What to expect

You have probably heard about the Kali Limni hike from Lastos. What you might not have heard about is the Lastos hike that takes you from the monastery of Archangelou Mychael through pine-tree forests, spectacular viewpoints where you can see Kyra Panagia and the fertile land in Mertonas that supplies water to Pigadia and the waterfalls in winter and spring. Enjoy hiking off the beaten path in this breathtaking landscape!Old Stavlos and the fertile land give you a clue about the settlers that once took advantage of this area and made it their own. Goats and sheep will be following you along the path, so do not feel alarmed by their bells ringing in the distance. They are as much part of this land as the rocks you'll walk on. Enjoy total immersion in the quietness of this beautiful landscape and don't forget the motto – take only pictures, leave no trace.

What to remember

You can choose between the option with transfer (for up to 6 people) and without transfer. If you select the option without transfer you will have to follow the guide in your car up to the starting point of the hike

The tour might be canceled if unforeseen circumstances, such as bad weather, make the activity impossible or dangerous or if the minimum number of 5 participants isn't reached. In such cases, you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund

It is recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes with good soles and take enough water with you (2 liters per person), some snacks, sunglasses, a hat and sunblock. A walking stick can be borrowed on request

If you book with your own transportation, meet the guide directly at the Art and Walk location in Pini, Volada 857 00 at 8:50am. Een geweldige en mooie ervaring. Je ziet Karpathos op een heel andere manier. Prachtige uitzichten en wandeling door het bos. Basisconditie wel vereist en laatste stukje ook doorzettingsvermogen, want het is soms ook buffelen met berg op en af langs steile paden en losliggende stenen. Maar het is de moeite waard. Als niet sportende, iets te zware vrouw van 50 heb ik de hike volbracht en zou hem zo weer doen. Een aanrader!

Prachtige wandeling met fantastische uitzichten en hele fijne gids Renate Mattson van Art and Walk , die veel informatie heeft over de planten, dieren en alles wat je tegenkomt. Ondanks de hoogte van de wandeling geen moment onveilig of onprettig gevoeld . Echt aan te raden als je houdt van wandelen en de fantastische natuur en stilte van Karpathos.
