What to expect
Hop aboard for a full-day boat trip to Catalina Island, a stone's throw from the south coast of the mainland. You'll drop anchor to snorkel around one of the Dominican Republic's most bustling coral reefs, La Pared, where you can spot a colourful carpet of live corals, crabs and tropical fish. Then, you'll head to dry land, where you can enjoy some beach time and tuck into lunch, Dominican-style. Think fresh grilled meats, rice and salads served with your choice of beer, rum, or soft drinks.

Please be aware that children under 10 years old can't take part in the snorkel stop
You'll return to Bayahibe at around 5.30pm and to Punta Cana at around 6.30pm

Waardeloze excursie. Niet doen. Zonde tijd. Staf was ongeïnteresseerd en vooral met elkaar in gesprek. ‘s ochtends 3 uur over gedaan om bij haven bayahibe te komen. 2 overstappen moeten maken naar andere bus en ook onnodige stop bij toerist shop. Veel te kleine boot en er moesten mensen weer af. Kapitein voer veel te hard en had haast. Snorkelen maar een half uur. 2,5 uur op het strand. 2 lelijke valpartijen waar niemand naar omkeek

The boat, food and island were nice. The transfers were AWFUL, we are two young women who were holidaying together, and the transfers were scary, it felt like we were being kidnapped. I speak Spanish so not a huge problem, but for others this is NOT an English tour, they speak English but 90% of the other passengers are Spanish so English is an afterthought.

A good safe location was chosen to snorkel, The coral was full of colour from the plants and fish swimming, we had sufficient time in the water and it was easy to get on and off the boat

The stuff who was from TUI worked with the guys from the island and he booking drinks for people who when we get there they gone waiting for us like Pinacolada and coconut with rum for 10$ each i didn't wanted to pay extra 10$ for drink and I passed so when we get there he charge the people for 10$ each for drink. But when you ask by yourself the price is just 5$ and he reap people off 5$ each there was at least 20 people. And when you go there just cash on you card is 20% plus

Leuke excursie, het snorkelen had van mij langer gemogen. Je bent ruim 3 op het strand en wij hebben ongeveer 30 minuten gesnorkeld.

Great experience, guide was great, super boat trip and then snorkelling. Then back on the boat for a stay on the island. Easy access to everything, good food and incredible beach.

Availability of drinks not great. No bottled water. Organisation at the marina was poor but guide seemed to know what was going on. Stop at warehouse shop unnecessary but all part of the money making. No pressure sales though. Beach and food were lovely though. Expensive gift hut if you want that.

Transport duurde te lang we moesten overstappen in een andere bus, prima natuurlijk maar hebben zeker 30 min moeten wachten. Boot tocht was super leuk erheen. Op catalonia eiland vonden we alles uit en vies. Lig bedjes doorgezakt en kapot de wc erg smerig en de lunch was ook niet echt top. Op de terug weg helaas geen stop om te snorkelen meteen door naar de bus terug. Staat op de site dat we tot 17.30 op boot zouden zijn. We waren al om 16.00 in de bus terug. Geen 120 dollar per persoon waard.

Enjoyed nothing.Absolute shambles of a trip. Complete waste of money.Firstly, was not informed as to which company would be picking up from hotel. Around 100 people in reception with five or so vehicles and nobody had a clue where to be going.Once at the boat we sat on it for over one hour before heading off.We’re taken to one snorkelling stop ( the tui rep at Riu bamboo said there would be three). The organisation was outstanding, our transport arrived to take us to the communal coach exactly on time. The tour guide was friendly and fun, extremely good at dipping between Spanish and English and very knowledgeable, giving a lot of information about the country as we travelled. The catamaran was super, snacks and unlimited drinks provided. I suffer with an arthritic knee and once aware, the crew were amazing at helping me to navigate embarking and disembarking boats, the island is beautiful

To start with we had to drive to a petrol garage and wait for 3 other coaches to which we was all swapped around (none of this is in the write up) whilst at the beach we was told that food was at 1pm we was not told that would also mean everyone from every separate tour would be queuing for food at the same time from the same place. Had we done this excursion firat we would not of booked saona (which far exceeds this one) luckily we did saona first.

Er staat beschreven dat je meerdere snorkelstops heb. Dat is al niet waar je doet er 1.. Ze geven aan dat je naar Romana gaat naar een ruïne en stadje kijken. Hebben we helemaal niet gedaan.. wat we hebben gezien met snorkelen was wel gaaf maar daarvoor moesten we weg van de groep omdat de reisgids brood strooide dat er meer vissen kwamen maar dat jaagde juist de mooie vissen weg en het water werd er trouble van.. Geen aanrader dus

Boat staff was absolutely professional and helpful. Island experience makes everything down. Some staff was absolute unprofessional and tried taking the customer money. Needs to chase him for the returning money back. Island was to busy Boats arrived every 10 minutes next to our part of the beach.. Lunch was same , many people and no table for everyone. Staff sitting around the big table and chatting , some people ate their lunch standing up..
