What to expect
It's easy to see why the Venetians called Zante the ‘Flower of the East'. This tour takes in some of the island's prettiest villages and the remote Anafonitria monastery, too. And there are local speciality tastings, plus a boat trip to the Blue Caves. Konstantina, one of our local guides, says, ‘This tour has it all – a monastery, the Blue Caves, olive oil and wine. But my favourite part is when guests ask me for more info so that I can share the secrets of Zante with them.'You'll kick off by getting a flavour of the Zante countryside with a visit to a family-owned organic olive oil mill and museum. Learn about the pressing process and sample some of their liquid gold. The next taste is a traditional sweet treat in Kampi, a hamlet nestled in olive groves. Then it's on to the 14th-century Anafonitria Monastery, famed for its frescoes. With its rustic stone exterior and rural setting, it's a real blast from the past.In the afternoon, there's a stop for local speciality tastings – wine, honey and more – in a village shop en route to Cape Skinari, the island's northernmost point. Here, you'll hop on a boat to the Blue Caves, one of the deepest points in the Med. Carved into white cliffs, its sea-smoothed walls reflect the azure waters like a mirror. There's also a swim stop at Agios Nicolaos where you can cool off near the caves before you head back to your hotel. What is the itinerary for this experience? The itinerary for this experience is...- 8:30am to 9:00am – pick-up from your hotel - 9:30am to 10:00am – visit to an olive oil factory in Lithakia with tasting session - 10:45am to 11:15am – visit to the village of Kampi - 11:45am to 12:00pm – visit the Monastery of Anafonitria - 12:15pm to 1:15pm – free time for lunch - 1:45pm to 2:00pm – short stop at a village to try some local Greek treats- 2:15pm – arrive at Skinari for a boat trip to the Blue Caves- 3:15pm – swim stop after the boat trip (only on hot days)- 4:00pm – leave Skinari- 4:45pm to 5:30pm – arrive back at your accommodation Please note, the times may vary on the day

We hebben vooropgesteld een leuke dag gehad. Maar wij vonden het heel veel stops bij allerlei zaakjes; olijfolie fabriek (jammer dat de prijzen van de olijfolie daar hoger zijn als in de toeristenwinkeltjes op de rest van het eiland), honing en wijn proeven, klooster bezoeken, terwijl het bezoek aan de blue caves met zwemstop maar heel kort was. Dat had naar ons idee best wat langer kunnen zijn en een van de bezoekjes skippen.

The tour guide was really knowledgeable and friendly and told us lots of bits of information as we were travelling. The stops were interesting and gave us a chance to see beautiful views and see some parts of the island we otherwise wouldn't have. The food at the taverna was lovely and good prices The guy at the road side stall that sells the special ouzo was definitely an interesting character and a very fun stop. Overall a great day! Boat was the highlight for me though!

I did check reviews of all the excursions and this one was perfect for us. The guide who we had was kind, patient and informative. She kept us up to date with everything we are going to do and shared so much knowledge. We went to some beautiful places and was the perfect family day out. It had a bit of everything from seeing villages, old buildings, amazing views, food tasting, olive factory and lastly the fun boat ride. Also aircon was working so all a win, thank you

The olive oil factory was brilliant but busy. A logical queue system or more tasting areas would be helpful. The staff there were very friendly. Dimitries wine tasting was not really organised. Just a free for all, which was fine for our group but no explanation was disappointing The blue caves and swim was brilliant! The highlight of the day!! Sylvia was brilliant. She gave so much information and keep the vibe alive. Her recommendations were so helpful.

De reisleidster en chauffeur waren gezellig en hadden n goed verhaal. De liefde voor dit eiland kon je duidelijk ‘proeven’ in haar verhaal. de wijn proeverij viel enigszins tegen, geen tekst/uitleg en het was er bovendien erg chaotisch en druk. Ondanks dit kleine minpuntje hebben wij n gezellige dag gehad en het eiland in vogelvlucht gezien!

The Olive factory was excellent as was the lunch stop location and the blue cave boat trip. The monastery was interesting but if we hadn’t stoped there it would not have made a difference to our enjoyment. The ‘local tasting’ was not as expected. I appreciate local businesses need to be supported but calling this a tasting experience was not accurate. It was purely designed to try and sell pottery and consumables. Blue cave experience was fantastic. Overall good trip, thank you.

Great selection of activities and quirky, off-the-beaten-path discoveries, finishing with a fabulous boat trip on a small intimate boat to the beautiful blue caves. Kay was an absolutely fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and talked just the right amount!

Most of the trip was interesting & the guide was very informative but one of the stops was to wine & honey tasting which was nothing more than a glorified souvenir shop in a back street felt this was misleading and very disappointing.

The trip is a bit misleading. The picture shows Bochali Viewpoint, which when first booked was included but was not. A 2 hour transfer to then move to a different coach is a bit too much. There’s no need for a 45 minute coffee break 25 is plenty. The best bits were the scenery around as i felt way too long on a coach. Lunch was ok but your taken to a taverna they choose so cant choose your own. Not many places to buy water either. Not suitable for children. The blue caves was fab

Of all the tours we have ever been on whilst on holiday, this was by far the best we have been on due to Sylvia as she was an absolutely brilliant tour guide, so knowledgable. We are a family of four, an 11 year old and 10 year old, who absolutely loved it and talked about what they had learnt. The only thing we didn’t enjoy so much was the choice of restaurant for lunch which was clearly bought in processed food (well ours was) rather than made on site

Bootstour mit Andrea war super! Sehr nett, witzig, zuvorkommend! Reiseleitung Kay hat viele Informationen gegeben und sich leider ausschließlich nur mit Engländern beschäftigt. Schade! Olivenfabrik war sehr interessant! Aussichtspunkt toll, aber völlig überhöhte Getränkepreise: 5 Euro für einen Kaffee, eher Nep! Aufenthalt bei Kirche und Mittagspause zu lang.

The tour was fantastic. The best we have been on. Our guide Sylvia was so lovely and very knowledgeable. She made the whole trip fun as well. The boat trip to the caves was the highlight due to our captain George. He was so lovely and also knowledgeable about the caves. He let a few people have a go at steering the boat and made the whole trip such fun. You could really tell He loves his job and he made that trip. Highly recommend this tour and very good value.

The main reason for a lower mark for "Service" is the pick up point. We paid TUI to take us on a full day tour..... TUI expected us to walk a good quarter mile to be picked up at a local supermarket, and then dropped us off at the same supermarket at the end of the day. The "traditional village shop" stop after lunch is just a trip to a souvenir shop..... I really didn't need to pay you to do that for me!

De tour was erg leuk en leerzaam. Het enige mindere vond ik dat sommige gasten die mee waren meerdere keren het zelfde lepeltje gebruikte bij het proeven van bijvoorbeeld de verschillende soorten honing, aangezien ik een klein beetje smetvrees daarin heb kon ik helaas niet zelf proeven daarvan.

Die Reiseleiterin Bianca führte auf wunderbare Art auf deutsch und holländisch über die Insel. Der Stop beim Olivenöl-Hersteller war auf englisch, ebenso die Bootstour.Aber das war nicht so schlimm.Ein bisschen versteht man immer.

Het was een dag vol leuke bezoekjes! Bij het middageten werden we zeer gastvrij onthaald; zo heb ik dat nog niet vaak gezien. En het eten was heerlijk; en eigenlijk veel te veel, maar wel lekker. Ook een bezoekje aan een Griek die zelf een eigen winkel had met van alles en nog wat, was heel gezellig en leuk. Ook het bezoek aan de olijfoliefabriek (annex museum) was perfect inclusief proeverij. Tot slot het boottochtje met een maffe Griek die iedereen op een leuke manier vermaakte! Topdag!

Excellent trip, safe, competent driver and Sylvia was an excellent guide. Lovely stops and not rushed. Only gripe was that although we were told we would be split up on small boats to access the Blue Caves we were all directed by boat owner onto one large boat. Think small boats would have enhanced the experience and we rushed back to St. Nicholas afterwards. Only minus on this superb trip.

Hotel KATA-STROFA-DES nie powinien być w ofercie tak poważnej firmy jak TUI. Stan techniczny tego "zabytku" to jakieś nieporozumienie. Brud i pleśń w łazienkach, niedziałająca klimatyzacja, brak drzwi przeciwsłonecznych i kotar w drzwiach balkonowych bardzo "umilały" pobyt na Zakyntos. Z uwagi na powyższe problemy byliśmy zakwaterowani w TRZECH !!!! pokojach, wszystkie z problemami. Obsługa techniczna i recepcja działała ślamazarnie, nawet do 2 dni. Coś co było restauracją przypominało jadalnię.

Visit to olive oil factory was interesting and informative. The boat trip was disorganised, haphazard and disappointing as the caves did meet expectations and nothing of interest to view. There were various boats jockeying for position and on occasions very near to colliding. Additionally there was no cover on the boats so passengers were exposed to a very hot sun with no shelter available for protection. All visits very welcoming but hasty in order to meet the schedule. The lunch stop was good.

Olive oil factory fabulous taverna with cake very good driver brilliant, service at lunch stop were very efficient, but only two ladies toilets is such a big place was not acceptable wiould be illegal in Uabd meant we were late leaving. Boat trip was great fun we had a lady captain and she was exceptional letting everyone having a go steering . Overall a really enjoyable day

Alles was heel relaxed (we blijven hier ongeveer 30 minuten, just return to the bus when you are ready). De meer commerciele stops bij olijf fabriek & 'local product tasting' waren relatief kort, erg informatief en gezellig. De Engelstalige gids wist tijdens de rit met de nodige humor erg veel feitjes over het eiland te vertellen. Absolute hoogtepunten waren Exo Chora (prachtig hoog uitzichtspunt over azuurblauwe baai) en de blauwe grotten (op kleine boot met frisse duik in het water) AANRADER!!

Het was een volle, mooie dag. Veel gezien van het eiland. De boottocht naar de blauwe grotten was het leukst. Top georganiseerd. Ook het ophalen bij de locaties ging snel. Met meerdere busje kwamen we bijeen op één locatie en gingen toen verder met één touringcarbus. De gids, Bianca, was goed, gaf veel informatie.

The tour had many interesting components, especially the monastery and boat trip It was spoilt for us because of the change of coach from a safe coach with good legroom to an overcrowded coach with minimal uncomfortable legroom making us feel unsafe. We registered a form of complaint yesterday which you will be able to follow up and have spoken to the Rep at our hotel today to try to see reassurance that we will not be met by a repeat when we go on a longer to a tour on Sunday.- given.

Wonderful day, looked after very well by Sylvia, the expert driving of I think Fran, wome very narrow roads. The blue caves was excellent way to end the day, the "captain" made sure all guests had a great time and made brilliant memories. The swimming was top class also but the views stunning. Thanks again

Bis auf die teilweise fehlende deutsche Übersetzung, was eventuell daran lag, dass mehr Holländer teilgenommen haben. War der Ausflug schön. Die Wein + Süßigkeiten Verkostung hätten wir nicht gebraucht. Sonst alles top.

Guide very knowledgeable about the island and informative. Places visit a very good mix of scenic and historic. Captain George on the boat trip really made the cave experience fantastic, so much fun

I loved the day and experience, was a great way to see various different parts of the island in one day. However I think the caves excursion could have taken place during the morning, as the sea is often calmer so higher chances of being able to do it and also means less snacking before lunch. After so many tastings of incredible food and drinks, by the time we got to lunch I wasn't really hungry so swapping the caves to the morning means lunch is better enjoyed as well.

Nadat onze boeking door onze hotel representative omgezet was naar een excursie met Nederlandse gids hebben we erg genoten van deze excursie. De Nederlandse Bianca is een heel vriendelijke dame die er al ruim 20 jaar woont, veel van het eiland weet en dit ook graag verteld. We hebben een aantal leuke bezienswaardigheden gezien waaronder een olijfoliefabriek, een mooi uitzichtpunt, een klooster en de oudste olijfboom op het eiland. De tocht werd afgesloten met een boottochtje naar de Blue Caves.

Een geweldige eilandtour zowel per bus als per boot. Je ziet deze dag heel erg veel. Wij hadden deze dag echt niet willen missen. Als je geen auto huurt, maar toch Zakynthos wilt zien, dan is dit zeker een aanrader!

Excellent value for money. A very interesting tour and even though it was a large group, TUI arranged for us to stop at small and interesting places, choosing good local-style tavernas for coffee and lunch and small boats for the boat trip.
