Experience nearly 1,000 years of Neapolitan history at Castel Sant'Elmo and enjoy breathtaking 360° views of Naples, the surrounding hills, and the Bay of Naples. Built in 1329 on San Martino Hill, the fortress played a key role in the city's military and political history, including the 1348 siege and Masaniello's revolt in 1647.Rebuilt in the 16th century with a star-shaped design, the castle features courtyards, royal apartments, defensive structures, and a water reservoir. Today, it houses art and history exhibitions, the Molaioli Library of Art, and the Church of Sant'Elmo and Chapel of Santa Maria del Pilar, offering a fascinating glimpse into Naples' past.
