What to expect
There's only one way to explore Cyprus's last wilderness – in a 4x4 vehicle. This off-road adventure will take you on a bumpy ride through the rugged Akamas peninsula. You'll get to see the wildlife-rich Avakas Gorge and Lara Bay, visit Port Latchi and the mythical Baths of Aphrodite. An action-packed day.Home to more than 160 species of birds and almost 40 species of plants, the entire peninsula is a national park. There are no main roads – just dirt tracks and pathways. The fun kicks off with a drive to the giant limestone walls of the Avakas Gorge. Next up is Lara Bay. This very remote spot – even by Akamas peninsula standards – is home to a breeding station for protected green turtles.It's time to rev up the engine again for a trip to Port Latchi. Then, in the afternoon you'll visit the Baths of Aphrodite. Legend has it that the Greek goddess of love used to bathe here with her lover, Adonis. Legend also has it that the waters have magical rejuvenating properties.

Fahrer ist super sicher gefahren auch Off Road. Es wurde viel erklärt man bekam genug Zeit für Fotos. Auch wurden Gewürze gezeigt und man konnte daran riechen. Auch wenn man sich nicht an einigen Stellen weiter traute konnte man auf die Rückkehr der Gruppe warten. Die Fahrt durch die Natur war grandios.

Im Vorfeld wurde angekündigt durch die Reiseleitung TUI im Hotel dass man während des Ausflugs schwimmen kann, das war leider nicht der Fall. Ansonsten alles prima????

The gorge was lovely although the trip was rather rushed Turtle beach was out of season but still pleasant despite the complete lack of guiding there driver/guide was impatient and surly. we felt as if we were being carried around in his substandard Land Rover - faulty seatbelts- as an encumbrance while he stopped for coffee with colleagues. The English guide was good in the gorge but after that almost invisible. The standard of driving on road was poor using mobile while driving erratically.

At one point, our guide returned to base rather rapidly leaving my wife and I behind as we have an interest in the flora. Otherwise it was really good and the guide explained about the local geology and relevant trees and bushes that we also saw and which were both really interesting!

Overpriced for what it was. Nice to see more of the island and our driver Gerry was excellent, but the experience was pretty underwhelming and overpriced. If it had been £30 per person, or had included lunch then maybe worth it.

Die Tour hat uns insgesamt wirklich sehr gut gefallen. Besonders beeindruckt haben uns die atemberaubenden Landschaften. Ein Verbesserungsvorschlag wäre, trotz der Wintersaison einen Stopp bei der Grünen und Blauen Lagune zu ermöglichen. Diese Orte bieten beeindruckende Ausblicke und wären auch im Winter ohne Bademöglichkeit ein echtes Highlight. Der letzte Halt in Latsi hingegen war weniger wertvoll, da es dort keine bedeutsamen kulturellen oder natürlichen Sehenswürdigkeiten gab.

Easy booking on the app. Really excellent driver guide Gerry who was friendly, informative & helpful throughout the day. We sat in the back of the jeep & were comfortable enough. Our seatbelts worked well & we felt safe on the very bumpy roads. We were offered the opportunity to swap seats at each stop but we were happy where we were. The stops were varied and we really enjoyed exploring the area.

The guides were cheerful, friendly and knowledgeable. The gorge, the turtle breeding beach, turtle museum and exploring the Aphrodite bath area (self-guided) were all enjoyable and varied. We had brought a packed lunch, as advised, but we were given time to eat at a restaurant if we wished. We were lucky enough to be sitting on the seats not the bench of the 4x4.

Guides were friendly and knowledgeable loved the whole day. Walk was over uneven ground but worth it. Where we stopped for lunch which was optional as not included in the price was excellent value for money.

Our guide was friendly and helpful-all the elements of the tour were interesting. The unmade roads make for bumpy ride but to be expected. Where a short hike (1.5-2km) is involved it would be helpful to indicate.

Guide Vasili was great, entertaining and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we were 2nd to last pick up and had to sit in the back of the jeep which was really uncomfortable and because I am tall my head was hitting the roof. It would have been fairer if passengers were asked to swop around over the course of the trip so everyone got a chance to have a more comfortable seat.

Picked up promptly. Guide pleasant, polite & informative. Loved the off road experience, which is quite bumpy, but great. Good to see that part of Cyprus. Beautiful area and coast line. Could only glimpse inside the Avakas Gorge due to heavy rainful the night before and during the trip sadly, so due to safety (slippery rock and possibility of falling rock) we couldn't venture into the Gorge. We accept this was the right decision but it was disappointing for us, but sensible. Great lunch stop.

Our tour guide on the safari was brilliant. His name was Louis. His knowledge was fantastic and was so educational. It was a fantastic experience for us and we would do it again.

The walk in the Gorge to as far as we could go was great, really interesting and beautiful. The driver picked small bits of wild plants to smell and guess what they were, before giving us facts about them, a day of the 5 senses. What I really enjoyed was the visit to the Olive Oil processing plant, which is not part of the itinerary, but should be. It was amazing, watching the olives on arrival, to the end part as the oil was squeezed, answering our questions, we had no idea.

We had a fantastic day , our guide ensured everything ran smoothly. The views were stunning. The short walk up the gorge was fun , we went there early & avoided the larger numbers of people there later in the day. Stopped for coffee on a beautiful beach & found out about turtle conservation. Lunch in latchi harbour was wonderful ( we had a delicious seafood platter , not included) Aphrodite's baths were quaint. Last stop was to an olive mill, where we watched olives milled. Fantastic.

Luigi war ein super Guide und Fahrer, der kleine Abstecher nach Kathikas, wo wir den besten Kaffee getrunken haben, den ich jemals getrunken habe, in typisch griechischer Atmosphäre war etwas ganz Besonderes. Die Pisten sind teilweise durch den vielen Regen sehr anspruchsvoll, aber mit Luigi haben wir alles gut gemeistert. Akamas Tour unbedingt zu empfehlen, ich habe viele schöne Landschaften von Zypern kennengelernt.
