This half-day excursion does exactly what it says on the tin – the chance to shop ‘til you drop. You'll be dropped off in the lively port town of Ocho Rios where you'll have a few hours to browse the boutiques, pick up a few souvenirs and find the local market that's packed with all kinds of goodies.When you're in need of some retail therapy while on holiday, this trip has you covered. You'll be picked up from hotel and dropped in the bustling centre of Ocho Rios, Jamaica's popular port town on the north coast. It was once a fishing village, so you'll soon come across colourful, typical boutiques crammed with handicrafts, as well as duty-free stores where you can pick up a bargain or two.Jeweller's windows dazzle with local trinkets and then there are modern arcades lined with plenty of shops. You'll have time to visit both Tajmahal and Landmark Plaza for all your shopping needs. Afterwards, you'll be taken back to the hotel.

It was cancelled but we weren’t told so we stood at the lobby for 30 mins waiting then I went to the tui desk to then be told it was cancelled the day before and we are sorry no one told you. We could’ve booked to do something else if we had known

Terrible trip offered by Tui. States it would be 2-4 hours and would see boutique shops and harbour area of Ocho Rio’s. Instead we were taken to an overpriced shopping mall where staff follow you round everywhere. 20 mins later and we were taken to the Taj Mahal shopping area, where we had one hour. Shops were full of the same overpriced holiday tatt. We were never taken to the harbour and don’t experience anything remotely authentic. Complained to Tui rep and asked for a refund. Avoid….

Actual shops were amazing to go in to, staff slightly pushy but nothing a stern no can’t solve if you don’t want anything. Staff very grateful if you do buy from them and will discount products. The outdoor market sellers are awfully pushing and touchy. “Free samples” being given then waiting at the tour bus for the money and won’t take the product back. Also cannot take no for an answer wouldn’t recommend walking in this area.

I did this trip twice this was the second time. We made an unscheduled stop at a gift shop on the way meaning we didn't get to ochos rios until 11.15 and were dropped off at the bottom of the main street outside another store the driver obviously had an arrangement with and given no directions and a bus departure time of 1pm meaning we had 1 hour 45 mins. Overall disappointing compared to the same trip on Friday.

We (my spouse, baby and I) started of at island village center then ended up shopping at a supermarket and from a few local vendors. While it’s good to have USD, get some JMD because the conversion rate might be high at some shops. Overall it was a great experience! Suggestions: We felt safe but two is better than one. If you’re not interested in an item, be nice and move on. The transport bus should have some sort of TUI sign or marker which will make it easier for guests to identify them.

The entire trip was a shambles, the moment we was picked and started driving we was told that it was a bank Holiday and most shops would be closed , hardly any communication from the driver/ guide . Stopped at one shopping area told that is where we would be picked up tjen drove on to another arra where it was just gift shops and most of them closed , felt harsed by shop owners . Then picked up.and then drop of at a supermarket. Not my idea of shopping. Complete waste of time and money

Waste of time and money. Taken to one overpriced shop which took less than a mintute to look around. Eight out of ten passengers all voiced their dissapointment. The driver agreed to take us to a other bigger precinct where we all just went for coffee to waste the hour wait for return yo hotel. For example a bag available at hotel for $25 was $ 40 in first shop.

It was ok trip, upside was we were left to explore ocho rios. Downside was confusion over pick up point, dropped off at Asian “duty free “ shop. Wasn’t what my understanding of what a duty free shop is. Very few coffee/ bars to visit. Burger king had no coffee or room to move. Don’t regret going though, just wouldn’t go again

Firstly 15 minutes hanging around for a couple who did not materialise was not a good start. Secondly we were expecting to be dropped in Ocho Rios and have two hours wandering around shopping, instead we wasted at least half an hour in a shop with staff following us around. Not what we expected. Driver was friendly.

We did not care for the shops that people from India/Pakistan owned. We really wanted to go see the native shops. We did and that was great. We felt that those people deserved our purchases. Thank you! We were hoping about going to the port snd see cruiseschip there snd see the shops there

A lovely hotel, very friendly staff and that includes the cleaners The hotel is very clean. The food is top notch in all restaurants and buffets . The TUI Rep was very rude with us - we were in the middle of booking a trip with her when some people just came over and said to her we have a meeting with you-so she told us that she couldn’t continue with our booking because there was 6 people waiting for her to give them a welcome meeting So we Never got to do the trip we wanted to do very rude

It was raining so our experience was ok considering. The craft market for us was better than the little shopping centre. Loved talking to the people trading. Some characters!! Little shopping centre was a bit lifeless.... Maybe because of the rain!

Our guide was wonderful, he was a really nice guy. We were dropped off at the shopping village,items in the shops most wasn't priced up,I bought some cream liqueur which was 18usd ,when I got back to hotel ,in the shop it was only 10usd so you have to just watch what you are paying. Shame it rained but a good trip out.

The lovely driver, Amy, was great from beginning to end. However, the first 'market' was a cruise ship tourist stop with no shade and in 40 heat not good. All very 'touristy' if you want a Jamaican flag, fridge magnet, t-shirt, etc, this is your destination. There is a Burger King at the 2nd stop which made my friends very happy!!

There are two stop offs. The first one is at a duty free shopping centre. You're there for 1hr 30 minutes and its an absolute waste of time. Everything is crazy overpriced, a packet of lays crisp was £14 to put it into perspective. Everyone on the bus looked around for 15 minutes and spent 1hr 15 min waiting for the bus. Do not waste your money in that shopping centre. The 2nd stop was a market and it was AMAZING! this is where the locals go to shop. it was a shame we only had 1hr. We loved it

Greta value for money to visit the Ochio Rios town. Emiko, our guide, was fantastic, felt very safe while she was driving and she provided lots of information on Ocho Rios and places on the way there too. Only downfall is the mall that they take you in the first stop. It's overpriced and clearly a tourist trap. Should cater the tour to more authentic shopping areas in Ocho Rios.

No free time to shop anywhere else besides the Taj Mahal shopping centre. Would have preferred to shop at other placess and visit Margaritaviille. Didn't like being taken to the Craft Market, where every stall sold the same products. Felt pressurised into making a purchase. The best part of the trip was the driver giving information about things on route.

Om een idee te krijgen van de Ocho Rios is het leuk om te doen, ligt er denk ik aan waar je gedropt wordt. Wij werden afgezet op lokatie waar Cruisereiziger naar toe kunnen (outlet idee) vond het niet zo bijzonder maar er is stuk verder in Ocho Rios een leuker shopping deel met leukere winkels. Toen wij naar Dunn’s Falls gingen werden daar andere gasten gedropt om te shoppen. Maar voor de prijs hoef je het niet te laten.

Deze uitstap was ideaal om kort het stadje te verkennen. Wel jammer dat we niets van uitleg (of kaart) kregen. We moesten eerst verplicht in een winkel binnen waar we allemaal dingen aangeboden kregen (rum, koffie, kleding) die we dan met zgn korting konden kopen. Wij gingen echter snel buiten om de rest te verkennen maar daarom was het handig geweest als we wisten waar we best konden naartoe stappen. Het marktje was beklijvend en claustrofobisch. Het haventje was wel gezellig en rustig.

Precies als wat er aangegeven word, brengt je keurig naar centrum van Ocho rios en blijft daar ook op iedereen wachten. We kregen 3 uur de tijd om te winkelen, echter waren wij er persoonlijk al snel klaar mee. Er was namelijk een klein marktje waar je allerlei souvenirs kon kopen, echter werd je geen seconde met rust gelaten en iedereen wilde dat je naar hun winkeltje kwam. We voelden ons op geen enkel moment onveilig, echter wel ongemakkelijk.

The trip was too short but a good experience, the guide was nice and made sure we were okay. Prepared to get pulled here and there but they were very polite and when you say no they did listen. The vendors just want to make that one sale whether it was 1 dollar or 20 and you can haggle with them. It’s there living so don’t be too cheap. We are going again as wanted a little more time.

Je wordt netjes naar Ocho Rios gereden alwaar je bij de winkels wordt afgezet waar de reisleiding op provisiebasis voor werkt. Voordeel is dat je netjes naar alles wordt toe gereden en dat alles voor je is georganiseerd. In de beschrijving staat dat je de stad ook gaat bekijken vanaf het uitkijkpunt Ocean Ridge. Hier wist de chauffeur niets van. Nadat wij hadden gevraagd of we nog ergens mooie foto's konden maken heeft hij ons naar verschillende plekken gebracht. Dat was erg goed van hem.

I assumed this would be a shopping trip. Not a bus ride to shops that sold the same things ie expensive 'cheap' t shirts and things I wouldn't consider souvenirs. Had I known this wasn't a shopping trip where we would be dropped off and collected 2-4 hours later, we would not have gone. Spent over 3 hours waiting on a bus including to and from travel. $25 (£20GBP) for a cheap t-shirt is not what I envisaged. The hassle you get from locals is off the scale, I have travelled to many countries, but this was definately at the top of the list for mithering market sellers and people stopping you as you are walking along. We had one gentlemen comment that we had come all the way from England to buy nothing!

The price was good for the trip, as taxi fares are so expensive. However we were in a mini bus, which there was too many of us for the van. I think 2 too many, but they just squashed us all in. Firstly taken to a duty free shop, encouraged to buy things here, but in Ochi, found a shop that was so much cheaper. My husband paid $25 for a bum bag, in the first shop to find they were $10 with 50% off so $5 in ochi. In that shop we got a free beer to. The shop was opposite the bar, just past KFC When we came to leave, we arrived at the meeting point, to be advised the mini bus had left 10 mins before. Luckily a local person knew the driver and rang him, and he came back. The driver was very friendly. Very knowledgeable, but is a taxi driver employed by TUI. No TUI staff come on the trip with you. 2 families with children on our trip asked to be returned Immediately we arrived in Ochi as they didn't feel safe.

The driver/guide was extremely good. The shopping locations however were a bit disappointing. We went to 3 different locations but the shops pretty much sold the same items, nothing was priced up and i felt they were plucking figures from the air i.e. inflated tourist prices. We did not venture into the craft Market as the driver said the sellers can be quite aggressive and persistent.

The trip ended up being the wife and I alone, we were driven to the tourist shops where we were ushered into a shop and told best prices etc, this was quite annoying and even though we were the only people in there 2 staff members followed us closely. We then left the shop by our selves with the guide no where to be seen, the moment we exited the tourist shopping area we were pestered to come look at this etc. We didn’t mind so much but feel the guide should have been on hand to help in this situation or advise what would happen in the markets etc. We were followed by a unsavoury guy who kept offering us drugs. He made us feel uncomfortable and again the guide was no where to be seen. We returned to the tourist area where we did feel safer.
