See Heidelberg from above and at street level on this tour that combines panoramic views, monuments, and a guided walk through the city.The day begins with a van ride to the Königstuhl, Heidelberg's highest viewpoint at 568 metres above sea level. From here, you'll take in sweeping views across the Neckar Valley before continuing your journey by mountain railway.The Heidelberg Mountain Railway is an attraction in its own right. First, you'll travel on the historic upper funicular to Molkenkur, then switch to the modern lower funicular for a short ride to Heidelberg Castle. Inside, you'll visit the cellar that houses the Great Barrel, a giant wine cask built in the 18th century from 130 oak logs and capable of holding more than 219,000 litres of wine. You'll also have time to explore the German Pharmacy Museum.The experience continues with a guided walk through Heidelberg's Baroque Old Town. As you stroll along its cobbled streets, you'll discover the character of this historic university city. Along the way, you'll pass elegant townhouses, traditional cafés and some of Heidelberg's best-known landmarks, including the Church of the Holy Spirit, the Old Bridge and the Jesuit Church.To round off the day, you'll cross to the opposite bank of the Neckar River and follow the Philosophenweg. With a glass of Palatinate wine in hand, you can take in the views across Heidelberg and enjoy a different perspective of the city before the tour concludes.
