What to expect
With coastal roads, towering cliffs and valley-nestled villages, Tenerife's west is a joy to explore. On this tour in comfortable minivans, you'll go through a roll call of all the must-dos – local product tastings, exploring Teno Rural Park and visiting picture-postcard villages. Arianne, one of our expert guides, says, ‘You'll unearth the geology of Tenerife's past, discovering impressive landscapes along with the island's history and culture.'It all begins in Icod de Los Vinos. A guided tour of the town takes in its centuries-old dragon tree – located in a park that's more like a botanic garden – traditional colonial-style architecture and a sampling of some local products. Then, it's on to the hard-to-reach ‘lost village' of Masca. Precariously perched on a ridge overlooking a rugged gorge, it's one of Tenerife's most jaw-dropping sights.Next, you'll head down to Garachico on the coast, and discover why it's known as the ‘prettiest and unluckiest' town on the island. We booked a trip up the mountains with lunch very expensive not value for money at all lunch terrible had to sit at front of plane on return never sat in more uncomfortable seats ever I am a very thin person but couldn't move in them seat u are shoulder to shoulder with the person next to u should only be given to children had to pay forty pounds on way there to sit together and coffee on plane awful first time with tu.i with avoid them in future

This tour exceeded our expectations and was excellent! We were picked up from our hotel on time, and our main tour guide (We can’t remember the gentleman’s name but he was fluent in German and English and was extremely informative, friendly and made the whole experience enjoyable) was amazing! Very informative and friendly. We visited so many places around the north and middle of the island, stopped for lunch, wine and food tasting. Lots of free time and photo ops. Excellent value for money!

Landschaftlich war die Tour einsame Klasse. Wir haben viel gesehen. Der Guide war ziemlich schnell unterwegs. Auf das Mittagessen musste ich hinweisen das ich Vegetarisch haben möchte. Das Vegetarische Gerichtet war ein Witz es waren 5 gefüllte Teigtaschen im Gegensatz zu den anderen mit Kartoffelpüree und ein Hüherschenkel. Das fand ist schon ziemlich spärlich. Abholung Hotel 8,20 Uhr ankommen am Hotel 15,15 Uhr

Enjoyed the whole excursion the two best parts was the stop in Masca and the stop for lunch. The food and venue was excellent for lunch and our guide was very knowledgeable. Overall I thoroughly recommend this excursion.

Guide Raffelle was great very cheerful very knowledgeable first village we was quaint but the second stop Masca was a total waste of time too many tourists at 1 time and a couple tacky souvenir shops ! The meal was a watery tomato soup make better myself and chicken (pink in the middle ) and mashed potatoes we thought it was going to be a traditional affair and the wine tasting was a shop we thought we were going to an actual vineyard ! Overall great guide but not worth the €164 for the 2 of us

Our guide, Ivan, made this trip really interesting and fun. He was well informed, friendly and considerate. The places we visited were beautiful and many of the views breathtaking. The free time allocated to the different stops gave plenty of opportunity to take photos/buy souvenirs and meant that we didn’t feel rushed. The minibus was comfortable and Ivan was an excellent driver on very narrow windy roads. I would recommend this trip wholeheartedly.

Die Organisation und der Ablauf war insgesamt gut. Teilweise durch die langen Fahrstrecken bedingt durch den Verkehr langwierig, so daß für die einzelnen Stationen nicht soviel Zeit übrig blieb. Rafael und Rudolfo haben das sehr gut gemeistert. Die Sicherheit war zu jeder Zeit gegeben. Das landestypische Essen war auch schmackhaft.

Auf den hinteren Sitzplätzen hat man zeitweise den Reiseleiter nicht so gut verstanden obwohl dieser sehr bemüht war laut und deutlich zu sprechen. Uns wurde alles genau erklärt und der zeitliche Ablauf hat gepasst.

Kjempefin tur anbefales var innom flere steder og kjørte på smale veier innom flere småsteder samt en elgammel by (landsby som pirater gjemte seg i oppi fjellet Guiden var kjempeflink pratet 2 språk :Tysk ,engelsk utenom spansk. Ansich eine schöne Tour. An den Punkten leider zu wenig Zeit raus, Fotos machen, rein und weiter. Tour war deutsch und englisch, was blöd war da man teilweise erst was bei der Fahrt erfahren hat wenn man dran vorbei war. Weinprobe? Schnapsbecher mit 1x Rotwein, 1x Weißwein, 1x Bananenschnaps und 1x Honigrum, je 1 Finger breit. Keine Erklärung. Viel im Auto gesessen. Aber auch durch Raphael viele Dinge erfahren.

On 24/10 I had booked a trip with TUI: North west Tenerife Tour with Canarian Lunch. It was my first trip ever with TUI and I really enjoyed it. We were only 8 persons in a small mini van and we had the pleasure of seeing some incredible places. Our Guide Rafael was telling us about the history of the archipelago and the some interesting facts about the island itself. Rafael is an amazing guide with perfect knowledge of the German language and good English skills. I highly recommend him Thanks!

Me gustó como fue el comportamiento del guía después de ponerlo en desigualdad, ya que me dijeron que me irían comentando las cosas en las paradas en español ya que la excursión era en inglés y alemán, a él no se lo advirtieron. El engaño de TUI, me dijo el guía que podía haberme buscado una excursión en español que las hay, sólo le hacía falta al agente buscar un poco.

We enjoyed the scenery,meal and brief wine tasting. When we went to the botanical garden where the dragon tree is located we were told we would have an English speaking guide. We however found him difficult to understand due to his strong accent It was as if he had learnt a script and not the English language.

Guide did not appear very interested in the group and sounded bored. Trip booking implied a small group tour by mentioning a minivan, but actually it was a convoy of vans. Der Guide war schon sehr bemüht. In dem Drachenbaumpark hatte die englischsprachige Gruppe einen Mitarbeiter des Parks als Guide. Somit war es für diese Gruppe informativer. Wir waren auch mit unserer Gruppe sehr schnell wieder draußen!

The audio kept buzzing so you couldn't hear everything what the guide was saying all the time in the vans, maybe pre record the content for each van? It also mght be better to separate English an German speakers as anyone talking meant you couldn't hear the guide, who was very knowledgeable. Felt the last part at the Dragon Tree was a bit rushed for taking pics. Restaurant food good an a positive trip in the main.

Der Ausflug wurde mit 3 Kleinbussen durchgeführt und über den Lautsprecher in Deutsch und anschließend in Englisch kommentiert. Das Essen (Hühnerkeule mit Kartoffelbrei, Tomatensuppe, Panacotta) war OK, es gab Wasser und Weißwein zum Essen. Die abgefahrenen Orte besichtigte man selbständig nur im Drachenbaumpark lief der Guide mit.

Der Reiseleiter ist 1 Van selbst gefahren, hat in deutsch und Englisch sehr viel erklärt und erläutert. Der Mann hatte Stress pur, fahren und 2sprachig erläutern und das über ein Hadset an die anderen 2 Vans über Funk. Die Fahrgeräusche sehr laut und unangenehm. Insgesamt waren wir 3 Van vollbesetzt. Es ist nach Masco eine sehr kurvenreiche enge Strecke , man fühlte sich doch unsicher. Es waren insgesamt Zuviel Reisebusse und Mietwagen auf dieser Strecke und das in 2 Richtungen.

Die Weinprobe kann man sich sparen. Sonst war der Ausflug gut. Der Guide war super und hat die wichtigsten Sachen auf den Punkt gebracht. Nicht zu viel und auch nicht zu wenig erzählt.

The guide (Raphael) really knew his stuff and was helpful from start to finish Explained everything in really good English (despite it being not his native tongue). Cannot fault these people. Would certainly use again and would highly recommend.

The tour was OK. We saw some nice places and it was nice to meet other tourists. However, I didn't feel like I learnt anything about the island. We had a silly situation on the drive were we were in a convoy of five cars all going at a snails pace so people could take pictures through glass windows rather than pull over and get out. This understandably enraged the locals and wasn't much fun for me either. The guides were friendly and pleasant but the tour was in about five different languages so it took ages to tell us anything but when your language finally came around it was just to say 'we will see some nice flowers and some trees' which really wasn't worth waiting for. When I asked questions they didn't know. It was also very very rushed. We were dumped in each place told we had 45 minutes and sent on our way. Some places were small and that was fine but some places we just couldn't really see much. It would have been nice to relax and have a coffee occasionally. For the tasting we were herded into a shop (there were five car loads of us) there was three tiny shots a red and white wine and a liqueur - didn't really find out anything about them as it was so quick but I guess form the general prices in the shop they would be expensive. There was also mojo and jam on bits of toast that got wolfed by the hungry crowd. Didn't really learn anything about them either. The meal was OK - nothing to rave about. Really it was just far too expensive and rushed and I think there are other better tours available locally once you arrive.
