What to expect
For a top evening of stargazing, look no further than La Palma. The night skies here are protected from excessive light pollution by law, giving you the best chance of a star-filled evening. Your certified Starlight guide will take you to Mirador del Infinito, meaning Infinity Viewpoint, where you'll begin with a laser-guided tour of the stars and constellations. There's a calm and stillness up in the mountains, which feels magnified as you stare through a Celestron™ telescope to find stars, planets and far away galaxies.

Loved seeing the night sky - amazing! Loved seeing planets and stars through the telescope, especially Saturn and Jupiter. Excellent astronomer-guide. Rather a lot of standing around - more talk and/or refreshments would be good. Suggest also more photo opportunities on the way - limited chance to photograph observatories and dishes MATS to lie on would be great! Then we could really see the night sky in comfort

This was an amazing experience, the stars from the mountain top are unreal. Using the telescope was easy and it was extraordinary to see the moons of Jupiter, a dream come true, an experience I will never forget. It is cold up there! Blankets were provided but I was glad to have jumpers too

The TUI app was a bit misleading. There wasn't that much information The whole trip lasted about6.5 hours, not 2 to 4. In the winter we needed very warm clothing, the temperature was about 3C and there was a howling wind. The telescope is perched on uneven ground on the side of a mountain, and of course it has to be dark, so you can't se the ground and with feet like blocks of ice, it was easy to stumble. The sunset views before was magnificent, the guide was excellent about the stars etc.

Booked to go on a Monday there was no trip that day, lack of communication between TUI Rep and company organising the trip. We told rep we could go on the Monday and told we would get refund if there was bad weather but there was no Monday trip there wasn't one when we booked it. Between them they booked us on the Tuesday trip which we couldn't do .

Die Sternenbeobachtung war sehr informativ. Die Anreise auf den Roque war sehr lang durch die Fahrt von Ost nach West und die vielen Baustellen. Insgesamt würde ich den Ausflug aber auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen.

Es war eine sehr informative und amüsante Tour. Unser Guide Stefanie und der Busfahrer Maxi haben exzellente Arbeit geleistet. Sowohl der Sonnenuntergang am Roque de los Muchachos als auch die anschließende Sternenbeobachtung waren unvergesslich; ich habe viel über die Sterne gelernt und ********** bekommen, mehr zu erfahren. Tipp: Unbedingt warme, wintertaugliche Kleider anziehen - oben bei 5-8 Grad weht der Wind bis zu den Knochen.

Hinweg fast drei Stunden mit dem Reisebus hat lange gedauert. Der Rückweg erfolgte über die Ostseite der Insel, obwohl mein Hotel im Westen war. Zum Glück wurden dann Taxis organisiert, in die man umsteigen konnte. Evtl. würde es sich anbieten, mit kleineren Bussen zu fahren. Ansonsten eine sehr interessante und lehrreiche Tour mit tollen, kompetenten Guides.

Grds. gut organisiert. Toller Ausblick auf dem Roque. Sehr informative Erklärungen des Sternenhimmels. Das zeugt von einem enormen Fachwissen. Toll war auch das vorhandene Teleskop. Aber: Besser wäre gewesen, die mehrsprachigen Informationen während der Fahrt öfter abzuwechseln und nicht erst den sehr langen spanischen Text zu sprechen und im Anschluss den deutschen. Etwas mehr Informationen während der Fahrt zu den Veränderungen der Vegetation und der Steine wäre schön gewesen.

De plek om te eren kangs de kant van de weg voor een grsloten bezoekerscentrum ( niet eens op het parkeerterrein) Daarnaast ook weer langs de kant van de openbare weg sterren kijken, we kregen net voor het uitstappen te horen dat er geen fotos gemaakt mochten worden ivm het licht terwijl er constant autos met koplampen langs reden, Tip ik zou van die uiteindelijk 1,5 uur sterren kijken was nog 1/2 uur nodig voor op /afbouw van de 8 uur onderweg iig ook de gelegenheid geven fotos te maken

Disappointing. It said 4-8 hours It was actually 10 hours. The driver David was amazing but the tour guide Stephanie did not introduce herself when she got on. It is not suitable for anyone with travel sickness and the explanation should have said 5 plus hours on switchback roads. There was lack of clarity to the English group at the Los Muchachos stop and the German/English group got at least 60% less information than the Spanish group at the stargazing. Stephanie was brusque at best.

Long & arduous journey with no toilets. Coming back we all felt ill but driver was amazing. Stephanie could have made the experience so much better with some interaction and more friendly approach. A review of the day and what we cover during the journey to the observatory would have helped. Long explanations in 3 languages took too much time esp when looking at stars. Spanish group appeared to have more fun, saw more & had good interactions. Terrible places to stop for picnic , unsafe ground

This trip was amazing! Stefanie and the other staff were so friendly and everything was on time. The bus journey up the volcano took over 2 hours but the views are so worth it. After spending some time at the top the bus goes to the visitor centre where you can watch h the sunset. After that you go to a viewing area to stargaze. There were 3 telescopes and Stefanie explained what everything was but in a really interesting way. This trip is an absolute must when youre here.

Didn't like the fact there were no facilities but we did know this before leaving . Just made the trip extremely uncomfortable. Stephanie was very knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the subject. The Milky Way was visible but not as vivid as seen in pictures. The road trip is definitely not for the faint hearted. We were looked after though and it was a wonderful experience.

Not as good as 2 previous TUI trips this week Driver made us nervous and other passengers going up the mountain.Our last 2 trips very smooth and felt safe . Lots of hanging around during talk on stars Lady though was very knowledgeable. Looking through view finder not as exciting as thought it would be . Observatories up there though were incredible Hoping to receive a photo !! She said she would send of the group with the night sky behind us . I have asked .

De gids vertelde veel in het Spaans, liet, naar onze mening, bij de Engelse en Duitse uitleg zaken weg. Of we waren er al langs gereden zodat de toelichting pas achteraf was. Beloofde sterrenhemel zoals op foto behorende bij reis werd ook niet geboden. Ja, je zag veel sterren, maar niet de vele kleuren zoals op het plaatje.

Didn’t like the fact that we had to be transferred via a private taxi to and from the hotel to meet the coach. Ther was 2 in my party but another 3 from my hotel. The return taxi was a squeeze on the return. A coach with toilet facilities would be a better option for this trip

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We had ample time for a wander at the top to take some photos in the late afternoon sun before gathering for our sunset picnic. Once dark, we took a short drive down the mountain where the guides assembled two telescopes and we all got to view several planets and the rising moon with commentary in three languages by our very knowledgable guides. It was the highlight of our trip to La Palma. Highly recommended.

Auf der Hinfahrt wurde allgemein über die Insel erzählt, das hörte sich wie aus einem Prospekt vorgelesen an. Die Sternenbetrachtung war dann sehr schön, da war die Führerin richtig in ihrem Element. Unbedingt warm anziehen, es ist echt kalt da oben. Die Reiseleitung hatte auch Decken dabei.

Sehr gute Reiseleitung die in drei Sprachen sehr interessant und spannend erzählt hat. Für die Nacht sollte man allerdings Pullover, Jacke und Schal mitnehmen darauf wurden wir nicht explizit hingewiesen Auch wäre eine Möglichkeit zur Toilette zu gehen gut. Nach der letzten Toilette war es mehrere Stunden nicht möglich. Vielleicht ein Bus mit WC.

Sehr guter Busfahrer-aber das es keine Sicherheitsgurte im Bus gab-gibt einen deutlichen Punktabzug. Zudem könnte man bei einer so langen Fahrt-für mich waren es 10 Stunden-einen Bus mit WC anbieten.Wäre eine gute Sache. Der Aufenthalt auf dem Roque war gut -auch zeitlich angemessen.Die Sternenbetrachtung fand ich etwas zu lang-angesichts der Temperaturen. Sehr nette Tour-Guides

The journey was very long, but we had anticipated that and although the bus was equipped with a wc we could not use that. Most of the commentary was in German...but then so were most of the guests. Weather was perfect at first but then when it was time to set up the telescopes the cloud came down and viewings had to be abandoned. The TUI rep, Jay, who arranged the experience for us was brilliant.

The whole experience was fantastic. The trip to the top of Roque de los Muchachos is amazing in itself, but with the opportunity to watch the sunset, then the total highlight of stargazing with the super knowledgeable guides, is something that will stay with us forever. Die Tour war sehr schön und atemberaubend. Das Einplanen eines Zwischenhaltes am Centro de Visitantes del Roque de los Muchachos für einen Toilettengang wäre gut. Ansonsten ist Tour sehr zu empfehlen.

Die Guides haben das sehr gut gemacht und ihr umfangreiches Wissen an uns weitergegeben. Es war sehr interessant. Wir haben 2 Plätze vorne im Bus reservieren lassen, weil es mir schnell schlecht wird im hinteren Teil einer Bustour. Die Plätze waren aber nur für Notfälle gerechnet. So wären wir gar nicht mitgegangen, hätten wir dort nicht trotzdem 2 Plätze erhalten. Anscheinend hat die Kommunikation nicht geklappt!

Gids verdeelde de tijd om te vertalen in veel te lang durende tijdvakken, waardoor de aandacht van de anderstaligen wegging en men dan onder elkaar begon te spreken wat dan weer moeilijk was voor zij die wouden luisteren. Locatie om recht te staan om de sterren observatie te doen was echt veel te oneffen waardoor het echt moeilijk werd om te stappen (het was dan ook nog donker natuurlijk) Fantastisch met de telescopen en de professionele uitleg. Once you have arrived at the top of Muchachos, the sunset view&experience of watching and learning about the stars from the incredibly knowledgeable trip leaders is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Truly breathtaking. However, first you must survive the death defying trip up there. It is very important to realise that you will likely be on the bus for 3 hours, travelling up narrow, winding roads (and 3 hours back!). All 3 of our kids were sick multiple times. Also take VERY warm clothes!

Stefanie our guide was great! Really knowledgeable and treated us all to a glass of wine while watching the sunset. That was a nice touch. Highly recommend this however if you’re planning on going on this trip be prepared, have warm clothes it is really cold in the evening.

Our guides were very knowledgeable and it was a great experience. However it really should have been made clearer that there is a lot of time on the coach through very tight corners and it is not the best idea for someone who gets travel sick! You do spend more time on the coach than you do looking at the stars or the sunset but what we did see was beautiful and is definitely once in a lifetime,

Knowledgeable guide and considerate. However NO TOILET FASCILITIES - not acceptable.There are coaches with toilets on them - why didn't we have one? To be expected to hold on for 8 hours is not reasonable. This can make the whole experience uncomfortable plus can cause urinary tract infections. To expect elderly or infirm women to squat in bushes is NOT acceptable.

So the drive up and down is no good for anyone with travel sickness and is very scary in parts. You need to really tell people how cold it is up the mountain it ruined our experience being do cold plus the wind was mega strong

Pickup well organised. Guide very good. Enjoyed watching the sunset above cloud level. Stargazing was amazing. Driver excellent on the roads at night, needs care and nobody ill despite the bendy roads etc.

The Guide spoke mainly in Spanish and we were disappointed that more time was not given over to English speaking people of whom there were several. We have since been on the round the. Island tour which also included the Roque highest point on La Palma. The Guide here gave much more information and I would recommend that tour more. Being someone who is interested in Astronomy I was very much looking forward to seeing the night sky in a designated dark sky area. The sky was great but not the Guid

Ein Besuch im Observatorium wäre sehr gut gewesen. Gruppe war zu groß für den Teleskopbeobachtungsteil. Statt zwei Teleskope wären 10 Ferngläser für den Sternenhimmeleindruck m.E. sinnvoller. Es war am Ende zu langatmig. Haltestelle nicht ideal.

Our guide Stephanie was friendly, attentive and very informative. The coach driver offered me & my partner a blanket for the stargazing, which was a nice touch... probably the best holiday excursion I've ever had the pleasure to experience!!!

Loved the trip overall, clear communication from the guides before hand but we were not told before the trip that there would be no toilets from pick up at approximately 4pm until drop off at 10:30 pm. Could they have used a bus with a toilet on it?

Wir waren restlos begeistert und beeindruckt von der Tour. Die Fahrt selbst war schon ein Natur-Erlebmis. Man muss allerdings Serpentinen - fest sein. Die kurze Enttäuschung am Gipfel wegen der Wolken und dem kalten Wind wurde schnell aufgehoben. Die Wolken verschwanden schnell und es wurde uns ein grandioser Sonnenuntergang beschert. Ein Gläschen Wein rundete das Erlebnis ab. Starke Sternensicht begeisterte alle zum späteren Zeitpunkt
