The glamorous side of Jewish life in Grunewald is - as so often in Berlin - contrasted by places of horror in the same place: Koenigsallee is where Reich Foreign Minister Rathenau was assassinated in 1920, and Platform 17 is where the first Jewish deportation train left for the Lodz ghetto in 1941.After a short round trip through the Wilmersdorf district of Grunewald, you will cycle along Kurfürstendamm to Lietzensee and stop for coffee at a lakeside café. On Berlin's more than 20 km long east-west axis, here called Bismarckstraße, you will reach the German Opera, Karl-August-Platz, via Pestalozzistrasse to the endpoint Bahnhof Zoo.
