What to expect
Jamaica's longest river, Black River, is a tropical wildlife haven. Spend time on its languid waters with this full day tour, taking in ancient mangrove swamps and prehistoric crocodiles and having a refreshing dip in the waterfall pools of the famous YS Falls.You'll take a scenic drive through densely forested mountains before climbing aboard your pontoon boat. Drift silently downriver, soaking up the sights and sounds of the jungle – all the while learning about the ecosystem's specific wildlife from your local guide.Glide past huge mangroves and beady-eyed crocodiles peeping from the water, which your guide will lure to the surface for some great photo ops by tossing food from the boat. Die Guides waren alle sehr gut gelaunt. Wir haben zwar andere Bilder im Kopf gehabt, aber es war sehr interessant und wichtig zu sehen, welche Verwüstungen der Hurikan verursacht hat. Einziger Abzug - die Bestuhlung im Kleinbus ist viel zu eng !!!

Overall a great tour, but unfortunately missing out on the Appleton Rum Estate visit due to previous hurricane damage, which resulted in a bit too much time spent at the YS Falls. Great tour guide though, and it was good to see more of the surrounding area.

Wir fanden die Tour grundsätzlich super, die Krokodile und die Wasserfälle waren toll. Der einzige kleine Nachteil ist das man sehr lange im Bus sitzt von Montego Bay aus bis man die Destinationen erreicht hat. Aber da kann man ja nicht viel dran ändern. Vielen Dank nochmal für das tolle Erlebnis!

I really enjoyed the boat trip and seeing the crocodiles in the mangrove, the YS falls were beautiful, the grounds were stunning. I was disappointed that the hot pool was closed but overall the trip was great even when the bus broke down. I was very impressed with the way that the team worked together to continue the trip. I would recommend the trip.

Het was een super leuke ervaring! Onze gids Kristof heeft tijdens de busreis naar de black river heel veel uitleg gegeven over de lokale bevolking. Wat we wel een beetje spijtig vonden was onze lunch bij de black river.. je kreeg maar 1 bord en mocht geen 2de keer meer bijhalen. Voor sommige mensen was dit te weinig. De trip op de black river was fantastisch! Ik raad deze excursie iedereen aan!

Mini bus a little cramped for a long journey, guide & driver excellent, full of fun & knowledge, been to ys falls before with tui, black river a great experience, Captain told us so much he showed us different species of birds, knew so much about the wetlands even got us to touch a crocodile. A fantastic trip totally loved it

The activity were both fun and engaging, I thought the scariest element would have been the crocodile experience however the transport was something else, the bus driver thought he was on trial for the Mercedes F1 team and most of the people were relieved for a bit of traffic to slow him down. Around 10 minutes from the hotel he hit a large pothole and burst his tyre thankfully stopping him. YS falls was something special with hummingbirds and beautiful scenery and some rope swings for fun!

The timings were well organised and felt we had a reasonable amount of time at each venue. Food menu in advance would’ve been useful for the kids. The ride was obviously a bit long and bumpy but driver did a good job and we had a great talk on the way there from the guide.

Our tour guide & driver were brilliant - We were taught about the history of the island and about the culture and people in Jamaica. It was great to see how passionate and proud they were to be Jamaican. Very friendly and fun. The whole trip was great - the guides at the location were brilliant too!

We loved every minute of this trip. The tour guide Yvonne on the coach journey was amazing and so were all the other tour guides we had on this day. We decided to book this instead of the Dunns river trip as we had two children with us and felt that a 3 hr plus journey to get there would be too much, and so glad we did seeing the crocodiles at the black river was something they will never forget would definitely recommend this trip.

Complimentary meal at black river - delicious! but they need. Some supper with full renovation. The building is old and falling apart at the seams. Not nice for the staff or customers. It clearly has not changed or had an upgrade since it was build sadly. Stick in 1960’s. ?? YS was beautiful, would have liked more time to admire the beauty of it abd it was in my bucket list. Didn’t get chance to zip line or sit in the pool/hot springs.,

Tour was heel leuk, ziet iets van het binnenland. Had het wel leuk gevonden ergens langs de weg een stop te hebben voor een lokaal drankje of een fotostop. Gids was enthousiast en wist veel te vertellen. Bezoekje aan de ys had langer mogen duren bezoekje van 45 min is relatief kort. De medewerkers aldaar vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

A little longer on the boat cruise safari would have been good. The captain was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and entertaining I think he could have spent longer showing us more of what the river had, and more time watching the crocodiles. But overall it was a great excursion. Jamaican roads are not too great for someone nursing a bad back though… we had 2 hours journey each way. The driver did his best though

Es war eine tolle Tour, aber leider zu wenig Zeit bei den YS Wasserfällen. Man hatte kurz Zeit sich umzusehen und zu planschen. Dann mussten wir uns schnell umziehen, wieder ins Shuttle und weiter. Aber alles in einem eine tolle Tour, auch für Kids (unsere sind 2 & 4).

The distance to the trip should have been made clearer we spent most of the day travelling. I did enjoy the black River but the weather cut the trip short we only got 30 minutes on the cruise so value for money was poor. After going the blue hole and dunns river I felt ys falls was a disappointed.. not worth the time or money x

Absolutely fantastic day. The guide was knowledge, friendly and funny. She provided a fun day out. When we arrived at YS Falls, I was hesitate as I can't really swim, but the guide was really helpful and helped us along the way, making us feel at ease. The ride along Black River was also great. The captain gave us so much interesting facts and made it enjoyable. The food was great, especially the fried chicken. Would go again.

Wir fanden den Ausflug sehr schön. Leider finde ich es eine Unverschämtheit bei einem ganz Tages Ausflug keine Getränke zu erhalten, lediglich ein Wasser beim Mittagessen war inbegriffen. Die Reiseleitung hatte unserer Meinung nach bei den Sehenswürdigkeiten etwas mehr auf die Besonderheiten hinweisen können. Z.B. bei den Krokodilen wurde nicht auf die Krankenstation hingewiesen und diese auch nicht besichtigt.

Our guide was excellent, very knowledgeable and informative. The YS falls were beautiful and both fun and relaxing. The black river tour was also excellent. Our guide on the boat was brilliant: fun and knowledgeable. The lunch at black river was really tasty and there was a good variety.

This trip is worth it for YS FALLS shame you only get 2 hours here. Advise use a guide and tip at the end we had amazing videos and pictures also he helped us across the falls safely. Stunning place I will revisit by taxi to spend the day. Shop was good price even had water shoes for $10.a bottle coke and bottle coconut water for $3.50.Black river was beautiful saw one croc in the bush and one came swimming round the boat ask about nursery to see and hold babies we wasnt told found out after

Our guide for the full tour was Kareen, she was fantastic and very helpful to make sure my partners coeliac disease was catered for by the staff at the Black River, she also stood out with her knowledge and explanations of Jamaican culture and history. The guide at Black River was also very informative and really got up close to the crocs. Ys Falls was great, the water was very refreshing and the guides took lots of photos for us. I’d suggest getting a locker and wearing swimwear on arrival.

Guide not very helpful, driver very dangerous and constantly over taking oncoming traffic in heavy rain. The attraction itself was a big let down. Managed to see one crocodile and one large bird. For what we paid I wasn’t very impressed

The transfer bus was the worst I've been on noisy rattle and very uncomfortable, if you're expecting customers to travel 41/2 hrs on a bus in 1 day it should at least be comfortable and feel safe which we didn't, the food was very poor for what we paid for the excursion and I would not be recommending anyone to go on this trip, Just not what's expected from Tui, we are very disappointed and had an awful day.

Wir wurden pünktlich abgeholt, alles war gut organisiert. Viele Infos während der Busfahrt durch die Reiseleitung. Die Bootsfahrt war sehr schön, tolle Landschaft, wir haben Krokodile und auch andere Tiere gesehen. Die YS Falls haben uns sehr begeistert. Der Nationalpark ist schön angelegt. Es ist dort nicht überlaufen wie an anderen Orten. Der Ausflug ist zu empfehlen, das Preis Leistungsverhältnis stimmt.

Ys falls was beautiful, guide very supportive! enabling mum who can't swim and doesn't like water to walk in falls. Good value if you like swimming in pools and there is also a zip wire for a fee, gift shop had no prices displayed! The lunch provided was very tasty although one staff had a face and looked like she didn't want the group there. Black river was a con as only saw one crocodile and meant to be 300! It was a boat ride to learn about different plants, no life jackets given out.

De excursie op zich was leuk, de watervallen leuk om te zien en om beetje in te zwemmen. Fysiek zijn wij niet heel mobiel dus dan pas je je een beetje aan. De reisleiding deed het op de heenweg wel leuk. De bus was erg vol en het rijden over de wegen was erg pijnlijk omdat je achter de wielen moest zitten. Je mocht ook niet wisselen van plek. Op de terugweg lag de reisleidster wat te slapen en vertelde niets meer. De weg naar ons hotel was afgesloten, dus hebben ze ons gedumpt, klacht ingedien

The experience its self was really good. We felt the mini bus was too cramp, it didn't cater for the size of people for a long trip. The tour guide we had could have been a bit more informative along the way and tell us more of the areas we were passing through.

At the falls felt we were left(abandoned) when we got there. We walked with guides half way up & then was told to carry on up steps but for what reason no idea.. no one there to guide us further. No way to find out how or where to use the rope ... Zip lines... Again no one around to explain if this was an option. We only got to use the pool which was cold so didn't spend much time in it. Food was good but hit & miss what was put on your plate even if you asked for a bit of everything

We kregen onderweg in de bus de vraag of we Pelican Bar wilden doen i.p.v. YS Falls vanwege regenval. Deze excursie is goedkoper en veel minder interessant, maar omdat we al onderweg waren hebben we maar ingestemd. De touroperater wil niet een deel van ons geld teruggeven. We hebben een goedkopere tour gekregen en minder gekregen en zijn dus gewoon bestolen. Ook reed de buschauffeur zo onrustig dat bijna iedereen kostmisselijk was. Mijn dochter heeft zelfs echt in de bus gekotst.

Die Tour fand wie gebucht mit einem deutschsprachigen Guide statt. Wir wurden pünktlich am Hotel abgeholt. Insgesamt dauerte der Ausflug von Negril nicht länger als die angegebenen acht Stunden. Der Busfahrer fuhr wirklich sehr ordentlich. Für die Straßen kann er ja nichts:) Sowohl die YS-Wasserfälle mit anschließender Möglichkeit zum ausgiebigen Baden als auch die Black River Bootstour sind absolut empfehlenswert. Wir haben auch mehrere Krokodile aus der Nähe sehen können. Das Essen war super.

Die YS Wasserfälle fielen wegen Regenfälle aus. Das war bereits der zweite Anlauf. Morgens am Bus erfahren, dass es dafür zur Pelikanbar geht. Black River war gut. 4 Krokodilen begegnet. Boot war voll. Konnte deshalb nur auf meiner Seite Krokodile sehen. Mittag war mittelmäßig. Keine Getränke unterwegs. Selbstversorgung. Pelikanbar nicht teilgenommen (wegen Seekrankheit.) Am dreckigen, heißen Naturstrand ohne Getränke o anderen Service 1 Std. gewartet. Busfahrt eine Zumutung. Abzocke. Guide gut.

Changed ys falls cancelled should of been given option to rebook or money back neither was offered by tour guild. River trip nice but too short food poor lunch. Taken to Pelican bar nither of us wanted to go and an unsuitible alternative and we never would have booked to go there . Very expensive TUI tour to see 3 crocodiles on a very short trip .

Die YS Wasserfälle waren das Highlight, sehr schöne Anlage und viele Möglichkeiten zum schwimmen, hier hätte die Aufenthaltsdauer ruhig etwas länger sein können; da wir relativ früh bei den Wasserfällen waren konnten wir sie auch ohne große Massen genießen. Die Fahrt von Negril ist ca 2 std mit Kind doch etwas lange aber dafür sieht man etwas vom Land, hier hätte ich mir noch einen kleinen Stoff in einen der schönen kleinen Dörfer am Meer gewünscht, Preis für Kinder finde ich recht hoch.

YS Falls was amazing, the Guides at the Falls are excellent and well deserving of a decent tip. Black River Safari was equally amazing and seeing the Crocodiles come right up to the boat was a fantastic experience and we learned a lot from the Guide about the local Wildlife. Watch out for the Ice Cream Shop though as 31 USD for 2 x ice creams & 2 x waters was scarier than the Croc’s !

Es ging 8.30 Uhr pünktlich los. Die nette Reiseführerin konnte perfekt deutsch. Nach 2 Stunden Busfahrt sind wir an den Wasserfällen angekommen. Dort konnte man baden und die Angestellten haben mit meinem Handy tolle Fotos von uns gemacht. Danach ging es weiter zum Black River. Dort angekommen gab es regionales Mittagessen und Getränke. Dann ging es zum Schiff. Das 1. Krokodil kam uns schon entgegen. Der Kapitän hatte Fleisch mit. Nach der Bootsfahrt ging es wieder mit dem Bus, 2 Stunden, zum Ho

The waterfall was excellent especially as we were there early in the morning so it was not crowded and we had the benefit of a guide. The Black river was ok but nothing startling. The guide on the journeys was excellent giving various information which helped with the journey and not so great roads

Black river was excellent. Guide very informative giving us good history and information. YS Falls wa a little of a let down as not what was expected but that’s more on me than the tour. Bus transportation is too long, the option of sailing would be good to make travel to and from quicker. Would have gone on more excursions eg Kingston &blue mountains but the travel time by bus put us off.

Sehr schöne Tour. Die YS Wasserfälle sind echt gut und die gesamte Anlage sehr gepflegt. Verpflegung auf dem Trip war auch sehr sparsam. Was die Verpflegung auf den Ausflügen betrifft sollte bei diesen Preisen doch mehr geboten werden.

Fijne excursie naar Black River en de YS watervallen. Mooie tijdsduur, niet te lang en niet te kort. Krokodillen gezien en goede gids. Op tijd opgehaald en weer teruggebracht. Het verkeer is wel een ervaring.

Prachtige natuur gezien, totaal andere omgeving als waar wij verbleven, leuk om zo een ander stuk Jamaica te zien. Goed georganiseerd in tegenstelling tot de vorige excursie, enige minpunt was dat ze wéér veel te laat kwamen ophalen én veel te vroeg terug brachten waardoor je toch bijna 1,5 uur minder had aan je excursie en dus veel langer heerlijk bij de falls had kunnen blijven.... En de chauffeur reed wel heel erg hard...

Enjoyable day. Driver of boat on Black river was very happy and very knowledgeable but he was let down by a second translator on the boat who was speaking over him in another language. This was very frustrating hence we couldn't hear a lot to learn. Falls were beautiful

The falls were beautiful and well worth a visit however, the black river trip was hampered by a heavy downpour so only saw the two crocs near the jetty but still enjoyable

We were in a group of elderly people (average 69 years old) and the guide we had was absolutely brilliant, he was attentive, courteous, respectful of our needs to take our time and only being 23 years old. Because we didn’t get his name, I have already forwarded a photograph along with very similar comments to YS Falls via email

Bussen var gammel og slidt og sikkerhedsselerne kunne ikke bruges, de var defekte. Guiden var meget svær at forstå, vi bad hende om at tale langsomt og tydeligt, men det virkede ikke. På vej tilbage skulle hun og 2 gæster bruge ca 10 minutter på at købe frugt i en bod. Vi var tilbage på hotellet med 1 times forsinkelse.

Im Großen und Ganzen war das ein wunderschöner und toller Ausflug mit einzigartigen Erlebnissen und Einblicke in die freie Natur… Die Busfahrt auf den holprigen Straßen war schon sehr „abenteuerlich“ ?????… Aber ein Stoßgebet in den Himmel hat es wieder gerichtet ??… Leider konnten wir aber unseren 10% Ermäßigungsgutschein nicht einlösen… Da hat uns der RL vor Ort auch nicht weiterhelfen können…. Immerhin wären das in unserem Fall über 60.- Euro… Freundliche Grüße Fam. Semlitsch
