O que esperar
Triëst is een levendige havenstad aan de Adriatische Zee. Een plek waar cultuur en geschiedenis samenkomen met de zilte zeelucht. Tijdens deze halve dagtocht met gids ontdek je een stad die gevormd is door Latijnse, Slavische en Germaanse invloeden. Marco, onze lokale gids, zegt: “Ik vind het geweldig om mensen rond te leiden in Triëst. De stad heeft een rijke geschiedenis die je terugziet in de architectuur. Elke hoek vertelt een verhaal."Je begint je tour met een panoramische busrit door Triëst, waarbij je gids je de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden van de stad aanwijst. Daarna stop je bij Piazza Unita d'Italia aan de Adriatische Zee voor een rondleiding. Je gids vertelt je over het verleden van het plein, de rol die het heeft gespeeld in het vormgeven van de identiteit van de stad en de indrukwekkende architectuur. Het plein wordt omringd door een paar van de meest historische gebouwen van de stad, zoals het Palazzo del Municipio – het stadhuis – en het Palazzo Lloyd Triestino, een oud hoofdkantoor van een rederij.Daarna heb je een paar uur de tijd aan jezelf om Triëst op je eigen tempo te verkennen. Terwijl je door de oude stad slentert, zie je een mix van architecturale stijlen, van Romeinse ruïnes tot grootse neoklassieke paleizen. En als je even wil bijtanken, zijn er tal van cafés om neer te strijken. Onze tip: het iconische Caffé San Marco, bekend om zijn bijzondere interieur met antieke decoraties en fresco's aan de muren. Ten slotte ga je weer naar Piazza Unita d'Italia voor een schilderachtige rit terug naar je hotel.

We were lucky enough to have fantastic weather and our gide was nice and knowledgeable. The day did seem to go rather quick once in Trieste maybe an extra hour to explore would be good.

Overall the trip was great. The trip was described as suitable for people with reduced mobility. After leaving the coach we had a 45 minute walk with the guide , who then showed us where to meet up at the allocated time. This realy is suitable if you have mobility issues as my as I struggled with this. We should have been shown the meeting point 1st and then had the option to go with the guide.

The whole trip was well organised comfortable coach trip great driver and guide Tin and John Tin was very knowledgeable and kept info interesting you could tell he loves his job, nothing was too much trouble Trieste tour was great and we had plenty of time to explore eat and have a drink, would definitely recommend, we had a lovely day it was just right

Excellent trip, good value for money, very good guide. Beautiful city, lots of free time to ezplore, highly recommend the walk to the top of the hill to see the cathedral, it is stunning! Don't use the public loos, it literally is a hole in the ground with no locking doors 🤣

The trip was good but we found the 3 hour free time too long so we’re glad we went with the guide Mauro up to the church at the top of the hill. We found Mauro informative but at times we got too much info. Also the public toilet's in Trieste were smelly and horrible and ladies had to squat to go. We needed to be told this at the service station so we could go there instead. It is described as moderate mobility but a couple on our trip struggled with their walking and was difficult.

Beautiful city. We had a great time looking at all the arcitecture styles and experiencing the cafe culture. Journey wasn't tht long and the guide was brilliant. He catered for all of the group . He was very knowledgeable without boring the group. Would recommend this trip.

The guide was very knowledgeable but very boring. He gave far too much information in a monochrome tone. The tour advertised with panoramic views, this was not true that part of the trip was a drive around the busy city while the guide pointed out buildings of interest that could hardly be seen. When we arrived to the coach we had to sit in two separate seats and could not be seated together. It was a small minibus. As the time on the bus was the majority of the trip this was unacceptable.

Picked up on time. Our guide TIn was excellant. We travelled through Slovnia to TrIeste. The Panoramic tour was in the mini bus not a seperate bus. It wasnt a problem as Tin pointed out the highlights and then took us on a walking tour before we went off for time on our own. A nice trip

I thought the trip was very well organised. The guide was fantastic gave us lovely bits of knowledge on the coach which was great. I thought the price was right too. 4 hours is plenty time in Trieste. I wouldn't change anything about the trip. We left our hotel (tui blue medulin) at 7.25 am. It was 2.5-3 hour dive there. Either 1 hour tour followed by 3 hours free time. Or 4 hours free time. 2.5-3 hour return. Leave Italy at 2pm

Nice scenery. A long time on the coach to basically go shopping! The guide was good but 3 hours free time is hard to fill when there is little to do apart from looking at expensive clothes shops. Remember we are tourists with weight limits on our luggage.

A beautiful city, so many areas to explore. Our driver Vittorio and guide Mauro were excellent. Very patient, knowledgeable and a pleasure to travel with. Having free time to explore alone was very enjoyable.

Beloofd bus met panoramadak,gekregen taxibus met 6 ,Heen en terug met 130 over de snelweg, weinig kunnen zien,Triest 25 min gids daarna 3 uur zelf rondgekeken,om ong. 13 30 weer opgepikt en met 130 weer naar hotel. Chauffeur en Gids waren van goede wil maar de beloofde excursie leek een F1 race

We were on the bus for 3 hours to Trieste, no break for drinks, then the guide carried on in Trieste for another hour & a quarter without a break, we left him to go get a drink & our lunch. Return trip to the hotel was another 2 & 3 quarter hours without a break. Probably the worst TUI trip I have been & I have done several trips in the past.

We would have preferred to be picked up from the hotel as other guests were rather than from the bus stop. It was a very early start and we had to leave at 06.40 as my husband has poor mobility. Trieste overall was a little underwhelming. The Panoramic Bus Tour as described did not happen.

First time this trip ran. Guide left us all alone after a short walk around the square, leaving us free time for 4 hours, without a map or any real idea about attractions & facilities. Described as a panoramic tour of Trieste, which it definitely was not. Feeder coach from hotel to meet main coach, again not explained when booking or joining the trip.

We booked this tour because of having a guide and a “panoramic bus tour” included in the price. Unfortunately we only had the guide for half an hour whilst she showed us two squares and then left us saying to meet the bus in 4 hours. The panoramic bus tour did not happen. We are elderly and 4 hours left wondering was too much. The tour details advertised did not match what actually happened. A reimbursement for the panoramic bus tour component would be appreciated.

Apart from the transport provided to get to Trieste which was not a panoramic bus tour, upon arrival our guide spent a maximum of 10 minutes with us then sent us on our way to walk around for 4 hours, with no real information provided. If I had realised this would be the plan, I would have spent time researching Trieste so that I knew where to go.
