What to expect
"We're going to make you an offer you can't refuse." Well, this used to be Mafia country, after all. In fact, Hollywood descended on this part of the world to film scenes for The Godfather trilogy, so this tour will take in two Sicilian mountain villages that made it onto the silver screen and to relive some of the the most famous scenes.Little more than ghost towns, these Sicilian villages are virtually abandoned these days. First up will be little Savoca, where you'll find the church where Michael Corleone – played by Al Pacino – got married in. You'll walk in his footsteps as you discover the winding alleyways, and even sit in his chair in Bar Vitelli.After a glorious ride through the countryside, you'll soon arrive in medieval Forza d'Agro, a small mountain village, where you'll see the Church of Annuncation, also of Godfather fame. Even if you're not a fan of the films, the views from these clifftop villages are second to none.

De busreis begon goed met de juiste ophaaltijd. Chauffeur Mario nam de haarspeldbochten feilloos en zijn rijervaring bleek ook op de smalle wegen die spannend werden bij tegenliggers. Gids Fabio wist veel te vertellen over de geschiedenis en de bezienswaardigheden. Hij bracht je ook terug in de sfeer van de Godfather films.

Heel 'toeristisch' om te doen natuurlijk, maar nog steeds leuk en onze gids Michaela gaf tijdens de rit naar de dorpjes toe genoeg andere info over Sicilië en haar geschiedenis om het interessant te maken. Pluim ook voor Mario de buschauffeur die de grote tourbus behendig door de haarspeldbochten en nauwe straatjes wist te manoeuvreren.

MAN BEHØVER IKKE HAVE SET FILMENE! Turen tager dig ud og ser 2 vidunderlige små byer i fantasitiske omgivelser. Filmene er optaget i disse byer, men selv uden den viden er byerne og bjergene nogle af de fineste og mest rustikke Sicilanske byer. Guiden er velvidende og en utrolig god fortæller der fortæller om historien bag The Godfather, men også om hitorien omkring byerne og mafiaen på Sicilien generelt. Jeg har ikke set filmen, men turen var stadig en af de bedste ture jeg har været på før.

One of the best tours we have ever been on! Our guide Fabio was fantastic! Full of knowledge, impressively moving seamlessly from English to German, incredibly welcoming and with a great sense of humour. He made sure the tour was well organised and ran very smoothly. A very safe and comfortable journey on the coach. Lots of information about the godfather films and visits to the sites where filming took place, but also a great focus on the villages and their history. Highly recommend!

This was a longer tour (about 7 hours from pick up to drop off) than advertised but absolutely worth it. Fabio was a brilliant guide, knowledgeable, entertaining and enthusiastic. The coach was comfortable and air conditioned but it is a lot of walking in the heat (I went in September) and some steep climbs and steps so be prepared. Worth watching the 1st 2 films again before you go (at least the Sicily scenes)

Nice to see more of Sicily. The guide was well informed and knew film and location well. Didn’t like the fact that you had multiple nationalities on board, requiring guide to speak in multiple languages. This slowed the tours narrative that became a bit tedious.

From being picked up outside our hotel and dropped off at the end, the tour was interesting, comfortable and thoughtfully put together. Fabio our guide was knowledgeable, sharing lots of fascinating viewpoints, not just about the Godfather but also about the cultural life of Sicily. There was time in both villages to explore. We were even able to enjoy a drink in Bar Vitelli. On a hot day there was limited shade to shelter, which for some people was tricky but manageable. Food stop was very good

The trip was wonderful. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us everything about the sites of the Godfather filming and facts about Sicily. Would suggest it needed a little bit more time at each village as felt a little rushed. Tour pick up was 20 minutes late

Whilst this experience was headlined as a “Godfather Tour”, it offered so much more. Our guide Fabio was fantastic - very knowledgeable not only about the Godfather films but also the history of the Maffia and Sicily as a whole, providing some interesting and engaging facts throughout. We enjoyed every aspect of the tour with some beautiful scenery along the way. A special mention to our driver who navigated the hairpin bends with such skill. Great value for money, thoroughly recommended.

The tour was great. Fabio our tour guide was very informative, he did not just tell us about the Godfather the movie, he also gave us the history of the villages and the history of the Mafia. Lunch is not included but we stopped off in one of the villages which had a lovely restaurant with great food and service. I must also say the coach driver was very good coping with those very windy roads. All In all a very good tour worth the money.

Gebucht im Hotel bei Carmelia(TUI-Mitarbeiterin vor Ort), wie schon so oft unkompliziert und super nett. Auf der Tour wurden wir von Fabio begleitet, ein Guide der die Tour zu einem besonderen Erlebnis gemacht hat. Es geht nicht nur um den Paten. Man erfährt auch sehr viel über die Dörfer, die Geschichte, die Kirchen, die Mafia… Es hat wirklich Spaß gemacht zuzuhören. Der Busfahrer bringt die Leute sicher über abenteuerliche Serpentinen. Ein ganz toller Ausflug. Riesen Dank dafür!!!!

Erfreulicher Weise wurde nicht nur über Godfather und den entsprechenden Schauplätzen berichtet, sondern auch über die sehr alte Geschichte dieser Orte und Kirchen. Our guide was amazing. We learnt so much about the island. You don't have to be a godfather film fan to enjoy this trip. Enjoyed the experience. It didn't matter that my wife and I had not seen any of the films. The trip was mainly about the history and culture and was pleasantly interesting given by a first class guide. However we didn't like the cafe where we ate lunch. Very poor pizzas in our opinion.

Our guide Fabio was excellent. Not only was it a tour about the film but he shared a lot of his knowledge of the history the area and villages we visited. We had a great day and this was made more enjoyable by the charismatic Fabio. Would definitely recommend.

Staff on the trip were nice and helpful where they could be. I felt the guides' specific knowledge was limited. He was more experienced in other areas e.g. Etna. But he had a good general knowledge. When some members of the tour were 'lost' it became apparent that some basic exchange of info should have taken place at the start of the trip. E.g introductions by all, it was only a 17 person trip. It was a pleasant trip

wir bekamen einen nette freundlichen Reiseleiter, der uns sehr sicher in deutsch seine Erklärungen gab und verständlich erklärte. Es war für uns beeindruckend, da wir von dem Film nur eine Folge kannten. Empfehlenswert.

Zitten erg lang in de bus om iedereen op te halen en terug te brengen. Hadden pech omdat ongeluk was geweest begon de tour een uur later. 2 dingen gezien dat was t ook erg laat terug omdat reisgenoot kwijt was. Waar niemand iets aan kon doen. Kreeg de indruk dat reisleider niet gewend was. Wist wel veel te vertellen maar chaotisch in afspraken

The guide was outstanding. Fabio was very knowledgable, friendly and an excellent ambassador for Tui. We did more than just visit the sights as we learnt a lot about the villages and Scilly in general. He was talking the whole time and was passionate about the history.

We fully enjoyed the whole experience. My wife loves the Godfather movies so fully enjoyed seeing the setting in Savoca still exactly how it was But the tour was so much more than the movie .Fabio our guide was amazing explaining about the history of the area and the villages and about all aspects of Sicily

This wasn’t just a Godfather tour. As well as visiting the villages where scenes from the films were shot, Fabio our guide gave us lots of information about the history of Sicily. Our half day tour lasted for six hours including free time to explore on our own.

Interessante Tour mit vielen tollen Eindrücken. Tour war in deutsch / englisch angeboten. Hier wurde aber zu 80% nur in englisch kommuniziert. Dadurch war der Anteil an Information für mich als deutschen Teilnehmer nur sehr bedingt informativ. In Zukunft werde ich auf Touren mit mehrsprachigen Angeboten verzichten.

Nachdem wir unseren Tourguide Fabio ja schon auf der Etnatour kennenlernen durften, haben wir uns schon sehr auf die „Godfather“ Tour gefreut! Die Drehorte waren für Fabio nicht das einzige Thema, wir haben ganz nebenbei noch viel über die sizilianische Geschichte und deren Kultur gelernt! Am kommenden Sonntag geht’s dann nochmal zur Vulkaninsel Stromboli. Danke an Fabio und danke an den wirklich guten Busfahrer Roberto!

Mainio retki! Ja mahtava opas. Aikataulu hieman liian hektinen, liian vähän aikaa omaan kiertelyyn. Kakkoskohteessa kaikki oma aika meni ruokailuun, sillä aamun jälkeen ei kukaan ollut syönyt mitään.
