What to expect
Mystical mountains, verdant valleys, secluded coves and azure waters that glitter in the sunlight. Kefalonia is a beauty. Take the ferry across from Zante for the day and then hop on a coach for a tour of the island's most picturesque spots, including Melissani Cave and Myrtos Bay.Just north of Zante, Kefalonia is an island that's big on beauty. You'll cruise over, watching the mountains and cliffs rise high from the sea to Pessada harbour. Your first stop is Drogarati Cave, where you'll step inside a vast cavern and be dazzled by the numerous stalactites and stalagmites. We'll continue to Lake Melissani for a boat trip across this underground lagoon with aquamarine waters that glisten in the sun.Next, we'll head to the seaside village of Agia Efimia. Here, you'll have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, there's a photo stop at Myrtos Bay – a famous filming spot from Captain Corelli's Mandolin. Rounding off the trip is some free time in Argostoli, the island's capital.

This excursion was honestly the best one you could do while in Zante, the island is beyond beautiful and the two activities you can do too more than worth it. You do have to pay for both in addition which is 6 euro for caves per person and 10 euro for lake per person but well worth the price!

Kefalonia ist superschön, Guide Bianca war toll, aber leider wieder nur auf holländisch und englisch, obwohl die Tour nur auf deutsch buchbar war, ich weiß nicht warum TUI überhaupt noch Ausflüge auf deutsch anbietet, wenn es dann doch jedesmal auf englisch durchgeführt wird? Früher konnten die Guides auch mal auf 3 oder 4 Sprachen erzählen! Drogarati Höhle könnte man sich sparen, Melissani See toll aber Wartezeit von 1 Std. zu lang, lieber mehr Zeit mittags, Kloster schön, Landschaft mega!

Sent a lot of time on the bus, was a beautiful island and the only thing I could say negative was that there wasn’t enough time in the main town at the end and was dropped there when there all in siesta and 90% of the shops where closed. But with ferry time booked time was tight

Our guide Konstantina and driver Demitrious were excellent. The tour stated 8 hours yet it was 13. This was a very long day. Queuing for 90 mins for the Messalina lake was ridiculous as was 30 Euros for 2 adults and a teen for a 15 min experience. Lunch was wolfed down in a bakery at 15.30, way too late after such an early start. We had a pathetic 20 mins in the capital due to the ferry leaving at 18.00. Agastoli looked lovely yet we saw virtually nothing of it which was disappointing.

30 mins at the caves is not long enough, by the time you climb down, run round run back up the steps, which is steep understandable, takes away the pleasure of what you have had to quickly look at, needs to be a hour, certainly no time to buy a souvenir.

Kefalonia is a beautiful island. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The two cave tours were interesting, but there was a fair amount of time spent waiting in line, and both were very busy (maybe as there were cruise ship tours also in Kefalonia that day). The ferry ride was quite lengthy (approx 90 minutes), but there was ample space to sit inside or outside.

Should have gone 2 days earlier but trip cancelled 15 minutes after our original pick up time, surely this was known before then as we were one of the last pickups. Overall it was a good trip, boat over lake was long queue for just a 5 minute ride. Do not like being taken to a specific restaurant and basically being told this is where we are eating. Nothing much on menu for vegetarians and only really main meals, only wanted a snack at lunchtime.

Reisleidster Bianca was fantastisch! Ze vertelde heerlijk over Zakynthos en Kefalonie en over haar zelf. De uitstapjes zijn goed geregeld! Jammer van het eten bij de verplichte taverne, dat vonden we niet zo lekker. Al met al een topdag gehad, zou het echt niet willen missen.

Es war von Anfang bis zum Schluss sehr spannend! Gut organisiert und es wurde viel über die Insel erzählt. Keine lange wartezeiten und es gab mehrfach die möglichkeit an Essen und trinken was bitte geändert werden sollte wäre die Angabe der Dauer von 8 Stunden - von abholzeit bis retour ins Hotel waren es bei uns 12 Stunden - Dies war nicht das Problem sondern das man sich im vorfeld besser darauf einstellen kann das es ein Tagestripp ist und nicht in 8 Stunden wieder im Hotel ist

Laat ik beginnen met te zeggen dat het eiland Kefalonie een prachtig eiland is. Maar als we hadden geweten dat de ferry naar het eiland er ruim 100 minuten over deed ( enkele reis ) en we bijna de hele verdere dag in de bus zouden zitten dan waren we beslist niet mee gegaan. Onder een hele dag verstaan wij ong 8 uur, wij hebben er 14 uur over gedaan. We zijn om 07.35 uur vertrokken en om 21.30 uur waren we terug bij ons hotel

Gids Bianca is TOP. We hebben genoten van deze trip. Best zit je aan de kant van de gids, zo kan je meer genieten van de mooie natuur van Kefalonia. De grotten waren mooi, maar meer dan 100 trappen is niet voor iedereen weggelegd. We zagen ook een zeeschildpad aan de brug in de hoofdstad. Mooi dag gehad. Ook een zeer veilige chauffeur Pieros.

Guide leider nicht in Deutsch erklärt so wie gebucht wäre gut, wenn in Besxhreibung stehen würde, dass Fähre erst um 18 Uhr fährt und man erst sehr spät im Hotel ist

The tour was fabulous the tour guide and the driver were absolutely amazing. They cater for all our needs. The tour guide was well informed about the area and told everyone what was going on around as we were travelling around on the coach cannot find the tool ride enough informed information she was telling us.

Kefalonie is prachtig, niet te toeristisch. Wat heel prettig was dat er geen verdere commercie aan vast zat. Klooster en grot bezoek was ook ‘alleen’ klooster en grot bezoek. Met de eilandentoer die ik 11 juni maakte vond ik dat wel erg aanwezig , ging niet zo zeer om t proeven maar om t kopen van bijv wijn, zoetigheden. Bij de Kefalonie toer was t heel relaxed en hadden we ook genoeg tijd voor hetgeen we bezochten. Bianca en ook de chauffeur…toppers.

Al met al een erg lange dag. Aanwezig om 7.05 uur bij opstapplaats bus, vertrek 7.25 uur vanuit Tsilivi incl. overtocht met veerpont circa 2.00 uur naar Kefalonië. Rondtocht en diverse activiteiten tot 17.45 uur (zeer zeker de moeite waard). Uiteindelijk om 21.00 uur terug in het appartement. De excursie op Kefalonië an sich duurt idd 8 uur (echter zonder reistijd). Advies: Vermeld de lange reistijd bij de info.

Fina naturupplevelser med grottor med stalaktiter och underjordisk sjö! Dessa två hade gärna fått pågå längre tid och att lunch intogs där. Sämre var att utflykten tog hela 13 timmar. Stoppet vid huvudstaden var forcerat och inget hanns med, det borde slopats helt. Man var tvungen att köpa biljetter till både grottorna o sjön. Lunchen var inte prisvärd, och ett stopp som också blev tajt med tid. Vi var två vuxna och en 12 åring som spenderade totalt över 1000kr utöver kostnaden för utflykten.

The TUI rep was incompetent. Trip not value for money. Took an unnecessarily long time being 4-6 hours longer so exhausted by end. Lacked organisation. TUI unaware of local festivals so created longer delays. When we were stationery in a queue it was only by the clients taking charge that we progressed home. Tour was incomplete and didn`t follow itinerary. The first to being collected and then dropped off made trip a nightmare to be avoided.

Leuke dag trip, boot en bus prima! Genoeg informatie gekregen. Tip: verkoop kaartjes grotten in de bus te verkopen of op boot anders gaat het van de tijd bij klooster af! Grotten mooi om te zien. Klooster ook mooi. Mooi eiland zeker de moeite waard!!

Overall very good. Scenic and Informative. Guide very positive and knowledgeable. Caves a little small and long time in coach. Possibly shorter Lunch and get some time in a resort. Time estimated for trip was 8 hours but overall trip was over 12 hours. Must add that it was a very enjoyable day including the boat back as the sun sets.

Long time travelling. Standing for an hour in the rain at The Lakes for a 5 minute ride on a boat. Taken to a restaurant for lunch at 3pm told we had got 40 mins to eat our meal.We had been up since 6.30am. Meal was cold I didn't pay waiter he said too many people arrive together. Guide unhappy that we complained as she had been going to there for 15 years. She never apologised when we got on the coach.We arrived back to Argasi at 8.30pm had to walk from church to hotel road closed for festival.

Too expensive for what it was; cost of caves and lake should not be extra. Too long on bus; not enough time to see much of Kefalonia. Lunch was inedible (I refused to pay), we were too late having it (3.00 pm) and we only had maximum 40 mins to eat. Waited far too long (over an hour in a thunderstorm ) for a 10 min boat ride (although I realise that the queue was caused by a cruise liner being in Kefalonia- can’t this be checked before the trip takes place or be re-arranged? Perhaps lunch 1st

Good tour and Kay was very knowledgeable. Large cruise ship guests made attractions busy and therefore we did not manage to visit the capital city off Kefalonia which was a disappointment, Ferry journey to and from Kefalonia was lovely. The return journey to our pick up point was horrendous as there was a festival on and all roads were blocked sat in mini bus for 90 minutes in traffic. When we got back we had to insist that the driver drop is at hotel rather than pick up point as it was so late

Was erg slecht weer en wij zijn 2 uur in de regen in de rij gestaan bij Melissan cave. Natuurlijk de cave was prachtig, maar verder niet veel gezien. Ik zal adviseren als zo slecht weer, toch verplaatsen de tour naar een andere dag..

It was too long a day. We were picked up at 7.30am and got back to our hotel at 8.30pm. The ferry journey was too long and too much time spent travelling on the couch and only 30 minutes free time. The church/monastry took too long to get to and we spent minimal time there so it was a waste of time. Would have preferred to have more free time in the capital as we did not see much of Kefalonia.

Bianca made this trip. She’s really incredible. I’ve seen other trips being taken place with other guide’s and they are no way in any league with Bianca, you can tell she was born to do this. Thank you Bianca, I would like a thank you to be passed on to herself. The trip wouldn’t have been the same without her. Only downside was how long we was out for 13 hours. Oppaamme Konstantina oli mahtava! Saimme paljon tietoa Kefaloniasta, kreikkalaisista myyteistä, paikoista, historiasta. Retkellä oli mukavasti useita sopivan kestoisia pysähdyksiä upeissa paikoissa. Lounaspaikka (omakustanteinen) oli hyvin valittu. Retkellä oli kiireetön tunnelma. Lauttamatka kesti 1 h 45 min suuntaansa, joten kannattaa ottaa jotain tekemistä mukaan. Itselläni retki kesti yht. 14 tuntia, koska lähdin Laganasista - tämä ei itseäni haitannut. Tui voisi korjata keston nettiin.

Heel mooie tour op het eiland. Prachtige natuur, toffe bezienswaardigheden. Onze gids Bianca straalde van enthousiasme en toonde ons met passie het eiland. Hou er wel rekening mee dat het een lange dag is. (Rond de 12 uur).

I thought this was a brilliant trip, would have preferred longer in agosteli but it is a whistle stop tour and 45 minutes was ok.

The tour guide was knowledgeable, funny and very friendly. She explained every detail about the trip in advance which was useful. Be prepared to be slightly out f breath climbing out of these caves but the views are worth it. Kefalonia is beautiful and I would recommend taking this tour as you get to see many parts of this island.

We found the island to be very clean. The beaches looked very nice. The traffic was quite light on the roads and definitely less quads on the roads. I feel the stop at Melisandre lake could provide more shade covered for visitors. The day of our visit it was 37c and the queue for the lake was an hour. The entrance area needs complete shade cover especially with a prolong heat wave that is currently been experience on the Ionian Island and the mainland of Greece.

Bardzo dobrze zorganizowana wycieczka. W tak zwanym miedzyczasie, podczas podrózy autokarem, pani przewodnik Bozena przekazala nam mase informacji o wyspie, przyblizyla charakterystyke i obyczaje. W bardzo ciekawy i dowcipny sposób przyblizyla nam kulture grecka. Sluchanie tych faktów bylo atrakcja sama w sobie. Oprócz pieknych widoków i super atmosfery warto dodac plus dla p. Bozeny za szczególna opieke i ciagle wzbudzanie zainteresowania wsród najmlodszych uczestników wycieczki.

A lovely day, although a long day! Constantina, our guide, was really knowledgeable and answered all questions. Huge queue to get in Messolini Caves, however it was peak season so to be expected. This impacted then on the time spent at the restaurant and in the capital, but managed to fit it all in. Saw a lot of Kefalonia as well which was lovely. You need to pay for the caves and underwater lake but this is only €13 for both per person.

Bus to lunch @14.50 Got to lunch@15.05 Set off for Capital@15.50 with a 5 min stop for a photo of the Correlli beach from atop a cliff. @Capital 17.05. 25min visit Bus to boat@17.30 Set sail@18.00. Zante@19.30 Hotel@21.00 Bus 6h15m Boat 3h10m Wait 2h30m Attractions 45m 13+hrs ish.

From the start picked up air con bus. Guide great and very knowledgeable. Trip was good bit long day. Enjoyed all the places we visited. Lovely raver a fie lunch, must let people know not included in price so you can factor in budget. Ferry good experience.

The trip was absolutely fantastic, Bianca our TUI guide was so knowledgeable and went over and above telling all the history of the island. It was a whistle stop tour as there was so much to pack in but there was time to see everything properly. Melissani cave was stunning as was Myrtos beach. The Drogorati cave was hard work with the steps but worth it. I would have liked more time in Argostoli but can understand why we couldn’t . We also saw dolphins on the ferry ! Trip should say 12 hours

Retki oli hyvin järjestetty. Nouto hotellilta ja kuljetus lauttasatamaan sujuivat ongelmitta. Ennen lauttaa odotimme noin tunnin kahvilassa. Drogaratin luolissa 30 minuutin vapaata aika riitti hyvin. Melissanin luolassa jonotus kesti lähes kaksi tuntia auringonpaisteessa, mikä oli epämiellyttävää. Luola itsessään oli upea. Lounastauko oli lyhyt, ja kaikki ohjattiin yhteen paikkaan syömään. Olisimme kaivanneet enemmän aikaa kaupunkiin tutustumiseen. Pääkaupungissa oli vain 30 minuuttia vapaata

The day was rushed with some elements really not worth it. Drogarti cave was nice to see but a lot of damage which was a shame amd ruined the experience. Melissani was magical and worth seeing. The monastry/convent was just a waste of valuable time and lord knows why we had to go to the north for the view spot and the lunch. It would have been far better to skip that and go straight to the capital for lunch and the Kefalonia experience and the tutles which was my highlight

Sehr schöne Tour ,man erfährt viel über die Insel und seine Menschen,wenn man den richtigen Guide dabei hat, in diesem Fall war das Bianca (großes Lob)! mit ihr wird die Tour zu einem tollen Erlebnis .....führt die Tour in Holländisch und gut verständlichem Deutsch.Mann bekommt viel zu sehen, Fährzeiten sind mit 1 H 20min.ok, Alles in allem ein toller aber auch sehr langer Tag ( 7.30- 21.30) der sein Geld wert war.

A large cruise ship had arrived in port,which meant long wait times at the planned excursions. Surely Tui could plan this day trip around cruises arriving in port. The guide moved the day around to keep waiting times to a minimum, but we still missed a planned stop and had to wait 1 hour and 45 mins in an outside queue in direct sunlight for the underwater caves. Other tour operators provided their guests with free bottled water during this wait time,Tui provided nothing.
