij het meer idem. Chania was goed.

Die Führung in im Kloster Agia Triada war interessant mit historischen, aktuellen und teilweise ausführlichen Hintergrundinformationen. Ich dachte, wir würden in Chania noch mehr gemeinsam anschauen und geführt werden (z.B. Museumsbesuch oder spezielle Lokalitäten). Insgesamt war Chania nicht so Schwerpunkt wie ich erwartet hatte. Der Aufenthalt am Süsswassersee Kournas war eindeutig zu kurz (45 min), um schwimmen zu gehen, wie in Aussicht gestellt.

Zunächst war der Transfer erst ca. 15 Minuten verspätet am Hotel um uns abzuholen. Am Kloster war die freie Zeit, versprochen waren 45 Minuten, mit dann nur noch 25 Minuten reichlich knapp. Das war sehr schade, da es hier tatsächlich interessante Sachen zu sehen gibt. Mehr Zeit wäre hier angebracht. Die Zeit in Chania ist angemessen. Am Ende geht die Tour noch zu einem wunderschönen See. Hier ist leider 0 Zeit um den See mit einem Boot zu befahren und Schildkröten zu sehen.

We were told we would be spending 2 hours at the Lake we were there barely 40 minuets. The main attraction for us was this part of the trip as we have a 12 year old daughter with us. I could have travelled to the places in a hire car myself for less money.

Het klooster was prachtig, wij hadden hier nog wel wat meer informatie over willen hebben. Het was nu een vluchtig bezoek. De 3 uur in Chania waren te lang waardoor het bezoek aan het karnasmeer te kort was helaas. Van ons had de verdeling qua tijd anders gemogen.

Wycieczka ogólem bardzo ciekawa, troche slabo zorganizowana w czasie - za malo czasu na zwiedzanie klasztoru - nie udalo sie na spokojnie wszystkiego zobaczyc (zabraklo okolo 30 min), przede wszystkim zdecydowanie za malo czasu nad jeziorem - nie mozliwe do wykonania przeplyniecie rowerkiem na druga strone zeby zobaczyc zólwie, pospacerowac, odwiedzic sklepiki ( tu powinno byc co najmniej 3h). Ogromne podziekowania dla kierowcy i przewodniczki.

Planning over de hele dag is prima. De 'rondleiding met gids' door het centrum van Chania is wat kort. Dat was van de bus, door een winkelstraat naar de haven en vanaf daar had je vrije tijd. Dus was niet echt een rondleiding. Maar over het algemeen dik tevreden met de dag.

De excursie was afwisselend. Een bezoek aan het klooster, een tussenstop waar we een mooi panorama over de stad hadden, het vrij zijn in de stad zelf ( iets te kort in tijd) en als laatste het meer. Fijne vriendelijke gidsen met kennis van zaken.

För lite tid på klostret och sjön. Upplevdes stressigt, fina och interessanta platser dock, men hade varit bättre med färre och mer tid. Lite otydlig guide, både språkligt och organisatoriskt. Höll på att helt missa museet och de lokala varorna på klostret. (Förresten, viktigt att säga beeches och inte ********** …)

Bardzo mila Pani przewodnik. Niestety, przez niedzialajacy poprawnie mikrofon Pani przewodnik wycieczka duza stracila na atrakcyjnosci. Nie moglismy Jej slyszec w miejscach które tego wymagaly, w zwiazku z tym zarówno klasztor jak i sama Chania nie dostarczyly oczekiwanej wiedzy. Tym samym otrzymalismy zdawkowa wiedze w autobusie ale juz w terenie nie. Ze wzgledu na tlum w miescie oraz powage miejsca w klasztorze nie bylo mozliwosci aby nam cos opowiedziala. Wycieczka zawiera za duzo punktów- co powoduje, ze na kazda z atrakcji jest zbyt malo czasu. Mialam poczucie ciaglego pospiechu ( bardzo to do Krety nie pasuje). Klasztor - przepiekne miejsce ( ale zabralo nam czasu na obejrzenie muzeum), panorama na miasto- dla mnie niekoniecznie potrzebna. Chania - spodziewalam sie wiecej informacji na temat miasta, historii, zabraklo mi prawdziwego zwiedzania. Jezioro - w pospiechu, na pobyt zostalo 0,5 godz. Pani przewodnik bardzo sie starala, miala wiedze.

Osoba informujaca o wycieczce, podawala inne godziny calej imprezy turystycznej. Zapewniala o atrakcjach, z których nie dalo sie skorzystac z uwagi na to ze przewodnik konkretnej wycieczki p. Malgorzata skrócila wszystkie miejsca postoju=zwiedzania o kilkadziesiat minut. To nie byla mila wycieczka tylko "zaliczanie" na prawo most na lewo most , jedziemy dalej. W samej Chani 2,5 godziny z obowiazkiem dojscia na czas, czyli 2 godz. to stanowczo za malo, ale przede wszystkim wg opisu wycieczki.

het klooster is de moeite om eens te hebben gezien en het oud stadsgedeelte van Chania was zeker de moeite waard en er was voldoende tijd om rond te wandelen.

You see a lot on this tour: the monastery and monument were highlights for us. We did this in a heatwave and were disappointed that the company did not offer water or comfort breaks. There was also no caution to dress modestly for the monastery - the guide did not mention this rather a monastic chased me with a skirt to cover my legs … very embarrassing! The lake is a must see just not enough time there: only 45mins. Chania is a 20min walk from coach to town due to new laws. This is uphill.

Obsluga bardzo mila, zwlaszcza p. Ewelina w recepcji- Pólka, to jest bardzo korzystne ze mozna sie porozumiec po polsku. Pani Agata równiez bardzo milo nam pomogla dobrac wycieczki do naszych mozliwosci kondycyjnych. Bylysmy we dwie kolezanki, którym przyznano pokój malzenski, a nie jestesmy para. Wobec tego w nocy gdy przyjechalysmy byl z tym dla mnie problem. Jednak pomimo iz nie znam angielskiego udalo mi sie porozumiec i otrzymalam drugi koc, a nastepnie dostalysmy inny pokój. Brak tanca.

The info brochure shown to us whilst discussing tours with Tui at our hotel, showed the visit to the Commonwealth war graves site outside of Chania. However, whilst on the tour, we asked our guide why we didn't visit, and was told that in the past tourists felt the tour was too long, and so the war graves visit was taken off the agenda. This was most disappointing for us, as we (from Australia) had a connection to the WW2 Crete actions, and wished to visit. Aside from that we enjoyed the rest

Had a great time, spent the right amount of time at each location. The interpretor was knowledgeable and kept us all well informed. I'm not a big drinker so the wine tasting was if no interest but I'm sure others would love it. It was interesting about the olive oil but again it's not something I would have on its own. Chania was lovely I had a lovely time and it was a perfect allocation of time, had a lovely meal in our time.

Really enjoyed the monastery and Chania. Although it did feel somewhat rushed and I would like to have spent more time at both. The stop off at the viewpoint and the lake were both disappointing and could have been removed to allow more time in Chania and the monastery.

Bus war alt, Klimaanlage ausgeschaltet oder kaputt. Bei fast 30°C kein Vergnügen. Funkgeräte immer wieder ausgefallen und verrauscht. Der Aufenthalt am Kloster war kurz und touristisch, der Aussichtspunkt vor Chania ok aber kein Muss. Chania ist schön und interessant. 3h sind leider sehr knapp bemessen. Haben die Tour hier abgebrochen, um länger in Chania zu bleiben und sind abends selbstständig zum Hotel zurück, insofern keine Bewertung des Sees möglich. Guide war nett und informativ

Was een mooie excursie met prachtige uitzichten maar het meer viel ons tegen. Erin lopen is onmogelijk ivm de stenen en de tijd is te kort om te waterfietsen. De gids heeft veel verteld over de geschiedenis van het eiland.in duidelijk Engels. Chania heeft mooie kleine straatjes met volop kiosks en gezellige eet en drink gelegenheden. Daar hadden we ook genoeg tijd voor.

Heel goede gids,mooie bestemming. Bezoek aan het klooster vonden we minder,we hadden lier meer tijd gehad om te verblijven in de oude stad van Chania.

The visit to the monastery and Chania were very enjoyable. The guide was excellent with very interesting insights to share with us on Crete and the sites we visited. The only comment would be that it felt like a long time on the coach but the guide chatted to us during these times.

Leuke dagtrip met gevarieerd programma. Agia Triada is mooi, Chania is echt een leuke stad voor een bezoek. Door de tussenstop bij het oorlogsmonument en het meer zit je nooit lang in de bus. Aanrader.

Enjoyed the monastery and time there was just right. Loved Chania and again time spent there was just enough. The Lake stop was just a photo opportunity and no time to walk round . The guide was knowledgeable, audio sets were not adequate and we couldn’t hear everything said. The guide needed to explain a bit more when we left the coach about orientation. This would have stopped lots of questions about timings etc. It was a lovely relaxed day.
