What to expect
The pretty fishing village of Bosa is just a short scenic drive along the coast from Alghero. It's considered one of the most beautiful of Sardinia's seaside retreats. And on this excursion, you'll have plenty of time to explore the handicraft market and old town, sit down for some lunch and soak up the laidback vibe. Valentina, one of our expert local guides, says, 'Apart from the castle, river and colourful houses climbing the hillside, Bosa is also famous for its Malvasia wine. It's a good bet if you are looking for a local variety to try with lunch.'As soon as you set foot in Bosa, you'll feel as if you've been transported back in time. Pastel-coloured houses flank the River Temo and character infuses every square centimetre. Lording it over the town is the hilltop Malaspina Castle – also known as Castello di Serravalle - which while a shell of its former glory boasts a remarkable medieval chapel adorned with fragile frescoes. Valentina adds, 'The oldest part of town is near the river. It wasn't until the castle was built that people chose to live away from the river, hoping for protection from the castle.'You'll enjoy a guided tour of the town to discover some of its secrets, and then free time to be able to browse the stalls at the weekly market where artisans and locals sell their own produce and goods. You'll also have time to find a restaurant to tuck into a local lunch, if you like. There's no rushing around on this tour, so you'll truly experience authentic Sardinia.

Når man skal gå 15 minutter til bussen og har fået personale på hotellet til at rykke morgenmad tiden får at kunne nå lidt morgenmad, så er det ikke fedt at bussen er mere end 20 minutter forsinket. Guiden var god og meget informativ. Både i bussen og på rundvisningen i byen. Markedet var ikke særlig stort og mange af boderne var det samme som ved stranden i Alghero. Vi kunne godt have brugt en halv time mere men det var nok fordi vi først kørte fra alghero kl 9.05

Mysig liten by. Tyckte kanske inte att själva marknaden gav så mycket. Däremot får man inte missa den guidade turen genom de smala gränderna i byn.

Guiden var bra och duktig och trevlig och kunde mycket , annars var det mer bussturen hem som vi tyckte att chauffören körde lite för fort , mysig stad värt att besöka

Vägen till Bosa är extremt krokig och backig. Därför borde förvarnas personer som lätt blir åksjuka.

Bussresan kändes inte säker. Serpentinvägar med branta stup och dåliga vägar. Chauffören körde jättesnabbt och ryckigt. Guiden höll med om att han körde fort. Funderade starkt på att ta en taxi tillbaka. Guiden var bra och staden mycket vacker men resan dit och tillbaka var en skräckupplevelse. Utsikten från bussen var säkert vacker men jag tittade inte ut, trodde bussen skulle flyga ut över stupet i varje kurva. Jag hade inte bokat denna utflykt om jag vetat hur bussresan skulle bli.

Guiden gick före utsatt tid tilll marknaden och tillbaks till bussen. Marknaden var inte mycket att ha trodde det skulle vara mer genuina hantverk inte bara mat och vanligt marknadsskräp. Inte värt pengarna.

Det var en trevlig bussresa. Vackert och bra guide. Bosa var mysigt. Gamla Bosa påminde om Gamla stan i Stockholm. Vackrare dörrar i Bosa och inte lika turistigt. Vi tyckte inte marknaden var värt besöket. Bor i Rättvik där vi har stor vår och höst marknad. Det var i stort sett samma utbud. Vi gick igenom den lite snabbt och satte oss sedan på torget och tittade på det vanliga dagliga livet. Det var en bra dag och en fin utflykt.

Byen var rigtig fin, vi brugte fir lang tid ved osteboden på markedet. Efter en halv times venten, gik jeg videre for mig selv, da jeg ikke skulle købe ost, men sikkert fint får dem der var interesserede. Resten af dagen var fin.

Guid och chaufför var toppklass. Guiden var mycket kunnig och vi fick veta mycket om Bosa och naturen under resan. Vandringen i Bosa var mycket bra och informativ. Lite stressigt att hinna äta lunch, vi hade otur och fick vänta länge på maten. Trippen hade kunnat vara en timme till. Sammantaget en trevlig och bra utflykt,

Antonio the guide was extremely knowledgeable and patient with the group. He ensured everyone was included and knew what was needed to know. We had plenty of free time to explore as well. Only thing we didn't enjoy was walking on the cobbles up to the castle base. Not easy on the feet although a gentle climb

En trevlig utflykt på slingrande o guppig väg till Bosa. Marknaden var okej mest ost men det är ju landets största produkt, lugnet på torget o tuff tuff tåget sen gamla stan med dina fina restauranger o god mat o dryck.

Trevlig och kunnig guide. Berättade om djur- och växtliv på bussen till och från Bosa. Intressant guidad vandring i Bosas äldre stadsdel. Marknaden var dock halvbra.

Once I arrived at my destination my holiday was fine. Sadly due to delayed flights ( over nine and a half hour delay) and Tuis handling of the complaint I will not be flying with Tui Again.

Initially the bus was about 30 minutes late picking us up from the pick up point which we had been asked to get to 15 minutes before the due time. The drive there and back was fast and efficient. Didn't see the point of the stop on the way as there were no toilet facilities which people needed. So why not just get us there quicker for this purpose. Bosa itself was nice, although if anything, we had a bit too much time there.
