What to expect

With dramatic landscapes, culture and nature wrapped into one, this full day tour of Madeira has it all. There's the Cabo Girão Skywalk for starters, Eira do Serrado viewpoint and finally Monte, where a hair-raising 3km toboggan ride to Livramento is on the cards.First up, are Madeira's most stunning panoramas. The Skywalk at Cabo Girão, the highest sea cliff in Europe, certainly delivers with a glass viewing platform that looks down a whopping 580m. Afterwards, you'll journey inland to the Pico dos Barcelos viewpoint overlooking Funchal, and further up to Eira do Serrado.From here you'll be afforded a sweeping view of Nun's Valley and the peaks surrounding it. The last portion of the tour sees you in Monte to visit an estate of a wealthy family and the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora. Now comes the experience to write home about - a wicker toboggan ride down from Monte to Livramento. But don't worry, guides control the speed with ropes for you.

Die Tour war sehr sehr schön. Die verschiedenen Aussichtspunkte waren traumhaft. Leider konnten wir keinen Korbschlitten fahren, da die Schlange sehr lang war. Aber unser Guide hat daraufhin eine kleine Abkürzung mit uns genommen und so sind wir im Auto dann steile Abgänge runter. War wirklich sehr lustig. Unser Guide hat sich wirklich sehr viel Mühe gegeben deutsch zu sprechen und uns viel erzählt und gezeigt. Ich kann diese Tour auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Top!

The trip surpassed all our expectations and was a real highlight of the holiday. Two adults and three kids (18, 13, 11) all enjoyed it. From the first part, the toboggan ride in Monte, to the tour of the Nuns’ Valley and visits to viewing points and beautiful villages, it was a great day out.
