Leisure is the name of the game on Sunday mornings in Malta, and this shopping and sightseeing trip makes the most of Malta's scenery and local culture. You'll head to Ħaġar Qim Temple, gaze at the renowned Blue Grotto and visit the fishing village of Marsaxlokk to stroll around its weekly market. Micheal, one of our expert local guides, says, 'If you like to eat fish and seafood, Marsaxlokk won't disappoint. It's packed with great restaurants and market day brings the freshest produce to town, much of it picked or caught the same day.'We'll kick off with a visit to the historic Hagar Qim Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is over 5,000 years old and hints at how Malta's first inhabitants lived on the island. Then, it's on to one of Malta's most famous natural sights – the Blue Grotto of Wied Iz-Zurrieq. It's a 50-metre-deep natural cave with a huge arch that stretches out to sea. The caves get their name from the light reflecting off the water, which creates a dazzling blue colour. An optional boat trip into the grotto is available.You'll reach Marsaxlokk – one of the most picturesque spots in the country – just as tummies to begin growling. This quaint fishing village hosts a large market down by the waterfront – make sure you check out the colourfully painted ‘luzzu' boats floating in the harbour. As well as freshly caught fish, there'll also be locally grown fruit and veg, Maltese wines, cold cuts, cheeses and leather goods. Enjoy free time here and tuck into what takes your fancy.

The boat trip to Blue Grotto was lovely, though have to pay extra (cash not card). Temple visit really interesting and guide was enthusiastic. Had 3h at market which is great for looking round and having food/drinks. We were lucky as were last pick up and first drop off - but even for those who had longer on coach had nice air conditioning coach to be out of heat. This was our only excursion of holiday and really enjoyed it.

3 hours in the market town is too long. An hour amd a half is all you need. It'd be helpful to have more detailed information on the trip beforehand as it was too sketchy. It'd have been better if it included a visit to the local church there but there was no mention of that The first stop was lovely but nothing exceptional if you don't pay extra for the boat trip. The visit to the temples was brilliant though. The guide was knowledgeable, kind, warm and friendly. She answered all our questions

The trip is described as going to Marsaxlokk market + Blue Grotto. However you do the Blue Grotto first, then an archeological site. By the time you get to Marsaxlokk the market is already packing up. You also need to get lunch. Even with only grabbing a quick pizza most of the market had then already gone. The locations are okay but the timings are wrong - need to do the market first ( or don't describe it as a trip to the market).

Do niczego nuda, po prostu nie warto, jak by to było blisko to ok ale jazda ponad 1,5h żeby przepłynąć łodką 5 minut, potem w muzeum dosłownie 5 minut oglądania kamienii i targowisko w wiosce rybackiej, towary te same co pod hotelem, tandeta, szajs, aliexpress. Na dodatek 40 stopni w cieniu dosłownie nie do wytrzymania nie było ani wody ani niczego, przewodniczka robiła co mogła ale po prostu lepiej zostać w domu. Po wyjeździe wymiotowaliśmy i przepadła nam kolejna wycieczka 400zł w plecy...

Grundsätzlich ein schöner Ausflug, nur: zu viele Teilnehmer. Beim Besuch der blauen Grotte ist das Schiff fahren reine Abzocke. Beim Besuch des Hagar Qim ist es schwierig der Reiseleiterin zu folgen, da sie kein Mikrofon hat. Da ist es besser selber zu buchen und den Audio guide zu nehmen. Grundsätzlich war die Reiseleiterin gut und hat viel erklärt. Der Markt war schon fast vorbei, als wir am Nachmittag hingekommen sind, schade.

Onze uitstap begon met vertraging door problemen met boekingen van gasten in andere hotels. De blauwe grotten zijn fantastisch mooi maar het gaat allemaal veel te snel. Het ene bootje na het ander, echt machinaal. Idem bij de tempel van Hagar Qim, en we hebben zelfs de tweede tempel Mnajdra niet bezocht! Tegenvaller! Marsaxlokk bezochten we dan rond de middag met een beetje vrije tijd. Maar we hebben amper kunnen genieten van de lokale markt aangezien ze al aan het opruimen waren!!

Just wish we’d gone to the market in the morning as that’s what the trip said but we were taken to The Blue Grotto first and also a temple and did the market in the afternoon when a lot of the stalls were packing up.That’s my only grievance.The tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable but the driver was grumpy..

I was looking forward for this trip but unfortunately it was cancelled. I was told by my rep that I had been notified of the cancellation. I wasn’t told any information that it was cancelled and it is only available Sunday. I will be leaving Malta on Saturday so will miss the trip. Please offer a full refund . Everything else is wonderful

Never went on TUI arrange tour waiting from 8.45 to 9.15 the coach never turned up. ********** to contact TUI via app not helpful could not cancel as it was on the day. Call the contact number could not get through. There was a vendor selling tours opp the hotel I had to buy another tour from him at 35 euro.i have another tour booked with TUI 28.10.2025 hopefully this goes to plan.

Alle excursies die we deze vakantie hebben gedaan vertrokken vanaf hotel Santana. Dus bij boeken van deze excursie als vertrekplaats Santana opgegeven en gezorgd dat we er ruim op tijd waren. Blijkt vertrekpunt een ander hotel te zijn. Hoewel onze eigen fout, is communicatie hierover voor verbetering vatbaar.

Well organised and fitted a lot into the day, ancient temple and boat trip to Blue Grotto. The fresh part of the market was already packed up when we arrived but enjoyed the other stalls and a lovely lunch in Marsaxxloxk.

The time in each place needs to be a bit longer. We didn't have time for the boat trip at Blue Grotto as vy the time we'd used the loo the queue for the boats was too long. The temple time was zbout right. The time z Marsaxlokk was A little short too as there was not a lot of time ro walk around the harbour and look at the boats. By the time we had eaten it was time to walk back to thd bus. The quite was very informative and helpful..

De gids hoorde je praten, maar veel te zacht. Ze praatte veel, wat eigenlijk steeds irritanter werd. We kwamen aan op de markt, toen men al bezig was de markt af te breken. Ga eerst naar de markt en dan naar de tempel. De boottocht naar de blauwe grotten was geweldig.

De reis zelf was leuk, ietwat aan de dure kant maar de dingen die we deden waren mooi en leuk, en de gids kon leuk vertellen. Er is alleen op het eind van de reis een miscommunicatie geweest over een verzamel moment en de reisleiding en TUI hebben op een slechte en onveilige manier. We zijn effectief achter gelaten aan de andere kant van het eiland, hebben geen hulp gekregen om thuis te komen en zelfs als het onze fout was is er 0 uitleg gegeven waarom of benadering geweest of we veilig waren.

Op zich krijg je waar je voor betaalt, maar alles gaat in sneltreinvaart met een touringcar vol mensen. De tempel is best leuk om te zien, de blue grotto tour is een beetje een klucht; je betaalt er apart voor, het is er prachtig, maar de ongeïnspireerde bootvaarders racen even langs en door de grotten en weer snel terug. In Marsaxxklok arriveer je aan het eind van de markt. Dat vonden wij niet zo erg, want zo'n toeristenmarkt is toch niets voor ons en zonder markt zie je de haven beter.

A really good trip out. The blue grotto is beautiful and the extra boat trip is an absolute must. We hadn’t realised we would be stopping at Hagar Qim so that was a nice bonus. A really interesting site. We had plenty of time to explore the market, pick up some souvenirs and find somewhere to grab some lunch. The guide was excellent and clearly very passionate about her Maltese heritage. Highly recommend.

Several of us were told this was a half day tour, it wasn't it was a full day. The visit to the Minajdra Temple was a surprise, but incredible and one of the highs of the day, along with the boat trip around the caves which was fun. For me the market was disappointing, full of tacky souvenirs. The timing of our arrival at the market was too late, most of the fish stalls were at the end of the day and so nothing much to see, which was the main attraction. The Guide was very good.

Was een leuke uitstap, enkel hadden we meer verwacht van het vissersdorpje. De markt was niet echt een vissersmarkt maar eerder een gewone markt. Misschien verkeerd begrepen door ons. De charme van het dorp was hierdoor verloren. De gids was een top dame, vriendelijk en heeft ons veel info meegegeven over Malta .

Petra the guide was perfect. I learned a lot about the Malta . The economy the traditions the people. The fauna and flora. Was absolutely surprised no rivers in Malta The blue grotto was amazing. Plus the temple . The fishing village was not what I expected as it was not that picturesque as some villages. However I had a fantastic lunch. I would definitely do another tour with the Petra the guide. It was an incredible history lesson

Petra our guide was absolutely fantastic, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and funny! You could tell she really enjoyed her job. Unfortunately as with other tours it was very rushed. Couldn't see the lagoon as the boats weren't running. The temple was good, but Marsaxlokk market was insanely busy and the choice of goods on sale was limited to fish or tourist tat. We couldn't find seats in any restaurant so were left to wander about aimlessly until it was time to go back to the coach.

Our Tui tour guide was very informative & also had a good sense of humour which made the whole experience very good. Our bus driver for the trip was also very good, his driving was safe which made us feel at ease when we were on the bus inbetween destinations. Der Guide war sehr aufmerksam ging auf jeden ein. Die Tour war in englischer Sprache aber der Guide sprach etwas deutsch und konnte auch unsere Fragen beantworten. Der Hafen samt Markt war echt sehenswert. Es gab reichlich Zeit und sich umzuschauen und zu probieren. Gut zu Fuß sollte man sein. Die blaue Grotte und die Höhle zum Schluß sehenswert.

Le marché est présenté comme le marché dominical des pêcheurs, or, si j'ai bien vu des pêcheurs vendant leurs produits, la majorité des aubettes vendent toutes sortes de souvenirs. Peut-être suggérer que le repas puisse être pris ensemble avec tous les membres du groupe pour éviter tout risque de dispersion. L'activité n'avait pas été présentée comme incluant une possibilité de baignade, ce qui était le cas.

The Blue Grotto was enjoyable. Lovely views. The boat trip was good, fun to see inside the caves and the 'blue' water. Maybe a little rushed but I expect the boatman want to pack in as many trips as possible! The cave was interesting especially inside the museum. Marsaxlokk was okay. It was a bit too busy for me. The market wasn't that good, I thought there would be more local crafts but it was mostly your usual market tat. We could have done with an hour less here. No shade to wait in.

Leuke tour, maar verschrikkelijk eten als lunch. Slechte kwaliteit en ongeinteresseerd personeel in het restaurant. Helaas ging de airco in de bus ook nog kapot, maar we kregen wel snel een vervangende bus!

The trip was very interesting with a well informed guide.The three main stopping places made a nice variety with a delicious meal in Marsaxxlok to round off the tour.
