This self-guided journey through Canyonlands' Needles District reveals striking rock formations, ancient history, and rugged desert beauty.Drive past the colorful spires of the Needles District and hear the story of the Home of Truth, a mysterious desert utopian colony. Pass into the sacred lands of Bears Ears National Monument, where Indigenous history and modern conservation meet.At Newspaper Rock, discover centuries of petroglyphs left by ancestral Puebloans and settlers. Then, follow the road through Indian Creek’s towering cliffs and past the historic Dugout Ranch, a symbol of cowboy heritage and conservation.Spot the iconic Sixshooter Peaks on the horizon before reaching the vast views of Lockhart Basin.
