Once an important and prosperous city, Lindos is ancient Greece to a tee. Explore this history-steeped seaside village with an optional, interactive Acropolis tour, bringing treasures to life with the Lindos 3D app. ‘I'm particularly passionate about guiding in Lindos, one of the oldest acropolises in Greece. I love strolling through the maze of whitewashed streets, especially stopping by the Captain's House and seeing its beautiful, pebbled mosaic floor,' says Fotini, one of our guides.As you approach Lindos, there's no mistaking the mountaintop fortress of the Acropolis, perched more than 120 metres above the sea. It crowns a headland whose slopes are covered in trees, the whitewashed homes of the village. Don your audio headset and let your local expert take you through narrow, cobbled streets, spotting dinky chapels and gleaming Orthodox churches along the way. The interior of the Church of the Holy Virgin is lavishly decorated in frescoes and icons. Along the way, you'll stop off for a drink in the heart of the village, at a family-run business.Such was the importance of Rhodes and Lindos throughout the centuries, that the Knights of St John erected walls in the 13th-century to protect the citadel. We had a wonderful guide who had lots of interesting information on the drive to and from Lindos. Unfortunately Lindos itself was already very busy once we had arrived. We were picked up at 7.05am and didn't arrive until 8.45am. We then had to walk down a very steep hill down to the Town Square. We could already see a queue of people climbing up to the Acropolis despite being told we would beat the queues. I did not feel safe climbing up with the crowds and opted to stay in Lindos instead

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the journey. He took his time to ensure everyone understood him and was open to questions at anytime. As there was a lot of walking and a steep climb, could I suggest a warning notice and also to make people with baby buggies aware these can't be easily taken up there.

We were very disappointed with this tour. The in hotel rep told us the journey would be around an hour, in reality it took over 2 hours each way. The group was too large for the guide who had to complete the tour in multiple languages. I felt the guide did an excellent job with very difficult circumstances. Lindos it self was very pretty but so busy that it wasnt enjoyable.

It was a long bus journey, the guide was giving you information most of the way which was very helpful. The trip is not for everyone with bad knees or joints. The place is a very lovely place to see.

We were picked up on time. The guide was able to tell us about Rhodes as we travelled to collect other guests. On route to Lindos we were issued out tickets and an ear piece to allow our guide to tell us about the acropolis. Really interesting and informative. Then we had a bit of free time to explore the village before returning to our hotel. Really good tour.

Wir hatten mit Maria eine absolute kompetente Guide Führung, die es verstand mit einem gewissen Humor zu vermitteln. Sicherheit beim Begehen der Akropolis war ihr dabei trotzdem immer wichtig.

Der Reiseleiter war sehr kompetent und hat interessant über die Geschichte und über Land un Leute berichtet. Der Busfahrer hat uns sicher gefahren. Der Ausflug war morgens früh, sodass man auch noch bequem duch die engen Gassen von Lindos schlendern konnte.

I would definitely recommend! The tour was excellent and Lindos Acropolis is an amazing site well worth a visit. Stefan our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The early morning start was worth it to beat the heat and crowds. The steps up to the Acropolis are quite precarious with some sheer drops, but we managed OK with three children (youngest 5yrs). May be helpful to include a map/information on how to find your own way back down the hill and through the town to the bus.

Überteuerte Abzocke. Der Guide betreute uns nicht mal eine Stunde. Er ging mit uns nur auf die Akropolis, den Rest von Lindos sollten wir allein erkunden. Die gesamte Tour dauerte 4 Stunden. Ich frag mich wofür ich 70 € bezahlt habe. Absolut enttäuschend und unverschämt.

Lindos est un incontournable sur l'île de Rhodes. La guide Maria était très bien. Mais comme nous sommes des personnes âgées, nous l'avons abandonnée avant la montée à l'Acropole et avons terminé en visite libre. On a largement le temps de tout voir.

Der Guide war gut seine erklärungen waren top und ausführlich. Was ich auch gut fand das man in Lindos ein getränk auf Kosten von Tui bekommen hat. Nicht so schön fand ich das der Guide erst so kurz vor Lindos einstieg und so halt die erste Stunde fahrt und letzte Stunde fahrt stille im Bus herschte man nichts mitbekam. Auch das der guide dann an der kasse auf die wenigen wartete die entschieden ohne Akropolis zu buchen. hätte es besser gefunden wenn er dann weiter gegangen wäre

Sehr professionelle und kompetente Betreuung durch Reiseleiter Steffen. Kopfhörer konnte sowohl für linkes oder rechtes Ohr genutzt werden 👍 . Die frühe Besichtigungszeit war optimal, da ab 10 Uhr Lindos und Akropolis bereits mit Touristen überlaufen ist.

Gut organisiert, wir mussten zwar früh aufstehen, hatten aber bei der Besichtigung der Akropolis keine Wartezeiten. Eine Stunde später kamen die Busse mit den Passagieren der Kreuzfahrtschiffe.

Les explications étaient sommaires mais suffisantes. Le groupe était bien trop grand pour pouvoir tout entendre avec l'audio guide. Le bus était plein, plus une seule place de libre. On a eu l'impression qu'il avait été chargé au maximum pour être sûr que l'excursion soit rentable. Boisson gratuite à aller chercher dans une petite boutique "de la part de Tui," mais en réalité toute le monde y allait et pas moyen d'entrer dans la boutique. Bref, intéressant mais on ne reste que des touristes.

Massentourismus pur! Komplett überteuert und Lindos ist komplett überfüllt. Hat mir überhaupt nicht gefallen. Wer keinen Massentourismus mag sollte sich diesen Ausflug besser sparen. Wer Lindos besuchen möchte dann besser wohl eher in den Abendstunden privat.

Lindos is very nice but it took 2 hours to get there because of too many pick ups along the way leaving not much time there. Then another 2 hours to drop off on the way back. Poor value for money as most of the time was spent travelling

Der Besuch der Akropolis war super, tolle Reiseleitung (Maria mit der Sonnenblume) sie hat viele und gute Informationen gegeben. Leider war im Anschluss nur sehr wenig Zeit ca. 1 Stunde um den Ort Lindos zu erkunden, Restaurants zu besuchen und gemütlich etwas zu essen war somit leider nicht möglich. Es war nur ein Halbtagesausflug... wir wurden vom Tui-Mitarbeiter im Hotel anders datüber informiert.

De trappen zijn lastig begaanbaar maar wat ik niet wist is dat er geen leuning was, je kon je nergens aan vast houden en naast de trap was niets, daar zou je zomaar een paar meter naar beneden kunnen vallen. Zeker bij drukte op de trap, voor mensen met hoogtevrees is dit toch wel een dingetje. Ik ben maar tot de helft gegaan, ik vond het doodeng. Verder echt een top excursie
