What to expect
To explore the east of Madeira and all its natural beauty, this full day tour is just the ticket. You'll journey through the weaving town of Camacha, reach the second-highest peak on the island, hike in the Ribeiro Frio nature reserve and admire the village of Santana, where lunch is also served. There's also one last stop in Machico, the oldest village.From Funchal, this tour gets underway with a climb up to the basket weaving town of Camacha. Visit a weaving factory, then pass by Pico Arieiro – the second-highest mountain in Madeira. From here you'll be afforded some knock-out views over the entire island.Then stretch your legs with a short hike in the Ribeiro Frio nature reserve to Balcoes viewpoint before heading to Santana for a typical lunch. Afterwards, you'll drive along the Portela Pass for views over Faial and Porto da Cruz. Lastly, there's a stop in Machico, the oldest village in Madeira.
