What to expect

Sicily is just 90 minutes away from Malta by high speed catamaran – and a day trip to the Italian island is an experience like no other. You'll get to discover Mount Etna – Europe's highest volcano – and the quintessential Sicilian town of Taormina sitting pretty above the bay below.First up you'll have the chance to explore the slopes of Mt Etna, the continent's most active volcano. The climb up to the crater takes you through picturesque villages and an ever-changing landscape. The lower slopes are extremely rich and fertile with groves of oranges, lemons, almonds and peaches. Further up you'll see historic lava flows and even snow in the colder months.Historic Taormina is located atop sloping sea cliffs. Undoubtedly this is one of Sicily's most beautiful towns, with an ancient Greek theatre overlooking the coast below and medieval and Renaissance palaces. The view from Piazza IX Aprile takes in the beaches up and down the shore. Stop here for a coffee and watch daily life unfold.

Excellent

The day was fantastic and well worth the money, however it would be useful to let people know that the cable car to get towards the top of Mt Etna is €50 - a few people were really disappointed that they couldn't afford it. Also, there was no coach to collect people from the ferry port back in Malta leaving people to have to make their own way back to their hotels at midnight, a lot of people were very unhappy. The rest was excellent!

Tour guide was very knowledgeable and was available at all times to answer questions and the driver was exceptional with his driving. A very long day though. However, we enjoyed every part but would have preferred the visit to the village first, followed by Mount Etna, purely as we were worn out but the time we got to the village. An absolute stunning place, with lots to see and do. Had no issues with the pick up, the ferry transfer leaving and retuning, all very straight forward.

Een klein proeflokaal bezoeken waar 2 bussen toeristen tegelijk aanwezig zijn hoeft voor mij niet. Het lokaal is te vol en je hebt niet echt de mogelijkheid om de producten rustig te proeven en/of te kopen. Je moet er rekening mee houden dat het een lange dag is en veel zit (oversteek met de boot en de busrit)

Didn’t like the fact that you had to walk in the dark to a bus stop (10 mins) away to wait for an unknown bus (not marked) nearly got on 2 others before ours arrived 25mins late. Crazy driver. Sicily all good. Return driver nearly left us (other passengers) made him let us on. Again dropped in the dark away from hotel. There was a lone female traveler who had to walk to her hotel in the dark. Should review collection/drop off company you use. Not good

Great

Enjoyed everything in Sicily nothing really to fault. Coach had an accident on the journey but driver not at fault and although we lost approx 1 hr the Guide did try to make some of that time up. Malta side transfers left a lot to desire and we're unorganised. 1. Coach was 20 mins late at the hotel. 2. No organisation on return. Coach parked with other coaches in different place to drop off with no identification. People wandering around, 45 mins wait. A simple sign in windscreen would help.

Tour erg leuk, eerste stadje waar je stopt meer touristen stad. Dat merk je gelijk. Heenweg met de buschauffeur op Sicilië was geweldig en veilig, de smalste wegen kon hij prima trotseren. Zelfs een moment gehad dat een andere bus nog geen 10cm naast ons zat. Verder de Etna op geweldig. Je hebt prachtig uitzicht over de kust en kan zelfs een van de kraters op. Neem wel goede wandelschoenen mee hiervoor.
