What to expect
The town of Kruja is regarded as one of Albania's most important Medieval settlements. And, with over 1,400 years in its history books, it's not hard to see why. You'll dive into this heritage on this guided tour, which starts with a visit to the town's main attraction, Kruja Castle. One of Albania's most important national heroes, Skanderbeg, held off Ottoman invaders here during three separate sieges in the 1400s. During your visit, you'll hear all about it as you walk the walls and explore the inner halls. Afterwards, you'll head to the Skanderbeg Museum to hear more about the man behind the glory. Then, it's time to head to the bazaar, where you'll have some free time to shop for souvenirs – carpets, coffee pots and savoury pastries are all available here.
