What to expect
A shopping trip in Turkey is one of those must-do experiences. And this morning in Fethiye is great for bargain-hunting. You'll call into a shopping centre dedicated to Turkish souvenirs, haggle your way through the local market and enjoy some free time in the town centre.You'll round off in the centre of Fethiye, where you'll have some free time to browse modern shops, boutiques and the bazaar area of permanent market-style stalls at your own pace. After a busy day of hitting the shops, you could pull up a pew at a street-side café for some Turkish coffee and sweet pastries.

An dem Tag unseres Ausfluges hat es zwar geregnet, trotzdem hatten wir eine tolle Tour. Unser Guide Ado hat den Plan kurzfristig angepasst. Den offenen Markt haben wir komplett ausgelassen (die meisten Stände haben gar nicht erst aufgebaut) und wir sind direkt zum alten Markt gefahren und konnten durch die Straßen schlendern. Für uns war es, trotz des Wetters, eine spannende Tour mit vielen interessanten Infos von Ado! Wir haben die Tour genossen!

The guide kept saying that the company worked with the sellers on the first stop to offer a good discount exclusively for us and that this was the best place for Turkish delight - did not get offered any discount on the marked prices and the boxed Turkish delight was identical to others places visited, also didn’t enjoy the haggling and con tactics by the vendors in the old town nor the market stalls who are very good at trying to fleece you out of your money.

Reiseleiter unfreundlich es regnete deshalb fuhr man nicht zum Markt sondern in ein Einkaufszentrum da hatten wir viel zu viel Zeit war unmöglich in Fethiye wären wir gerne länger geblieben hatten nur 1 std konnten nicht zur Promenade ect Markt wurde gar nicht angefahren haben aber erfahren dass er trotzdem offen war also shr schlecht

Staff and guide were great, journey was great. The gold centre just wasn't to our interest, the leather and turkish delight shop was interesting, the market itself was pretty small and only took 20 minutes to walk round so we were pretty bored afterwards. Only reason I put 8 for safety was because people on the markets were grabbing us and shouting at us if we didn't buy something, would have been nice if the guide was close by

Das Leder-und Pelzgeschäft fand ich entsetzlich. Leider habe ich das Programm nicht sorgfältig durchgelesen, sodaß ich von diesem Teil des Ausflugs nichts wusste. Ich wäre wohl auf eigene Faust nach Fethiye gefahren.

Der Ausflug an sich war ok. Fethiyes Altstadt ist sehr schön, dafür jedoch viel zu wenig Zeit vorgesehen. Die knapp 45 Minuten die einem zu Beginn genommen wird bei dieser Touristen-Einkaufs-Welt ist völlig unnötig und unangebracht! Die Zeit sollte man lieber für die Altstadt verwenden. Der Markt in Fethiye ist ganz nett, wenn man auf Krabbeltische steht wie bei Primark. Gemüse-&Obstmarkt schön jedoch was soll man da als Tourist erwerben.

Überflüssige Verkaufsveranstaltung am Anfang in einem unattraktiven Kaufhaus mit Süßwaren, die es an jeder Ecke gibt. Zu langer Aufenthalt für eine reine Schoppingtour. Die alternative kürzere Tour beginnt viel zu früh am Morgen.

Prior to going to the market, We went to a leather and turkish delight shop (we were told they would show how turkish delight is made and good value) we did not see how it was made, Was there for over an hour, Shop keepers shut the doors to prevent people from leaving the shop, the whole day is too long for a shopping excursion, not a good experience

Our vacation was fantastic, we had a great time at the hotel and on the trips, the stuff members helped us a lot especially Kaya who was in touch with us all the time. He told us what to do and what is worth seeing. We felt very safe becasue of his presence.

Fethiye Alt und Neustadt kann man sich definitiv mal anschauen, danach die Promenade entlang zum Markt, um das ein oder andere Schnäppchen zu machen. Besonderen Dank an unseren Guide Ado, der uns mit vielen Info‘s während der Fahrt die Zeit vertrieben hat :)

Der Tourguide war überragend gut und sehr unterhaltsam. Der Markt war wahrscheinlich wie halt so ein Markt ist. Uns gefällt es nicht, dass man von jeder Seite angewuatscht wird. Man fühlt sich nach einer Zeit sehr unwohl. Ansonsten kann man schöne Dinge sehen und günstig Sachen kaufen, wenn man gut verhandeln kann

Der Stop an dem Einkaufsgebäude war für alle Beteiligten unfassbar und unmöglich. Der Basar war in Ordnung, all dies haben wir in Hotelnähe nach 20 Minuten Fußweg. Der Markt war nach 10 Minuten durch und wir hatten so lange Aufenthalt, dass man sich dann nur in ein Café setzen konnte. Wir haben knapp 100€ für den Ausflug bezahlt, werde jedem davon abraten

I wanted to go to the market why take me to a leather shop I didn't ask for. This was the practice 12 years ago, still to be doing it in 2025. I'm sorry but that might make this our last holiday with Tui. Very disappointing

Taking us to the first shop should NOT be in the tour !! The staff there were very intimidating and rude and spoilt the rest of the trip. TUI don’t need to take their holiday customers to a place like that on their holiday. Just take them to the market where you are free to wander and shop without feeling intimidated. When we were sold the trip by the TUI rep he never mentioned us being taken to that shop and WASTING AN HOUR of our otherwise fantastic holiday.

Was told by Tui rep in hotel it took 45 mins from hotel to Fethiye, which was ok as I had 2 young children with me. It was 1 hour 50 mins, Which stopped at a leather & Turkish delight shop which we were not told about. We just wanted to go to the market and the rep never explained about the full excursion. It was a long bus ride, especially for a 6 year old who has additional needs. Very disappointed as too long for young children. Most shops in the town were also closed as a Sunday.

Guido Erdogan ist top und hilft wo er kann. Der Preis geht absolut in Ordnung. Leider sind die Ausflugsziele wie ein Kaufhaus, was scheinbar nur auf einen wartet nicht so toll. Den Markt hat man schnell durch. Überall die gleichen Fakeklamotten! Bei der Hitze Ende Juni ist der Körper schnell am Ende.

Het Engels van de reisleider/gids was erg slecht. Veel van haar uitleg ging hierdoor verloren. Het bezoek aan de eerste winkel was verloren tijd. Alles peperduur. Het enige pluspunt was de aanwezigheid van een (niet al te schone) toilet. Het bezoek aan de oude stad was aardig, maar veel te kort. Het bezoek aan de markt was, ook gezien de hitte, veel te lang. Iets meer oude stad en minder markt was beter geweest.

Sehr gut hat uns die Gegend drumherum gefallen, die Stadt mit ihren vielen attraktiven Geschäften, die Mall und die Freundlichkeit insgesamt. Ebenso die Promenade und das Meer mit dem weiten Blick in die Ferne.... Schwierig war die WC-Situation. Diesbezüglich ist noch Luft nach oben.

Abholung gut, erster stopp war der reinste Reinfall wie früher bei Kaffee Fahrten da wird hinter einem einfach die Türe geschlossen und los geht's mit aufdrängen von sachen. 2 stopp auf dem Markt was sich als schoppingmaile rausstellte sehr sehr auf drängenliche Personen, 3 stopp war dann besser. Resümee wir werden diese Tour nicht mehr buchen.

Wat ik minder vindt is dat de tijd die je hebt op de markt, echt voorbij vliegt. Ik heb misschien maar de helft gezien. Daar hadden we graag meer tijd door willen brengen. Hadden niet eens tijd om te lunchen, want dat vonden we zonde van de tijd.

Fethiye ist sehr schön gelegen und sowohl für Shopping, als auch fürs Flanieren geeignet. Die besuchten Geschäfte (Juwelier & Süssigkeiten) werden ohne Druck und mit der Freiheit, seine eigene Runde zu drehen, gestaltet. Einzig die Klimaanlage hat es auf dem Rückweg nicht mehr geschafft. Die 1,5 Std. Rückfahrt war deshalb bei 37 grad sehr anstrengend. Dafür konnte das Team aber nichts. Alles in Allem super! Machen wir wieder. Volle Empfehlung. Vielleicht wäre Wasser an Bord gut?!

Ich empfehle die Tour auf eigene Faust zu unternehmen. Der Bazar ist sehr groß aber uninteressant; den Süßigkeitladen kann man sich auch sparen; nicht interessant. Entweder stürzt man sich ins Shoppen in Fethiye oder geht am Hafen spazieren.

The first stop at the Gold market was good but you could see the guide was working on commission as the hotel name was given to the store staff. As with all the stall holders we met, they were a little pushy and used some good diversion tactics. The market behind the gold centre was nice with lots of eateries but we were totally shafted by one stall holder, paying totally over the odds. You need to have your wits about you at all times. The final stop was a bit of a waste of time but still good.

Günstiger kommt man nicht nach Fethiye und hat dazu noch einen tollen Guide der sehr viel über Land und Leute weiß und auch tolle Empfehlungen gibt. Klimatisierter Bus. Uns hat’s gefallen :)

Felt very intimidated whilst shopping in fethiye got pressured in buying something we didn’t want as the shop worker would not let us go. However the market was good but would have preferred Fethiye market as this is what we thought we had payed for but was taken to a different market that was not as big as Fethiye market. Had we known we were not going to this market we would not have booked.

Die Führung von Erdogan war sehr interessant und informativ. Auch die lange Freizeit von knapp 4 Stunden war angemessen. Die Verkaufsshows inform von dem Goldschmied der einem Schmuck verkaufen soll und dem Türkischen "Shoppingcenter" welches ein etwas größerer Laden ist der Süßigkeiten, Tee, Kleidung und ähnliches verkauft. Waren unnötig und zeitraubend. Bei den zwei Punkten merkte man das nicht das Erlebnis des Urlaubes sondern der Profit des Veranstalters im Vordergrund stand.

The trip is explained as a trip to the market. You get on your talked at for an hour and we couldnt understand a word of what she was saying. The. Told you stop at the turkish delight shop NOT in the description, to be sold expensive turkish delight wasnt even shown how it was made or anything. Then they wanted to take us to another factory, then a cafe area, then the jewllery shop. We left the group as we wanted to just go to the market and do our own thing like it described!

Fröhliche englischsprachige Tourleiterin, die Allerlei über Land und Leute erzählt hat. Dass auch eine deutschsprachige Tour angeboten wurde, war im Vorfeld nicht bekannt schade für uns. Ablauf der Tour wie beschrieben, die Süßigkeiten sehr lecker und der Besuch der Goldschmiede angenehm kurz.

Mycket bra guide. Bit av däcket lossnade på väg till Fethiye det var inget som åtgärdades utan chauffören fortsatte resan som om inget hänt, allt gick bra men det kändes lite osäkert. Guldbutiken hade kunnat uteslutas då det var dyra priser och det kändes obekvämt att gå in där när man är klädd för marknad och strand. Vi valde betalstranden vid lagunen pga tillgång till toaletter o dusch, ärligt talat var den en besvikelse. Den allmänna stranden såg mycket roligare och mysigare ut.

Gold shop stop AWFUL: hounded by staff within. Market stop TOO LONG: please cut off at least an hour. Blue Lagoon stop TOO SHORT & having to spend another 100 lira each for a nice part of the beach because we’re told better sand, better sun-lounges & less choppy waters is a bit of a drag after already paying for the excursion. Coach was lovely. Staff were proficient (though not nice to witness commission being taken at the beach) and Tui need to pay them more to STOP them always asking for tips.

The market itself was brilliant. Immersing yourself within the hustle and bustle of the locals for a traditional experience. The afternoon spent at Blue Lagoon was beautiful, I would recommend going to the Beach Club & paying the 100 TRY for entry, as this includes a sun bed & umbrella. The only negative was the gold centre stop prior to the market. You felt compelled to buy something, & the salesperson follows your every move.

We though that the lagoon beach was beautiful but didn’t have enough time to enjoy this part of the trip, we felt that the three stops being located half an hour apart meant too much time in the coach. The driver and tour guide were very professional and friendly. This day excursion just wasn’t for us. We lost an hour in the morning when we stopped at the gold shop (which I assumed would be located in close proximity to the market), the beach stop was a little confusing because there were three options, all included additional payment for sunlougers. The lagoon beach was very busy and by the time we walked and found a spot we only had an hour on the beach before we needed to walk back to the coach, this despite being told this was closer to the pick-up point, perhaps a visit on a week day and not the weekend might have been a better option.

Overall I enjoyed our trip to Fethiye and the blue lagoon in ölüdeniz however this trip is not without its faults. 1. This trip is all about trying to make you spend more money after paying £25 per adult and £12 per child we were firstly taken to Talamassos gold centre (a jewellery shop) this whole experience was a waste of 45 minutes and you are pestered the entire time you are there. 2. You have 2.5 hours to spend at fethiye market. While the market is an experience and there are bargains to be had I think 1.5 hours here would be more than sufficient. 3. During the trip we were informed that when you get to the blue lagoon you have 3 options a) public beach, pay for loungers, choppy water etc b) quieter location, 15 lira each, extra for sunbeds and walk 15 mins to beach c) private bar/hotel on lagoon, 100 lira per adult sunbeds included. While this is not particularly expensive, after already paying for the excursion I find it cheeky to then expect every one to pay out more money again. 4. If you took out the time at the gold centre and lessened the time at the market you would have more leisure time at the blue lagoon which for me was the best part of the trip and I would have paid the same just for a full day there.
