What to expect
The thrill of watching dolphins in their natural environment is one of the great experiences Gran Canaria has to offer. Onboard Spirit of the Sea – World Cetacean Alliance certified for responsible whale and dolphin watching – you'll get to see these friendly and intelligent creatures in their natural habitat.There are six types of dolphins to spot, including bottlenose and common. And fin – the second-largest mammal – and pilot whales also make regular appearances. In fact, one-third of all species of cetaceans, which include whales and porpoises, can be found in these waters. The tour focuses on education with guides who share marine facts, help spot species and support real research. Spirit of the Sea are all about doing things responsibly, and their mission is simple – to show dolphins and whales while inspiring people to respect and protect them.You'll be able to keep a lookout for other creatures too – turtles, flying fish and brightly coloured parrotfish – thanks to the boat's viewing area. And, if you choose the second sailing of the day, there's a swim stop included, for when you want to cool off in the water.

Hyvin ohjattu, suomenkieltä kaipasi. Ihmettelen kun puhe tulee nauhalta muilla kielillä niin miksi ei Suomen. Oli kovat aallot, puolet retkeilijöistä oksensi, kylmä tuuli. Nähtiin ihanat delfiinit.

Pomimo bardzo miłej załogi muszę negatywnie ocenić wycieczkę. Bujało tak bardzo, że 80% uczestników wymiotowało. Zabrałam malutkie dziecko, które już kilkanaście razy było ze mną na lodzi, statku i motorówce, bo mam własną… a po tej wycieczce już nigdy nie wsiądzie na statek. Nie chodzi mi o to, że można mieć chorobę morską, bo to nie jest wina organizatorów czy obsługi, ale na warunki na oceanie, które można wcześniej przewidzieć i po prostu przełożyć atrakcje na inny termin. Odradzam!

It was very rough seas, so had to hang on and stay seated. Only one opportunity for a drink and/or to use the loo. Not their fault, just very rough and large swells. We did see a couple of small dolphins briefly, but couldn’t stand up to watch, as too rough.

Les horaires ont été respectés ( transfert et bateau) Le personnel sympathique a fait son possible pour trouver un endroit où voir des dauphins et nous avons eu la chance d'en voir beaucoup, des adultes et des jeunes, qui se sont approchés du bateau.

We were lucky to see lots of dolphins eventually! Being on the sea was great, on the way out. Advice about the cold air was very underplayed and we were told to taker a towel rather than a jacket or coat. First rep did not mention the cold. The way back was rushed and very choppy indeed. I was sick.

Nothing to see. Expectations set too high. Very very cold on return journey, not enough provision for shelter. Crew gave me a blanket to keep warm but insufficient. A thoroughly miserable time and glad to get back to port. Pick ups at both ends shambolic. Voucher for a free trip little compensation as I am not tempted to repeat.

This trip we did not see any sea life,but was an enjoyable boat ride,nice calm water,plenty of room on boat,got a voucher to have another trip,which i went on next day afternoon,tui rep very good,phoned company and arranged trip,and bus which was only 6 euros there,and,back,really enjoyable 2nd trip,met a large pod of dolphins,crew were very respectful of creatures.water was very choppy,but dolphin experience made up for it,reccommend this trip,as if you do not spot dolphins,a voucher is issued,

Geen bordje van tui achter het raam van de bus en geen begeleiding in de bus. Zelf maar vragen of dit misschien de juiste bus is. Kwartier lopen vanaf ons hotel ophaalpunt, geen probleem, maar nog 2 uur in de bus tot de boot. Op de boot onverstaanbare informatie, hard varen naar een punt waar we twee vinnen van dolfijnen konden zien en toen hard weer terug. Misschien hadden we gewoon pech. Totaal 3 uur op de boot. Erg saai.

De excursie is leuk en je ziet een hoop moois, maar je hebt wel een sterke maag nodig. Het is een relatief klein bootje waar het water graag mee speelt. Als je daar geen last van hebt of je hebt de juiste zeeziektemedicatie, is het een mooie excursie om te boeken.

We really enjoyed this trip. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable and we saw dolphins, turtles and flying fish! The bus was 25 minutes late collecting us on the way out, so it would have been good to have a TUI rep available to query this with as we were worried we had missed our transfer. We wouldn't recommend it for anyone who suffers from any sort of motion sickness. But we loved it and the afternoon swim stop was an added bonus!

Het was even geduld hebben maar uiteindelijk zagen we een heel aantal dolfijnen die rond onze boot bleven zwemmen en zich goed lieten zien. Vooral de moeder met jong waren heel leuk om te zien. Ook zagen we vliegende vissen, wat een prachtige dieren! De zee was wat ruig, waar niet iedereen tegen kon, maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken. Het personeel was vriendelijk. Erg leuk om eens te doen!

Vi væltede rundt på båden, bølgerne var ubeskrivelige, vand væltede ind på båden. Alle brækkede sig i stride stømme, og vi så 2 flyve fisk og røven af en delfin. Resten af dagen var ødelagt grundet fysisk ubehag.

The whole trip was brilliant. Very well organised. Only negative was boat guide not speaking clearly. We didnt understand what she was trying to tell us. Captain was very good. Swim stop was great. No whales seen but lots of dolphins & even a hammerhead shark swim past. Fabulous trip and we would highly recommend.

Lovely, knowledgeable staff who told us about the dolphins we saw, as well as a lone hammerhead shark that swam into the area. Only negative is that being the first pick-up (San Agustin) meant we were over one hour twenty minutes on the coach before reaching Puerto Rico for the boat, where we had to wait another 25/30 minutes. Then we were the last to be dropped off on the return journey.

Dieser Ausflug war wunderschön und auf jeden Fall jeden Cent wert. Wir haben sehr viele Delphine beobachten können. Auch der Shuttle vom Hotel zum Boot und wieder zurück hat sehr gut geklappt.

The trip was well organised. The trip should not have gone ahead due to the sea conditions which the crew MUST have been aware or prior to sailing. Within 15 minutes of sailing children were being sick and the conditions worsened the further from shore the boat was . No dolphins or whales were seen as they were probably keeping away from the bad sea conditions. We were offered a voucher to return within 1 yr but there is no way we will be going back on the Sickness of the Seas tour

Vi så mange delfiner eller dyr der hørte til delfinfamilien. Der var lukket til nedgangen på vej ud. Vi troede at der fordi den gyngede. Men nogen gik ned og lavede fine fotos. Det vidste jeg ikke at der blev åbnet senere. Jeg kunne ikke stå stille og fotografere foroven. På hjemvejen blev vi nogle stykker søsyge og en pose kunne vi måske have brug for. Men der var en der havde søsygepiller med. Så det gik lige. Vi nåede ikke at snorkle. For meget vind og bølger. Men fin tur - tak!

We had to rebook because the rep was not aware that he had to book directly with the supplier on a Sunday. I really wanted the Monday booking as it was my partners birthday. I feel let down by tui as I and the rep did nothing wrong .

The sea was incredably rough. Being seasick into a bag for 3+ hours is a terrible ordeal. The catamaran was rising and plunging about ten feet/ over 2 metres. There was no food and the excuse for a bar area had no choice of drinks on show. It is sold as a high end experience which it is not. It should be cancelled if the sea is as rough. Money should not be the deciding factor, Tui has a responsibility to protect their guests.

Sehr nette Crew, wir haben lange nach Delphinen gesucht, und als wir schon dachten, keine zu sehen, sichtete der nette Kapitän eine große Gruppe von Delphinen und Pilotwalen, denen das Schiff sich sehr vorsichtig und mit Sicherheitsabstand und ausgemachtem Motor näherte. Die Tiere waren sehr entspannt und schwommen auf uns zu. Der Kapitän beantwortete gerne Fragen zu den Tieren, deren Beutetieren, Wassertiefe et. Ein einmaliges Erlebnis!!

Magiskt när havet plötsligt kokar av delfiner. Hamnade i en stor grupp delfiner som länge lekte och simmade med båten. 6-åringen uppskattade glasrummet under däck där man kunde se dem under ytan och höra deras rop. Personalen på båten var otroligt serviceinriktade och vänliga!

We enjoyed the boat trip and saw dolphins, however we booked it through tui website and managed to arrange a pick up from another hotel, tui told us to contact booking.com who we didn’t book it with so I’m not sure what that was about, tui wasn’t bothered in helping us which spending nearly £200 on a trip and being told to sod off was upsetting, the trip itself though was good after we got a taxi to the other hotel

Het was niet duidelijk wat de opstapplaats was dus wij zijn niet mee geweest omdat wij geen bus hebben gezien Hier direct overgebeld en het zou uitgezocht worden,mail ontvangen dat wij de volgende dag meekonden maar geantwoord dat dit niet kon en wij graag ons geld terug willen of anders een voucher voor volgend jaar als we er weer zijn. Wyprawa bardzo sprawnie zorganizowana, plynelismy prawie godzine w jedna strone, co pozwolilo sie wsluchac w melodie oceanu, szum fal, wiatr i gorace slonce. Jednak kulminacja byla ogromna grupa delfinów, która jak na scenie aktorzy, daly pokaz skoków dla wszystkich. Warto zobaczyc doliny w ich naturalnym srodowisku i z takim organizatorem. Bez nich nie udaloby sie ich wyrobic. Goraco polecam wszystkim.

Overall it was a good experience and we saw plenty of dolphins, no whales or other sea life unfortunately. But that is nature. We enjoyed the trip although we all felt it went on for 30 minutes too long, that was because of the added swim on the afternoon trip we went on. Our driver was over 20 minutes late picking us up at Puerto Rico, which was a little disappointing but did not distract from a good afternoon at sea nature watching.

Het begon even goed .....ik werd ziek onderweg wat jammer is geen dolfijnen gezien wel een nieuwe voucher kunnen krijgen .....maar ik had al 3 kotszakjes vol gespuugd dus geen behoefte aan . Ook nog even over de reisleider van tui waar ik voor 2 personen had gereserveerd en betaald maar vergeten door te bellen bij spirit of the sea wij waren dus niet gereserveerd! Beetje jammer allemaal :(

Anreise als auch Zeit an Bord völlig o.k. Starker Seegang und keine Delphin zu sehen gehen nicht aufs Konto der Crew.. Haben dafür Gutschein bekommen. Ausflug unbedingt weiter zu empfehlen.

De crews op de boot deden hun uiterste best om dolfijnen te spotten. De zoektocht was geslaagd. We hebben, begin februari, veel dolfijnen zien zwemmen en springen. De boot was ook proper. Het toilet was ok. De transfer, van en naar het hotel, verliep ook goed. De bus kwam 5 min te laat, maar da’s ok. We zijn op vakantie!

De heengaat was prima, goeie uitleg en we hadden het geluk om veel dolfijnen te zien. Zelfs baby's. Alleen de terugrit duurde 1,5h en was gewoon saai. Geen dolfijnen of uitleg meer. Bv. de uitleg rond hun milieuwerk zou beter in het 2de deel komen en wat meer info over de samenwerking met de universiteit zou ook leuk zijn. Nu lijkt het beetje of dit maar werd gezegd wegens toeristische doeleinden. Gemiste kans. Daarom een 7, want in het verleden al interessantere goedkopere boottrips gedaan.

Das Boot ist sehr schnell aufs Meer rausgefahren und der Wellengang war so stark, dass von uhs 4 Personen 4 seekrank waren. Mehrere Leute (auch nicht unserer Reisegruppe) mussten sich übergeben. Mit kam es so vor als würde man ganz schnell rausfahren wollen damit eben das Delfin-Versprechen eingehalten wird ohne Rücksicht auf die Fahrgäste. Delfine haben wir dann auch viele gesehen, aber zu welchem Preis?

Eftersom bussen för pickup stannade 200 m från hotellet så kom vi ej med på resan. Vi trodde naturligtvis att bussen skulle hämta upp vid hotellet där vi bor och där vi bokade utflykten. Så, nej TUI. Uruselt!

Es war sehr windig und frisch auf der Hintour. Nehmt euch was zum überziehen mit. Wir haben dann eine größere Gruppe Delfine beobachten können. Die Crew war stets freundlich und es wurde sehr darauf geachtet, dass alle etwas sehen konnten. Negativ war nur, dass die Bandansagen an Bord schlecht zu hören sind.

Minder leuk,slechte aanduiding waar ophaal transfer stopt. Toen we n duidelijke foto met plattegrond kregen werd t pas duidelijk. Eerste poging geen bus gezien daar door en balen. Op de boot was leuk,ondanks de wilde zee. Werd goed gecontroleerd op veiligheid,zeker bij kleine kinderen was dat nodig omdat ouders instructies niet vanzelf opvolgde. Gaven dekens tegen de koude en extra handen ter begeleiding als mensen onstabiel liepen. Grote familie dolfijnen gezien,fantastisch!

Var jätteroligt! Såg två olika sorters delfiner och flygfiskar, väldigt trevlig personal och det ingick läsk. Detta var min första båttur på Atlanten och jag va lite nojig eftersom jag inte gillar stora vågor, men vädret var bra och jag kände full tillit till kaptenen så jag hade bara en jättefin utflykt ??

Lastig lopen op de boot werden wel ondersteund door iemand van de boot. Raam onder in de boot viel iets tegen maar dat weegt niet op wat je op de boot zelf ziet. Alles werd in 4 talen verteld erg fijn. Een heleboel dolfijnen gezien erg van genoten

Ich kann nicht generell sagen, der Ausflug ist nicht zu empfehlen. Der Wellengang war so hoch, selbst wenn man Wale oder Delphine gesichtet hätte, konnten wir unmöglich aufstehen. Einige Passagiere inklusiv ich, mussten uns übergeben. Am Ende der Tour wurden Voucher verteilt, dass man den Ausflug kostenlos wirderholen kann. Bei uns kam man nicht vorbei ind wir wurden auch nicht gefragt, ob wir gerne einen Voucher hätten.

The crew were very friendly, attentive and explained every step of the trip, kept us informed as to where we were going and how they were trying to spot the dolphins. They made contact with another boat, who had dolphins near their boat and we headed there, once there, the crew explained the type of dolphins, the features of the eco system and could see were genuinely passionate about the animals and ecology. It never felt too "touristy", it felt genuine

Retki merellä sujui hyvin, nähtiin delfiinejä ja henkilökunta oli hyvin ystävällinen. Bussikyydityksessä oli pientä epäselvyyttä, että millä pysäkillä pysähtyy. Bussin ulkopuolella saisi olla vielä tieto siitä minne on menossa.

Jeg spurte TUI om de kunne bekrefte et pickup punkt for meg til en tur vi ville bestille, det kunne de ikke så de ville heller vi skulle bestille gjennom dem for å få nøyaktig det samme; Pick up og lunsj inkludert. Det var det ikke. Ingen sikkerhet om bord annet enn anbefaling om å sitte i ro. De forhåndsinnspilte info-lydklippene hørtes ikke, så ble 2 1/2 time med å stirre ut i bølgete hav…. Ikke så mye som vann eller brus ble tilbudt selv om tui også garanterte det på sin side.
