Ancient Side has hardly changed since its days as a getaway for legendary lovers Antony and Cleopatra. Uncover one of southern Turkey's best-kept secrets with this tour. You'll get to snap photos by the Temple of Apollo, discover the huge Roman theatre and explore modern Side, too. As Muzaffer, one of our guides, says, ‘You'll walk all over history. On the way to the Temple of Apollo, there are glass walkways over ancient Roman streets.'Side's location on a compact little headland is as romantic as it gets. Our expert local guide will give you the lowdown on the long history of this once-busy Roman port. You'll see the marketplace where slaves were traded, the Byzantine hospital and the Vespasian Gate. Then you'll head inside either the ancient theatre, which is a sight to behold – it seated up to 20,000 spectators – or the former bathhouse, which is now a museum with a small but impressive collection of the artefacts dug up here.But one of the most-photographed spots is the Temple of Apollo. Legend says that this second-century seafront shrine was a gift from Antony to Cleopatra. And just beside it is the Temple of Athena – zoom in on the frieze of Medusa heads. Historische und interessante Neubauten sehr sehenswert. Der Reiseleiter äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Alle Fragen beantwortete er in gutem Deutsch und tiefgründig. Ich Kanne den Kurztrip sehr empfehlen. Sehr guter und freundlicher Busfahrer.

Interessante Ausgrabungsstätte, aber nicht vergleichbar mit Ephesus oder Pompeji. Für Menschen mit Gehbehinderung bzw. Einschränkungen weniger geeignet. Alles in allem aber empfehlenswert.

Wir haben p.p 50€ bezahlt nur um ein Museum zu betreten. Wo das Eintrittsticket 5€ kostet und man dann grad mal 20min Zeit hat zum Durchschauen. Das side Amphitheater ist von Sichtschutz Plakaten verdeckt und wenn man rein schauen konnte waren Baumaschinen Krane zu sehen .Und das 2te Antike Museums Gelände wurde uns garnicht erst angeboten. Dann von ihnen mit eine Orangensaft abzuspeisen ist auch echt unverschämt. Dann erklären sie mir bitte ihre Meinung für diesen Preis ihrer Seite .

The tour is good but we get left twice to just look around the museum or read some boards. For the money i feel the guide should take you around everything. When we spoke he was great but id have liked more from him. We also werent able to see the theatre, one of the major viewpoints. We werent told in advance or offered a discount. This was disappointing.

The guide was amazing, he took time to try and support my daughter who was very overwhelmed and had a meltdown on the coach before we left. He reassured her and gave her sweets and suggested I move seats to give her some space. It worked and when we arrived she was calm and we had a really great tour. He had so much knowledge of the history of the area and could tell you from the top of his head not from reading cue cards. He gave us directions and timings for meeting points and stayed on time!

Wir hatten esra die uns betreut hat genauso wie am 1 Tag die Führung durch die Burg in Höhle. Esra hat alles wirklich super erklärt und viel mehr Informationen gegeben zu Alanya zu Side alle Fragen wurden super beantwortet. Wir haben uns wirklich bei beiden Touren sehr wohlgefühlt und empfehlen es wirklich weiter die auch sich etwas für Geschichte interessieren. Wirklich sehr spannend

Unfortunately our designated guides English was not great and I think due to this she did very little talking/guiding. Side is a beautiful place rich with culture and history and we booked a guided tour to learn more, sadly we did not. The information we got was from reading the signs our self. We we left to visit the museum town and appollo completely by ourselves with out the guide. The guide basically walked us from the car park to museum entrance that’s it. Should have got a taxi on our own

We feel that we were miss sold this trip. The tui rep said that there would be 12 of us on small mini bus whick will take 40 minutes, we would be back by 1.00pm, we will be amazed at the sights how wrong was this. There were 32 of us on a large coach and it took 1 and a half hours to get there, we did not get back till 2.35, the amphitheatre was closed and will be for 5 years for renovation. The guide was very good bit we think that we are owed a refund for being miss sold this trip..

Pünktlich wurden wir am Hotel abgeholt. Reiseleiterin Esra konnte uns viel über die Geschichte und die Sehenswürdigkeiten in Side erzählen. Mit den 2 Stunden Freizeit in Side sind wir gut ausgekommen. Danach ging es pünktlich wieder zum Hotel.

Leider wurde beim Buchen Holländisch statt Deutsch angekreuzt. Somit haben wir gar nichts verstanden. Am Busbahnhof in Side mussten wir eine Dreiviertelstunde auf unseren Reiseführer warten. Wir wurden immer wieder anderen Gruppen zugewiesen. Nach dem Besuch beim Markt wurden wir wieder einem anderen Reiseleiter zugewiesen. Danach mussten wir wieder eine Dreiviertelstunde auf die andere Gruppe warten. Obwohl die Sehenswürdigkeiten schön waren, war der Ausflug und die Organisation enttäuschend.

Einfach Sehenswert. Top Tour bzw. Ausflug. Der Guide hat auch alles top gemacht. Sehr Informativ und gut erzählt. Insgesamt war das ganze Personal von Planung bis zur Ausführung der Tour super. Sehr Freundlich und informativ.??. Wetter perfekt, ein bisschen Heiß, aber ja auch normal zu dieser Jahreszeit. Einziges Manko meinerseits...dadurch daß es so viel zu sehen und bestaunen gibt, könnte man die Tour um ein bis zwei Stunden erweitern. Es geht alles Recht schnell.??. Aber Top Top Top??

Das Theater ist leider wegen Umbaumaßnahmen aktuell geschlossen und konnte deshalb nur von außen besichtigt werden. Ansonsten war alles in Ordnung. Zeit hat gereicht um alles zu sehen und um etwas einkaufen zu gehen. Netter Tour Guide. Auch unser Orangensaft ging schnell :)

For meget ventetid på andre bussers ankomst, før vi kunne deles op i de sprog vi havde valgt. Vores guide kunne lidt gebrokkent Engelsk, som var meget mangelfuld. Meget lidt info om de forskellige seværdigheder og det meste af tiden var man på egen hånd. Vi fik ca. 20 min. info i starten af turen og fik så 40 min på egen hånd. Indgang kostede 100 TL. Bagefter gik vi til en restaurant for at få et glas Juice. Efter dette var man igen på egen hånd i Side i ca 1,5 time. Alt i alt en spildt tur.

Goed geregeld door TUI. Jammer dat het theater niet toegankelijk is. Dit vanwege renovatie. Het naastgelegen badhuis is wel open en tentoongesteld. Erg mooi gemaakt. Niet groot. De tour met de gids was leuk. Qua tijd ook wel genoeg. Het badhuis en de tempels heb je snel gezien. Het stadje Side is leuk voor 1 keer. Ik had een oude bouwstijl verwacht, maar meer beetje Oostenrijks-achtige bouwstijl. Mooi dat de oude stad onder glasplaten ligt. De shops allemaal hetzelfde. Wel leuke terrasjes.

The guide should have a mike attached to her. She also walked too fast and didn't count the numbers in her group! Right at the beginning of the tour, she told us to meet at 09.30, but left at 09.25!! We had a panicky start. It didn't feel very much like a guided tour.

Excellent excursion, full of history about the side way of life thousands of years ago and the influence of the Greeks and technological advances of the Romans. We had a great guide called Ege, very friendly, knowledgeable and informative, a credit to the company.

Het was jammer dat de gids alleen Engels sprak. Aangezien het Engels ook zijn moedertaal niet was, is het een uitdaging om alles goed te begrijpen, aangezien er redelijk snel verteld wordt. Zeker met betrekking tot de geschiedenis van alles. Verder was het weer perfect geregeld.

Nous avons apprécié le professionnalisme et la gentillesse de notre guide Ege (qui a été au petit soin avec notre bébé de 17 mois) Il nous a fait part de ses connaissances du site visité avec beaucoup d’enthousiasme. La partie side avec le temple d Apollon était très bien. Néanmoins il nous apparaît qu’un montant de 50 euros pour l ensemble de l’excursion est onéreux au vu des activités effectuées.

Sorry, aber der Ausflug ist sehr überteuert! Die 50€ sind eigentlich unverschämt. Der Reiseleiter war gut auch der Busfahrer. Dennoch etwas zu viele Anfahrstellen, da haben sich viele beschwert. 30€ wären das absolute maximale und für Kinder keine 36 sondern 15€. Warum gibt es keine Familienpreis. Und warum ist der Ausflug zum Aquarium so Wucher teuer? Das kann eine Familie sich nicht mehr leisten!!! Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder. W. Kurz

Ausflug und Reiseleiter waren super. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war definitiv nicht angebracht. Wir haben pro Erwachsenen 50 € bezahlt, pro Kind 36 €. Der Eintritt in die antike Stadt Side ist minimal, der Eintritt zum Apollontempel ist kostenlos. Angebracht wären maximal 30-35 € pro Erwachsenen.

Guter Bus, toller Guide, großartige geschichtliche Informationen und Organisation. Zugang zum Museum war verzögert, aber sehr interessant. Der O-Saft war frisch, hat aber sehr lange gedauert. Private Zeit ausreichend. Antik Tour Side lohnt sich allemal.

Die Tour war total super und sehr aufschlussreich. Der Guide hat die Tour trotz der Hitze sehr angenehm gestaltet und die wichtigsten Infos auf den Punkt gebracht und spannende Details erwähnt, die man ansonsten nicht erfährt. Die Tour ist auf jeden Fall von der Dauer her auch für Kids geeignet.

Geringe Zeit für die freie Besichtigungen in der Altstadt, 15 Minuten Wartezeit für ein Glas Orangensaft gehen gar nicht. Erklärungen waren gut, jedoch nicht immer verständlich. Am Museum Chaos, da der TUi Zugangscod nicht vorhanden war. Trotz Nachfrage bei unserer TUI Ansprechpartnerin Rita fand auf Grund des Feiertages am 30.08. kein Basar statt. Auch die zugesicherten 10% Nachlass waren schlagartig nicht mehr möglich. Für den Preis für eine 4 köpfige Familie nicht akzeptabel.

War wie erwartet. Gab überall genügend Toiletten. Wir hatten 2 kleine Kinder dabei. Sie haben die Tour schön mitgemacht. Haben am Ende den Busshuttle zurück zum Bus genommen. War sehr gut. Musste man nicht alles zurück laufen.

Sehr kompetenter Führer. Pünktlichkeit bei der Abholung war nicht gut. 15 Minuten Wartezeit. In Summe war die komplette Organisation sehr gut.

Our guide was punctual,professional,extremely funny and had great knowledge. There was no question he would not answer and everything was explained with enthusiasm . We left our trip with new information, that my daughter could not wait to share with family members at home. Side was stunning ! I booked the trip from home on the Tui app ,and was a dissapointed to hear ,if i booked it through the Tui reps on site ,I would have recieved 30%-50% discount . Other than this,a well worth it tour .
