What to expect
The Tavolara-Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area is one of the regions in Sardinia with the richest coastal flora and fauna, thanks to the ongoing efforts to preserve its natural beauty over the years. Located off the Gulf of Olbia, it stretches from Capo Ceraso to the area of San Teodoro, encompassing the two main islands of Tavolara and Molara, as well as numerous smaller islets and rocks.Departing from Mare e Rocce Beach in the seaside area of Pittulongu (Olbia), you'll take a rubber boat to visit some of the most beautiful spots within the park area, with at least three stops to fully enjoy its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking landscapes. You will be captivated by the cliffs of Capo Ceraso and the intimate, sun-drenched atmosphere of the area’s numerous coves, by the granite formations of the “flat stones” at Cala Girgolu, and by the famous “natural pools” of Molara and their vibrant colours. For the final stop, you will also make a lengthy stop on the island of Tavolara, rich in history and charm.
