Your first stop is the bustling Shiogama Seafood Wholesale Market, renowned for its fresh seafood sourced directly from Shiogama Port. Immerseyourself in the lively atmosphere of one of Miyagi’s key fishing communities as you peruse stalls brimming with fresh fish and processed seafood products.Next, journey to the historic Shiogama Shrine, majestically overlooking the city of Shiogama. Wander through the tranquil shrine grounds and soak up the spiritual ambiance of a place deeply intertwined with the local community and the sea.From there, venture to Matsushima, celebrated as one of Japan’s Three Scenic Views and a top coastal destination. Here, you're given complete freedom to explore at your leisure. With no set sightseeing route, you're free to discover the sights and experiences that pique your interest.Perhaps embark on a Matsushima Bay sightseeing cruise to admire the islands from the water, or visit the ancient Zuiganji Temple. You might choose to cross the distinctive red bridge to Godaido Temple, amble along the waterfront, browse local shops, or unwind at a café with views over the bay. Be sure to sample local seafood and regional delicacies, including oysters. The standard Matsushima Bay sightseeing cruise lasts roughly 50 minutes.
