What to expect

Discover the highlights of Luxor on this full-day guided tour and learn its history through its top sites (and hidden ones too): Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, Sphinx Alley and many more.Starting from being driven to Luxor West Bank, your first stop is the Valley of the Kings as you hear why it was once called the “Gates of the Kings” or the “Place of Truth”. You'll also marvel at Hatshepsut Temple rising out of the desert plain in a series of terraces and learn about the greatest mummy found in history in 1876. Then, before crossing the River Nile to Luxor East Bank, you'll pause to admire two 60-foot stone statues named The Colossi of Memnon that have stood for more than 3,000 years.Next, you'll cross the tranquil waters of the River Nile by motorboat to the Luxor East Bank, where it's time to indulge in lunch. You'll lastly explore the Jewel of the Egyptian Temples, Karnak, with its complex of sanctuaries, kiosks, pylons and obelisks dedicated to the Theban gods, which measures about 1.5km by 800m - large enough to contain about 10 cathedrals!

Excellent

Our TUI agent Mohammed Adel and our Egyptology guide Kamal were absolutely outstanding. We chose to go on several evening and day trips with them which were hassle free. We very much enjoyed Kamal’s expert commentaries and historical explanations and we were impressed by the comfortable and swift rides between the different attractions and historical destinations, the delicious lunches included and the overall efficiency and care taken by everyone to ensure that we had wonderful experiences.

Great

Casper the tour guide was great, had so much knowledge and seemed to have a genuine care for the history. The day was great and I got out of it everything I wanted, would I do it again no simply because it’s a once in a lifetime thing and if I could change anything I wouldn’t have gone in September in 45degree heat. The lunch was rubbish but it did the job and we got talking to everyone in the bus. The bus could have been better very small and uncomfortable for a 5.5 hour journey.

Average

Excellent

We had a fantastic experience. Our guide Ahmed was the best... he took the time to explain everything, gave us time to take pictures and had a rich knowledge of the Egyptian history. Also our chauffeur was great, very polite. We have seen a part of the surroundings, the visit at the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens was fantastic and the Temple of Karnac is just so impressive. DO NOT hesitate to book this excursion... It's a once in a lifetime experience.
