Discover the Lipizzan white horses and the colourful Škocjan Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest underground canyons in the world, on this half-day Slovenian guided tour.You'll start your journey at the Lipica Stud Farm, where you'll venture through meadows, oak and chestnut trees whilst learning about the famous Lipizzan white horses. Walk around the stud farm estate, including the old manor house and stables, and discover the history of when horse-drawn carriages were the most prominent form of transport.Next, you'll continue to the Škocjan Caves to explore one of the most important natural phenomena in the Karst region. Together with the underground stream of the river Reka, these caves form one of the largest underground canyons in the world. You'll see giant stalactites, water rapids and lakes, then walk across a bridge situated 40 metres above the underground river before taking in the view at the cave's exit.Your tour ends with a visit to the Škocjan Caves Regional Park, an open-air museum featuring ethnological, karstological, geological and archaeological artefacts.
