What to expect

Fuerteventura is that rare gem – there's plenty to do and see but in laid-back and uncrowded surrounds. This daytrip to the centre of the island will explore the historic town of Betancuria and the fishing village of Ajuy and take in attractions such as an aloe vera plantation and a farm.Setting off in a comfortable minibus, your first stop is the aloe vera plantation. Next up is the polka-dotted Moorish-influenced lighthouse overlooking Las Playitas beach. Then, in Ajuy, you can check out the view from the chalk cliffs overlooking the black beach and the fishing boats.Later, a scenic drive through the mountains will take you to the whitewashed colonial town of Betancuria. See St Mary's church, whose simple exterior belies its richly decorated interior. There'll be a cheese-tasting session at a nearby goat farm, before you round off the day with a visit to the cheese museum in Antigua.

We had a great day. It gave us a really good sense of the island as a whole. The guide was informative and knowledgeable. The stop off points were really interesting and the variety was good. It would be better to have longer in beautiful Betancuria and cut the museum. It is very small & adds little

Marcus was a fantastic guide very informative enjoyed the Aloe Farm, Lighthouse, Cheese Factory & villages. Sea caves not open but able to climb up to stunning views. Would have been nice to spend a little longer in the village Betancuria but overall a brilliant trip would recommend to others

A good chance to see more of the island. Variety of stops showing different aspects of Fuerteventura. Quite a lot of time making transitions between sites along remarkable roads.

Great

A great experiance to show the island history and places. Also, to show the animals that made the island and how people lived. The plants that made the island income with aloe vera. To have an old-style island lunch with wine.

I very much enjoyed this tour. The driver/guide was excellent and informative and looked after his guests. I would have liked to have spent more time at some of the locations to fully appreciate them.

Excellent

Overall the excursion & staff were friendly. Only downside was our pickup was nearly an hour late & our our pickup driver drove rather erratically to try to make up some time. From that point the whole day was very rushed as was constantly trying to make up time. Therefore we didn’t feel we had the best experiences of our stops

It was lovely to explore the Island and learn more about the history and culture. Also sampling the locally made produce of goats cheese, honey rum (very delicious) and the various traditional sauces and jams added to our experience. The cactus jam was really something, so we came home with a large jar, l would highly recommend tasting that! We also enjoyed a traditional tapas and other local dishes for lunch, all in all a brilliant day out! Would certainly recommend this trip.

We had a wonderful time on our excursion. Leo our guide was amazing. Very entertaining & informative. He was so passionate about the island. We learnt alot about Fuerteventura and thoroughly enjoyed the day. It's a long day but well worth it as you pretty much travel the whole island. The lunch was also delicious. We would definitely recommend this tour. Or any tour done by Leo. He was brilliant!

Great

This excursion had a good mixture of places to visit. An Aloe plantation, a lighthouse on the most easterly point. A cheese factory, a stop in Ajuy a fishing village on the west coast with an option to see the caves, a visit to the original capital Betancuria, a late lunch at a small tapas restaurant & a visit to a museum. The tour guide/ driver was very knowledgeable. Each minibus/van was a max of 8/9 people (three in our convoy). The day is 7/8 hours & very enjoyable.

Excellent, varied and interesting tour of the Island. Pick up from the hotel was late and uncoordinated but once the tour started the guide was brilliant and all the stops well planned.

Excellent

The room we had was perfect. Facilities are very good and service was excellent. We had one very disappointing evening when we booked the Bogeda restaurant we were one of the first people to arrive for our meal. We ordered our meal and waited for 20minsOther people that arrived after us were served before us and when we eventually received our first course and it was not what we ordered. When we did receive it they were some food missing. We waited another 30mins and did not receive the second course so we left and went to the main restaurant. It was a very bad experience and would not recommend this restaurant.

Very knowledgable english speaking guide Roberto. Minibus rather than large coach much better & accessed roads that would not have been possible in a coach. Trip was full & half hours. Incl lunch was basic but filling

The scenery is spectacular, the Aloe Vera tour was an eye opener. The lunch was just ok for me. The tour guide was a lovely man but, being sat at the back of the minibus I couldn’t hear a word he said about the history of the island or any of the other things.

Average tour, wouldn’t pay the price again considering most of the attractions were “FREE ENTRY”. Found the tour to be a lot of driving around. However cannot fault our tour guide/driver. He kept the day fun and we couldn’t fault him at all. Lunch average, a few small potatoes&chicken &served at 3pm

Great

A well thought out tour with a varied route. Driver and guide was excellent and showed good local knowledge. Aloe Vera farm was a revelation and a good start.Would have liked more time to taste the cheeses and learn about production method at the goat farm. Could have done with lunch being earlier.

Great

We found the whole trip very interesting although personally I didn't find there was much to see at the goat farm. The Cheese Museum was a complete misnomer as it showed an exhibition on how the island was formed. The cactus garden however was fantastic. 9 hours was a long day!
