What to expect
This ticket provides access to the Musei Reali (Royal Museums) of the Royal Palace of Turin, the most significant and impressive of the Savoy dynasty's residences in Piedmont. As you enter, a grand staircase guides you from the atrium to the main floor. Here, you'll find state rooms adorned with carved ceilings, stucco, gildings and frescoes. Among these rooms, some of the most intriguing include the expansive Salone degli Svizzeri, the Throne Room, the Coffee Room, and Charles Emmanuel II's Alcove Room. The 19th-century Ballroom is one of the palace's most lavish spaces, leading to the Scissors Staircase by Filippo Juvarra, dating back to 1720. This staircase ascends to the second piano nobile, home to the bridal rooms of the Princes of Piedmont and the Dukes of Aosta. The palace basement houses impressive kitchens and vast cellars. An arcaded courtyard leads you to a garden encircled by 17th-century fortifications.Despite alterations over time, the garden layout still reveals elements of the original design by André Le Notre (1697-1698), Louis XIV's renowned garden architect, featuring water basins and avenues arranged in a radial pattern. Beyond its historical allure, the palace also hosts temporary exhibitions, guided tours, educational activities, events and conferences.
