Whether you're a rum lover, a history nut or simply a fan of fun days out, a trip to the Oliver Rum Lab is well worth the visit. They've been producing award-winning rums since 1874, so you'll have the chance to learn about the distillation process and different sugar canes it's made from. And to top off the history lesson there'll be a rum tasting session, too. Plus, if you want to indulge your sweet tooth you can also choose a chocolate materclass.

The rep who collected us came but there were no tui signs at all anywhere and he didn’t speak english which was a bit unnerving. We collected some other people who were Slovakian and made to pay which was confusing. The “tour” was a group of 20 people sat in a room discussing colours and tastes of four shots of rum there was no coffee or chocolate as mentioned by the rep at our hotel! We arrived late into the talk as well. Afterwards we were left sat in the car park for 30 mins

Im Großen und ganzen war der Ausflug gut, Allerdings fand die Veranstaltung komplett in Englisch statt, obwohl wir sie in Deutsch gebucht hatten. Ein Guide der Deutsch spricht war leider nicht da.

We have visited Dominican Republic 6 times previously and had not heard of Oliver’s. Excellent history, pairing of the Rums excellent in fact so good I simply HAD to buy a bottle of each of the Rums show cased by our guide. Rare as not many bottles are produced each Year. Yum Yum

I enjoyed this experience very much. The rum that we tasted was great and so was the talk we were given about each rum. There was also no pressure afterwards to buy anything which I really liked. I didn't purchase any of the rums we tried, but I did purchase some rum whilst there (spiced rum). Although the rum we tried wasn't the spiced kind.

The guide was very knowledgeable and a great host. The venue is set in a shopping area where the staff are extremely helpful. Rums were available to buy at the event, but no pressure was put on us purchase anything. Great trip overall.

Felix the guide he was excellent!! However on arrival they didn’t know what we had come to see whether it was the Rum tour or Chocolate/coffee. The presentation was a slide show and talk from flex. Very interesting . Didn’t get the chocolate tour but ended up with the coffee and rum tour. Very Informative tour for the coffee and rum

Das Rum- und Zigarren Tasting war sehr interessant und Felix - der Guide - war super aufmerksam, allerdings irritiert, das TUI die Tour mit deutscher Führung anbietet. Die Tour war komplett auf englisch und auch der Tranfer (ohne Guide) war nicht auf deutsch.

Transport Arrived Transport arrived on time,driver polite and friendly,met at the fishing drop of but a friendly guide who explained all about the fishing and what to expect with respect to the sea conditions.introduced to our first mate, who took us out to the fishing boat,captain was most welcoming. Sea was a quiet rough which made the fishing a bit difficult.between them they worked really hard to find fish in difficult conditions really happy with the whole experience and my catch

Needed air conditioning that worked more effectively in the travel vehicle as it was very hot travelling to and from the venue. We thought it was an actual rum distillery we were visiting not a museum/shop. Maybe it could be made clearer. Freddy the guide was very informative and knowledgeable. Overall experience was good.

???? - Le guide parlait français - le rhum est très bon ?? - les prix sont très élevé par rapport à ailleurs. Une bouteille à 250$ chez Olivers coûtait 156$ à l’aéroport. Ce sont des voleurs sur les prix - il devrait faire des créneaux horaires selon la langue parlée. Nous étions avec des américains donc le guide était obligé de parler en anglais puis en français à chaque fois

As a couple we enjoyed the tour. You arrive and get taken through a store where you can buy chocolate,cigars,any souvenir really. Once they have done that introduction you go to a separate room which is beautifully displayed with barrels, rum memorabilia. The guide is funny knowledgeable and entertaining. Talks you through the ingredients of rum. You get to try 4 high quality rums with explanation. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The only issue is once you are merry you walk through the shop and buy.

Our guide provided excellent history of rum in the DR. He was very knowledgable and engaging. The samples were fantastic (rum; chocolate, mama juanna in the store). Overall a very positive experience and I would visit this experience again!

The bus was late and it was not clear from the ticket what bus we had to lookout for. Driver did not speak english so when he arrived took a while for us to actually realise. Upon arrival staff were helpful and informative. The rums were good quality and worth the price and the tour (which is basically a 5 minuet talk and a 3 minuet video) was informative. Took place in a shop where there was pressure to buy rum which started at 100$ a bottle and when we didn’t buy said he would lose commission

Tasting was good. Can be more informations from the rum guide. Basically all proces was rush. This ud only degustaion in shop. I couldn't finnish all my runms because they tell us we need to go. And we want to buy some rum but they push us out from the shop because our driver is outside. But he wasn't. We waint another 15 minutes for him. I try to buy something from the shop and they ask me about room number. Why? An on label says $3.50 and cashier say $4. I didn't buy anything and left upset.

Advertised as a Rum Lab Tour, however, it was only a short video, history of Oliver's rum and tasting. This part of the experience only lasted for around half an hour. Myself and our daughter do not drink but still had to pay full price so we could accompany my husband. When we first arrived, we were given a tour of the shop, showing us what we could purchase, which seemed to be more important than the rum tasting.

It took four hours to do the whole presentation. We thought it should have been no more than two hours. Part of the reason it took so long is because we had to wait on another couple who was at one of the other excursions in that same location. We were there at least ten minutes before our excursion was supposed to begin as a courtesy and because it's what was expected of us . So, it was very inappropriate that we waited an hour for someone who was not there on time.

The rum and coffee tasting was excellent, both demonstrators knew their products and made it interesting and fun. The chocolate tasting not so good, I thought i would find out more about chocolate...origins etc but it was just tasting different varieties Very good overall

The rum experience is at the back of a shop named tiano, so likely you will find your experience time will be changed to fit in with the shop visit. The speaker is knowledgeable and fun, and will tell you as much as they can about the rum that you will try. You will leave later then the shop group, but don't worry, tui make sure you get back safe.... Though dependant on traffic very late

This was an amazing experience and would highly recommend it, even if you aren’t a lover of rum. The history is fascinating and the pairings of the snacks with the rum, how it changes the taste etc is amazing. Santiago was a superstar. Very knowledgeable and animated. As a previous non-rum lover, I’m now a covert. Can’t wait to get home and share this with family

The rum presentation by the member of staff was excellent. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and we learned a lot. However there was too much hanging whilst waiting on the presentation and hence thd lower score. We didn't like being left on the shop for a considerable time before being led into the lab. Want to stress the man doing the presentation was great.

Staff in the shop were very informative and helpful. Enjoyed learning about the company history and has been great for the DR. Our guide was amazing (can’t remember his name), very good pace, funny and interesting to learn about flavour combinations and pairings with rum. Opted to taste a cigar, again very informative. Enjoyed a private tasting to our needs/wants. There is a shop too with good price but was rushed to meet our driver. Would recommend even if you don’t like rum.

The whole experience is amazing. The Rum tour was so well put together and knowledgeable. The guide Roodi was brilliant. The whole place is brilliant from the selection of rums to buy, Cigar humidor and lounge at the back definitely added to the experience. Such good value for money it's an experience we'll worth your time and money if you are interested in Rums cigars etc.

Some people didnt show up for our tour so there was just the 3 of us, we got the full vip treatment which was amazing, the knowledge the staff have of the lab is unbeatable.There is a gift shop which sells every souvenir you can think of, all at great prices. The tasting was great fun, we tried 4 different rums in the session, but was then allowed to try more in the gift shop, plus coffee, chocolate, hot chocolate and mamajuana. Amazing value for money, just make sure to bring money for the shop

The overall experience was good but what let it down was the driver we got to take us there never said a word to us no greeting also coughing all the time drop us of and never mentioned that we would be getting different transportation back but the actual experience of rum and cigar tasting was good

Très belle activité qui nous apprend énormément sur la dégustation de rhum. Dommage que nous n’avons pas vu comment se passe la fabrication de cigare. Il y a également un grande boutique souvenir qui vaut la peine.

Wat we leuk vonden! De presentatie was heel heel goed, met een lach verteld maar ook de geschiedenis uitgelegd. De proeving was best in orde en heel lekker. Na de tasting kreeg je nog een sigaar samen met het glas van de tasting. Top ?? aanrader om te doen!

To improve the experience a) you need to inform people more about the transport to and from the shop including journey time. Heel erg leuke proeverij, enthousiaste mensen. Grote nadeel was dat het in een grote souvenirshop was waar je eerst 1-1,5 uur werd losgelaten en er gehoopt/gedacht werd dat je van alles ging kopen. Na de proeverij van 45 minuten, werd je weer in de winkel losgelaten voor 1 uur in de hoop dat je nog meer zou kopen.

The rum tasting experience itself was really good, 4 double measures of premium rum made it worth the value alone. The guide was really good, all the other staff were friendly too. I hadn't realised that it was within a shoo and that other people in our transfer were just there to shop. It was confusing and unclear and would have been helpful if we had known this before hand. There was a long wait just walking around the shop but once the tour did start, it was worth the wait

The host/guide, Anthony was brilliant with everyone. Really informative, intelligent and funny. Accommodated for all languages. The rum we tried was very nice, old as 50 years! We did try only 4, it would have been great if the tour lasted a little longer. Great place to get souvenirs and gifts from in the shop afterwards. We also paid extra to try chocolate and we didn’t try any? Not sure what happened there. Anyway, we did enjoy the tour.

le guide sur place très sympathique le trajet un peu mal organisé on est arrivé à plusieurs et au départ plus que nous et on a attendu le chauffeur manque de communication entre chauffeur et lieu de la visite sinon l’excursion parfait

Wow, the guide definitely made this enjoyable, we brought 5 tickets with the tasting & cigar. The only thing I will say is after tasting the rum, the staff don't give you the cigar, I think, the cigar should be put on the table with the rum & appetisers. Apart from that loved it.

This was a great tour, for anyone booking though it might be better to explain what you actually got for each package on offer, for example some of the pairing options suggested you got chocolate pairing but was this with rum tasters, if yes why is it cheaper than 4 rum tasters, we booked rum tasters and appeared to get chocolate, coffee cigars , etc so a bit confusing. But still a great experience. Anyone booking be advised this is actually at the back of a shop. Good for gifts

Dikke aanrader voor mensen die houden van lekker eten en drinken. Lekkere rum tasting (niet die bucht van het hotel of supermarkt) met bijhorende hapjes. Ideaal voor de smaakpapillen. Anthony de gids wat een entertainer op zich - gewoon pure klasse.
